Rubedo  : (28 July 2010 - 07:37 PM) I'll just go with "whatever comes first". Since VC's gonna be a steep learning curve and can't just headshot everything.
Flame  : (28 July 2010 - 03:55 PM) Nothing much HLOG... Drama has been pretty low. There was "The Great Merge" in which one moderator thought the forum would look better if every topic was merged into just one. Ultimatly we decided against the new look he gave us.
Ash Crimson  : (28 July 2010 - 01:42 PM) Thank you Chalryn, for that rather amusing link!
HLOG  : (28 July 2010 - 12:13 PM) Working the late shift makes me dumb. I'd forgotten I poked my head back here. So did I miss anything in the long void between my visits so many years ago?
Chalryn  : (28 July 2010 - 11:40 AM) Behold: Hard Gay Ramen!

Theferrell  : (28 July 2010 - 09:20 AM) Nanoo nu'un
Cel Merion  : (28 July 2010 - 08:50 AM) I am no longer Jack of Allterades! I shall lead my flock as the master of Nu'un!

Actual DQ9 text, I swear.
Ash Crimson  : (28 July 2010 - 06:47 AM) Look no further than Athrun's sig for the truth about VC.
Cel Merion  : (28 July 2010 - 06:11 AM) AC has been around longer so you could get it for cheap. Also, giant custom robots. ##### yeah.
Flame  : (28 July 2010 - 05:32 AM) Not Sure what AC4 is like... but VC is damn ##### awesome.
Noir  : (28 July 2010 - 03:45 AM) AC4, obviousluy. And then for Answer. Then wait for 5.
Rubedo  : (27 July 2010 - 10:51 PM) All this talk can get a man tempted. Vallkyrie Chronicles? Get it or Armored Core 4 first?

Square Enix debuted the third expansion of its popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XI at Tokyo Game Show today. Titled Treasures of Aht Urhgan, the new expansion pack was only demonstrated through a short trailer. Treasures of Aht Urhgan will add several new areas (a massive phantom ship, a gloomy swamp area, a grassland area with beautiful autumn leaves), a new storyline, new sea routes and the new Blue Mage job. This new job comes with an oriental dress and, of course, Blue Magic. When a monster uses a particular attack against a Blue Mage, he or she will be able to learn said attack and afterwards use it just like a standard magic spell. Square Enix also confirmed that Treasures of Aht Urhgan is directed by map planner Kouichi Ogawa.

Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan has yet to receive an official release date.

Sounds like a relatively dull update.
But none the less, Blue Mage, a job that you can do without paying obscenes amount of money for skills and equipment. Sounds great. =o

Too bad I hate being a mage. XD

Only one new job= NOT WORTH IT!

But it is interesting, I would want to try Blue Mage, just.... 99% of the server would also be..

I doubt they'd JUST add Blue Mage. There must be 1-2 other jobs they're adding at the same time... they have to forsee the Blue Mage overload the servers would take if the job is released just like that. They would try to spread the "OMG NEW JOB" hype over maybe 2 or 3 of them.

Or maybe they're relying on the new XBox customers, all pre-30, so they can't unlock the job, to balance it out.. hrm.

FFXI's Got the Blues: 9.29.05: The wishes of thousands of Final Fantasy XI fans the world over have been granted, and the Blue Mage has been revealed as part of the upcoming expansion pack, entitled Treasures of Aht Urhgan. Square Enix describes the class, saying, "Employing the legendary arts of Aht Urhgan, these formidable fighter-mages employ elegantly curved blades for close combat, while decimating their enemies from afar with fell magic mastered from their opponents." Here are 3 images of Blue Mages in action: Screen 1, Screen 2, Screen 3.

In similar news, Gamespot.com reports Square Enix's Prez Yoichi Wada saying he plans to "distribute mobile versions of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest to North America, Europe, and China around the end of 2006." Read that whole article here if you like. Thanks to "Shang Tsung 2" for that tip.
