A group of assasins are controled by Chronos. They all have a number on their neck. But number 13 which is Black Cat has the characteristics of a cat, because a witch cursed him. He is supposed to kill people but he also hates the thought of killing people.

Well, Black Cat the anime was released not too long ago. I've been following it since it's release. It's up to episode 5 and honestly is the next popular anime to hit the internet market, it join Bleach and Naruto for popularity. We'll see if popularity remain, but I won't be shocked if the popularity remain.

Of course, quite a few people were reading the manga to Black Cat for quite some time before the anime myself. I'm not that into the series to go out and read the manga yet. Anyway, people are welcome to discuss the manga of Black Cat in this topic as well, just make sure to label you're talking about the manga so people watching the anime are not spoiled.

My impression of Black Cat are good. It's quite action pack and also has that Get Backer feel to it for some reason. So far, a pretty cool cast of characters made up Sven, Train, Eve and Rinslet. Of course, Sven has provide the comdey majority of the time for the anime so far. He's still a pretty cool looking character and his special power to see into the future is cool, too bad it weaken him after using it. Since it's episode 5, I haven't gotten to know much of Eve and Rinslet, so I have not formed an opinion of them. Train or Black Cat is just the cool looking action hero. Nothing much to say yet, like I said, only episode 5, but my impression of characters are good. I like all four of the main led characters.

From what I can tell, it seem Creed will become the main villian, but I could be mistaken. Creed is you typical psycho so far. Who has some weird obsession ober Black Cat. No real explaination on it other than Creed want Black Cat to join him to take on Chronos. Outside of that, Creed just seem like a crazy bastard so far.

Without a doubt, you should check this anime out if you got the time. If you're into Bleach, Get Backers and Naruto, then this anime should suit you.

Yeah, its use of colors is quite dodgy, Sven is awesome, but this anime doesn't seem AS cliche ridden as a lot of things.

Its quite the worthy checkout though, IMO. The plot has its own way of tellingc things, and..well...Its a shounen by Gonzo. Not meaning to go into "ZOMG GONZO HYPE" (because they aren't all that) but it'd be interesting to see their take on things. =p

I don't know which one comes first, the anime or manga. But since you said the anime just been released recently, then it must be the manga.
I've read the manga up to vol 6, superb. Reminds me of Yuyu Hakusho. =)

I loved Evangelice, I hope she grows to adult soon. <3

You got it right. Creed wants to be god, and it is so obvious it isn't a spoiler. How much crazier can a man be?

I loooooove Black Cat the manga. Like Vins said, Black Cat is not a cliche as some of the other manga/anime out there and the characters are very interesting with their own past and everything messing together nicely. My only gripe is that not all the assassins of Chronos appeared.

Anyway, I may get the anime downloaded just to try it... I'll just have to try and remember to do it.

Oh man. Epi 6 was....Meh, Hard to describe.

SPOILERS. Highlight to read.

Saya's death would have been a bit more "hurtful" if it had been animated. It sucks that she had to die that way, its kinda...humiliating. But a lot of the action looked awkward in the ep. A good episode, and I suppose the series will take an uphill ride from here. (Going off what I saw in ep 1, anyways)

END SPOILERS.

But none the less, I enjoyed it. XD

Ep 7 - HAHAHA. Gundam Parody. dry.gif
I thought that was funny as hell, when Eve tried to force the bell on Train. And well, I just like Eve overall. She's a cute and funny character, and that gundam parody is priceless. And the new Chronos dude they showed this ep was...lame. =/

Kinda weird for a dude like him to be in numbers, I kinda expected them all to be as daft as number 1 was. (<33 her, btw).

=/

I just start watching this anime today. I like the graphical style, and the use of both swords and firearms. Train is a pretty cool character, though I don't really understand who that other guy with him is [is it even a guy?] I'm guessing he's another Chrono member or whatever it is. May have explain that, if it did I miss it.

He seems like a dude, don't understand why it is he can run so fast, or why he has those cat like eyes, though I guess that explain later in the series.

Found it kinda hard to follow what was going on, it kept shifting between things, though I guess with the first episode of something that's the idea; to show all things on offer, if you see what I mean.

I'm looking forward to the rest of this series, and would suggest it to anyone who likes something a bit more dark, though not excesivly so.

I've been watching this ever since around last week. It's really getting addicting for me. xD

I love the characters, their quirky personalities appeal to me. Especially Eve and when she refused to give Train his gun back or tried putting the bell around his neck. She's so cute! <3

The art's nice, too. That and it's story is verrrrrry interesting, they keep me entertained. One thing I really want to point out is the balance between the comedic humor and the action-y scenes. That just rocks. x3

So far, I'm really enjoying the series. I'm still a bit lost in certain areas, but I'm sure they'll get cleared up later.

Ohmigosh, the Gundam Parody in episode 7 rocked! xDD I had to watch that part twice, it made me laugh so hard.

Ohsyes~ I've been watching this recently from Stevvy's suggestion like....MONTHS ago. (Yet I only get to it now xD) Its alright, I don't love it but I don't dislike it either. I think the art is actually rather simplestic, and a little on the chibi-side, but thats not necessarily bad. Its just not what I consider exceptionally wonderful or original. o__o (Though, I'm comparing it to Paradise Kiss which I like to believe is wonderfully original xD )

The characters are pretty lovable though. :) Though I don't really like that girl that bothers Train for some reason.

can't take my eyes off of you ☆彡

Watched episodes 2 and 3 yesterday, and 4, 5, 6 today.
I am enjoying this anime a lot, as you can probably tell from my signature, lol. I think I like the fact I have no idea what's going on, and not knowing what's coming next. Other anime I seen, obviously I don't know what's coming next, but you can kind of see the direction it's taking; but this is a mystery to me so far.

Creed is a pretty wierd character, seems his strength is a lot more than he let on, though Train still had no problem owning him. It's a shame that battle they had didn't last longer, as what was shown I really liked.

For some reason I am finding Sven and his 'gentlemans code' highly amusing, and I find him a really cool character overall... Interesting weapon design in the form of his brief case, something I never seen before, not just in Anime.

The nano technology part seems to be really interesting, Eve transformation was really cool, I wonder if there will be more of these type of character in the series. One thing I'm 'concerned' about is Train. He seems really cool the way he is now, but from the images of him in the opening, looks like he's gonna be, I dunno, toned down a bit?

Meh, I will continue to watch this anime, since it has really grabbed my attention, anyone know what episode it's up to now? And what day it comes out on?

Am up to date now. Ep 8 spoilers? I dunno, maybe.

I dunno if I like Train's new look, what do you guys think? Sure he's the same character, or is he...He seems more, I dunno, child like than before. He was quiet cold blooded killer, with a conscience before, and that's how I liked him. Not saying don't like him, he can still fight like a good'n, just doesn't have that same cool factor.

Strange how it's jumped forward half a year without much explination...
Yeah, that gardner guy...The Tao drink, I know it gives them power, but seem to me it gives different people different abilities. That guy seem to go crazy without much provocation, and suddenly had the power to control these flowers, and that massive flower that appeared from nowhere. It just seem to me a lot of stuff happens with no explination, and with little meaning, other than the fact they can. Anyone else feeling this or am I missing something?

I agree with you on Train's new look. He looks more like a child than a former Chronos Number to me. I mean, I totally love his bell, but he looks like there are doughnuts strapped to his new jacket. xDD

I think his new personality is awesome. He's like a more goofy Sven. Compared to before, he gets along with Sven and Eve better than before, but you can still see their tension, but it's funny. Like best friends, almost rivals. :3

Anyhoooo! I understand what you mean about the lack of explaination they seem to have and how half a year just popped out of nowhere. I got very confused about that.

About the Tao drink, I think the way it works is on how the person's personality is. Like, the gardener dyude. He was totally obsessed with flowers and extremely over-protective with them, the Tao drink probably reflected his personality and hence his form. But that's what I think it does, I maybe completely wrong.

I loved how they showed who the drunk guy from episode one was in episode eight. I only expected him to be some dyude who crashes parties, but he turned out to be that posh, suave rich guy who was hitting on Rinslet / Elena. xDD Totally awesome, he just SO rocks!

Watched episode 9 today. My opinion of this anime is going slightly downhill, I don't know if I like the direction it's taking. More 'comedy' coming in and less of the cool action and stylish enviroments of earlier episodes.

Things are become very random, I dunno if it's just me but I'm finding them to be very random. It kinda seems like things are happening for no reason, other than they can. Sven still amusing to me, but the other comedy is too childish in some places. I hope some action between the Tao users and the Cronos starts to happen soon, I was enjoying that storyline but it seems to have died off slightly, instead focusing on that wierd dude with the top hat killing people with Tao. I thought he was trying to recruit soldiers for Creeds revolution or whatever, but everyone he's encountered has died...

I'll give this anime a few more episodes to see if it gets any better, before I rule it out, but as of now I'm not thrilled by the direction it's taking.

so, Ep 10 showed up. =D
By Oyasumi, no less. I was heavily entertained by this episode.
Especially by the fire-breathing schoolgirl getting a gun to the face instead of a cat. XD

But yes, the Apostles of the Stars are most certainly an interesting bunch. For the most part, everyone besides the insect guy, the hat guy, and the gun guy blow xD.Oh, and Creed, of course.

Creed is obsessive and freakin nuts. Of course, It wouldn't be good if it were any less. And the Apostles of the stars just nuked everything. Anyone else catch this yet?
