She once had a dream of touching the Original Zohar, and a shilouette of chaos appeared behind her. I think those may be memories from her past. And if so, maybe she is the only one who touched Zohar and didn't vanish.
In any case, I think Shion's nature is something we probably wouldn't be able to guess without playing the third episode.

Perhaps Kevin did it to her as a gift while she was sleeping or something?

- In Episode II, she calls out to Juli Mizrahi as mother in a brief moment of confusion. I dunno... the woman in the hospital bed does look similar to Juli, but I don't think it's actually her (though it could be, I guess).
- In Episode I, her hands light up in the exact same way as MOMO's when MOMO is detecting the Gnosis (and it happens at the same time as well).
Yet, I'm still expecting all of this to be because of another reason. But Shion is definitely special in some way or another. Perhaps it might have something to do with her pendant (since the Episode III info confirms there's something special about that as well). Either way, this will quite certainly be cleared up in Episode III, gotta wait just a little bit longer. =p

Juli was saving the life of her... daughter...? MOMO conciders Juli her mother, so yeah, MOMO is like a daughter, especially after all the things Ziggy told her. Anyway, so Shion just remembers her mother.
A woman named... "someweirdnameItotallyforgot Uzuki" was in the database of Proto Merkabah, which mentioned damaged realian units. However, Design Materials says that without exception Realians can't reproduce, therefore, it would be safe to assume that Shion is most definitely not a realian. Everysingle Realian you see in the game has yellow eyes, too, and Shion doesn't.
But Shion got a lot of exposure to Song of Nephilim and Proto Merkabah, and she used to hang around an Acute Neurosis (What an obsolete term...) Treatment facility with all the realians and screwed up people. Plus, Febronia, who lives in the same plane as Nephilim used to be Shion's nanny, and her "sisters" (wait a minute! Feb can't have sisters! She's a realian and doesn't have a mother!) are powering the Zohar...
Man, all this buisness makes me think...
Wilhelm -> Testaments
chaos -> These weird people like Feb and Nef
Think about it for a second. Opposing sides, like most of W/c things, and this builds up irony of Feb vs. Virgil, and... Nef knows chaos, and all this.
Whatever. I make no sense.
Shion's just weird. She sees Mizrahi on the White Beach of Nothingness in one of the screenshot. Could she have been a test subject to an expiriment of his when she was a child, and repressed it quasi-Fei-style?

Momo wasn't sensing the Gnosis like that. She sensed that they were being dragged out of hyperspace. And this happened to everyone, not just Momo and Shion.

After their hands started glowing, the whole ship was enveloped in the same blue aura, and it was dragged out of hyperspace.
I guess that means that the Elsa is a Realian as well? =p

So its no wonder that most of the time eventually we will prove ourselves wrong.
Anyway all will be revealed sooner or later.

And then Betty is her long lost sister.

However, why Shion needed to inherit Andrew's feelings is unknown.
I'm guessing Cherenkov telling Shion that he can tell she will eventually find herself there as well is still an important part of the story. Actually, that Episode III screenshot of Shion and Joachim Mizrahi on that bright white beach looks quite similar to the Beach of Nothingness where we last saw Cherenkov (I assume it must be something like that, Joachim is already dead after all). It would seem there's really something up with Shion and that weird beach.

As most of you are aware i am currently playing Ep1 at the mo.
Im sure some of you have also done this side quest, but i have been following the 'infamous hacker' sidequest now (the one where you have to trace the hacker in the Vector mainframe or summin)
Now, after you successfully capture this guy, you get an email ffrom his younger sister, who says she will unleash a deadly nanomachine across The Foundation, The Federation and Miltia, along with the usual abuse etc etc.
However this particular sentence caught my eye:
'Yes, this will affect you as well Shion, the nanomachines can kill realions as well'
'Why is this email basically trying to say that Shion is a realion' is what i am currently thinking.
So i'de like to hear some thoughts on this, also if anyone can totally disregard this and say why, i'de be most grateful, because this is kinda playing on my mind now.

lol how many times am I going to say it. . .?
Shion COULD be a life recycling variant, like the URTV's but it's doubtful she is a realian. If she was, she would know it - really it would not be hard to know right off the bat that you're made out of metal. Life recycling varients however are bioengineered.

Think Evangelion. Think Angels. For some reason, I always thought Gnosis were a lot like Evangelion's Angels. Now remember Adam. Yeah.
How much do we know about Gnosis anyway?
