Rubedo  : (28 July 2010 - 07:37 PM) I'll just go with "whatever comes first". Since VC's gonna be a steep learning curve and can't just headshot everything.
Flame  : (28 July 2010 - 03:55 PM) Nothing much HLOG... Drama has been pretty low. There was "The Great Merge" in which one moderator thought the forum would look better if every topic was merged into just one. Ultimatly we decided against the new look he gave us.
Ash Crimson  : (28 July 2010 - 01:42 PM) Thank you Chalryn, for that rather amusing link!
HLOG  : (28 July 2010 - 12:13 PM) Working the late shift makes me dumb. I'd forgotten I poked my head back here. So did I miss anything in the long void between my visits so many years ago?
Chalryn  : (28 July 2010 - 11:40 AM) Behold: Hard Gay Ramen!

Theferrell  : (28 July 2010 - 09:20 AM) Nanoo nu'un
Cel Merion  : (28 July 2010 - 08:50 AM) I am no longer Jack of Allterades! I shall lead my flock as the master of Nu'un!

Actual DQ9 text, I swear.
Ash Crimson  : (28 July 2010 - 06:47 AM) Look no further than Athrun's sig for the truth about VC.
Cel Merion  : (28 July 2010 - 06:11 AM) AC has been around longer so you could get it for cheap. Also, giant custom robots. ##### yeah.
Flame  : (28 July 2010 - 05:32 AM) Not Sure what AC4 is like... but VC is damn ##### awesome.
Noir  : (28 July 2010 - 03:45 AM) AC4, obviousluy. And then for Answer. Then wait for 5.
Rubedo  : (27 July 2010 - 10:51 PM) All this talk can get a man tempted. Vallkyrie Chronicles? Get it or Armored Core 4 first?

The first images of Namco's upcoming Tales of game for DS have emerged. Despite being rather blurry, the scan reveals the first character, as well as the name of the character designer - Inomata Mutsumi.

This DS Tales of title is currently scheduled for a 2006 release in Japan.

Well, since so many ''Tale of'' have been trade-marked by Namco, this is just one of many new ''Tales of'' games being released on multi-console. I, myself, am not too impress with the artwork by this character design Mutsumi. Maybe better artwork will emerge, but not liking the look of the artwork so far myself.

I think the character is actually really cute. This may not be the best art for a Tales game, but it's not necessarilly bad. The little guy has a chibi-ish style about him, I really love that! <3

Y'aaaa! I heard about a Tales of game being made for the DS, but I thought it was just a rumour. I'm very glad it's not, that's rockin'!

It's nice to see Namco making their Tales games for more than just one platform. I'm really curious how this one might play using the touchscreen! ohmy.gif

The touch screen will most likely be used for navigating the menus, I doubt it will be intergral part of the gameplay...Though dunno what kind of battle system this game will have, so maybe am talking too soon.

Like you both say, I'm not too wowed by this single image, but that's all it is. I look forward to hearing more about this game, a Tales game for my DS is an exciting prospect. happy.gif

He reminds me a ittle of Aladdin O_o .. But with spiked hair!

Bah I would love to work on getting the series, but I just can't keep affording the different consoles. I'd never play them. But from what I played of Tales of Symphonia the game was great smile.gif .. Lets hope this one is too.

As far as I know Inomata Mutsumi did almost all of the tales artwork up to now so this is a real step to be honest. Tales of eternia and destiny 2 had really, really nice artwork.

This game still seems like it might be another reason for me to buy a ds but I still don't have the money, unless I buy people really shabby christmas presents this year rolleyes.gif

Tales DS Gets Official Title

Namco has opened the official website for the first Tales game to appear on Nintendo's DS handheld. Titled Tales of the Tempest, the game will feature a 15-year old protagonist by the name of Caius Qualls. Caius is living together with his foster father in a remote village. One day a soldier from the Imperial Guard hands him a crystal, which results in a grotesque creature named Spot to attack the village. Together with his stepfather Caius fights the Spot. However because Caius' stepfather is a beastman, the other villagers do not help them. Hence Caius together with his stepfather and his childhood friend Lupia decides to escape from the village. In the middle of their retreat, priest soldiers begin to go after them. During the ensuing hunt, Caius gets seperated from his stepfather and after hearing that his real father might still be alive, embarks on a journey to solve the mystery surrounding his birth.

Tales of the Tempest will be available in Japan sometime next year.

I don't remember beat you that a ''Tales of'' game would not be coming to Nintendo DS. Namco been trade-mark a lot of ''Tales of'' titles the past few months, so I knew a few ''Tales of'' game were coming and were going to end up on different console and hand-held.

A little tidbit released:

Namco has revealed that Tempest will make use of full 3D for towns and fields of play. The game will use the stylus for its battles, which will be of the the linear motion battle variety for which the series is known.

It's unclear if this is the 'net based WiFi type of wireless play or if it's just local area.

Glad to see they making use of the DS 3D capabilites, there are a lot of games that are don't use the DS power to the full.

I'm intreeged to see how the battles will play using the stylus, since it states it will use the same real time battle system of other Tales games. Some kind of slashing the enemy perhaps, and drawing patterns/shapes for spells? Sounds likely. No mention on use of microphone yet.

Dunno what they can do with the WiFi. It would be great to travel through the game with allies on the other side of the globe over the web, but since it's an RPG, a very long type of game, seems unlikely.

It looks like Namco are going to reveal a lot more about this game rather soon.
