The primary goal of this is to help newbie RPers get the hang of things. Please don't forget that.
With that said, the rules.
- 500 character minimum for your posts. You'll find a button under the box of smileys that says "check post length." Use this to see if your post is long enough before hitting "post" please. Any posts under 500 will be deleted. Also, try not to go over 2000 if you can help it. This is casual in every sense of the word, not a serious RP.
- No godmodding, unless I approve it.
If I catch you godmodding without prior approval, heads will roll.
- No PKing the newbies. If newbies join this, I encourage all of you to try and help them, not hinder them. I don't want to see anyone mistreating a newbie, in any way. The major purpose of this freeform RP is to get more people interested in the forum, and if people go against that, I'll simply have to do bad things to them.
You do not need to be approved to participate in this RP. All I ask is that you post a character sheet here before you touch the IC. I'll delete posts by people who haven't posted a character, so please take the time to do it. Once you post your character, dive in and have fun, you don't need to be oked first. But, try not to make any godly characters. The story can be whatever you want, whatever direction you want to take it in in your post is fine by me. But stick to the medieval setting.
With that said, the main setting:
This takes place in a medieval time period, where magic and swords rule the battlefield. Graceful dragons fly overhead and rain death upon their foes, yadda yadda yadda. We'll be starting off in a small county, which is at war with another small county over a newly discovered gold vein in a nearby cave. Maps dictating the territory of each county have been lost for a long time, so no one knows who owns the land the cave is on, hence the dispute, which has erupted into a small war. You, as the characters, will take part as a member of either county, and take the plot from there.
Any race is acceptable. Hell, make up your own, I don't care. However, you cannot be a god or goddess. A demigod is fine, though
Without further ado, here's the character I'll be playing in this RP:
God.
That's right, god. That great, celestial being who sees all, knows all, hears all, and does all. Break the rules, and face his wrath. I'm not going to post much, but when I do it will be to throw something interesting in.
Your character sheet should be in this layout:
Name:
Race:
Height / weight:
Age:
Gender:
Location:
Weapons:
Armor:
Spells:
Biography: (try to make this lengthy)
For you newbies out there, here's an example of a decent character sheet:
Race: Human
Height / weight: 6'0/ 200 lbs.
Hair: long and black, is now in a ponytail that reaches the backs of his knees.
Eyes: blue
Age: 38 (Two years, right?)
Gender: Male
Class: Monk
Weapons: Fists, Quarter-Staff, Shuriken (Didn't use the last two much, did I?)
Identifying marks: Long scar on leg, though covered by his clothes.
Background: Rauvan had trained to be a Monk all his life, after all, when your left on the steps of a monastary as a baby, what else can you do? He mastered the skills needed, and quickly surpassed his master. However, that's not exactly saying a lot, he was trained at a rather poor monastary, and the master there was only in it to show how to defend yourself.
However, with time, Rauvan got better, and started to enter tournaments. At first he would lose quickly, but with time he would begin to win, and eventually, he had raised enough money to bribe his way into more powerful monastaries. Eventually, he surpassed the masters at these monastaries, and moved on. Once again, he began to take place in tournaments, and quickly began to win.
Once he had saved up enough money, he built a monastary of his own, although he didn't get very many students. Just the ones from the other monastaries he had been to, however, they were very loyal to him, and he taught them as best he could. However, Rauvan felt he was missing something, but continued to help his students. He needed a challenge, and he needed more students to come to his monastary, but how?
Ah, yes, I nearly forgot. Location names and such. It's up to you people to name the two countys, and the continent they're on. I'm giving you guys all the creative liberties I can, so enjoy.
