I was wondering if they plan to use a new true rune for the next Suikoden. There are 27 and they have given us like 20 so eventually they will have to use the same one over again. I am wondering if they will use a true rune from a previous game and just change the time period. I don't think it will kill the experience for me though. I will still enjoy the game.

well in each game they have introduced a new rune havent they? I would think they would do the same in the new game, it would seem logical

Considering they have introduced a new True Rune in each Suikoden installment, I can say for 99,9% they will introduce a new Rune.
On the other hand, I have a strong feeling that once all the 27 True Runes are revealed, no more games will come.

Well this is where I disagree. If the series sells then they will keep putting them out. They are in the buisness to make money after all. Say they introduce the final true rune and the game sells huge in Japan, you are telling me they will just stop when people want more and they can make more money?

as great as money is, there are games that have stopped. Legend of the Dragoon was a huge seller if i remember correctly and even with all the demand, has never had a sequel. Just because it is making money does not mean for sure a new game will come out.
p.s. I could be way off on the Legend of the Dragoon statement, if i am let me know

Well they can't continue the series forever. At least I don't think it should be "too" long. As much as I love the series, I don't think I want a Suikoden 15. They should start wraping up the series soon.
The next game will probably have a new true rune, since that has been the case for every new Suikoden game. Except for Tactics.

It's a highly possibility that a new rune will be introduced since there's other nations to consider nations like Zeleat or Nagarea for the new setting or consider going back to "beginning" with Hikusaak's sucession and possibly loss of humanity.
But once all 27 True Runes are introduce, it's going to be a free-for-all that possibly that Harmonia will do guerilla tactics to bring all the runes to one place for events that will lead to the "ashen future".

As much as I would like to see a Harmonian "Perfect Order" created by Hikusaak and Harmonia, I just don't think that we will ever see a complete free for all battle, or a joining of the runes in-game. Could all of the bearers come together in one place before the end? Certainly. Will they be enemies? Doubtful. I agree though, the series shouldn't continue on to extreme series continuations. Another thing besides a new True Rune in each game, would be a new region. Eventually, they're going to run out of places to visit, past or present.

well they will most likely use a new rune for six but once all of the runes are gone, there will be a final battle of the runes and see who wins.

Well they do have another continent they have yet to start showing. I have no problem with using a rune again. As long as the story is deep and the gameplay is there I can't imagine getting bored. Maybe they will stop the name Suikoden and change the series name so instead of Suikoden 13 you could have another name. I actually think Hikusaak will be a hero in a future installment. Maybe by the eight or ninth one. I think that may be one of those games that are multiple discs long since there is a lot of story to tell there. You do make good points though.

I dunno, I see him being a "hero" like Luc was in Suikoden 3. He was in fact the first hero if you check the Suikoden timeline, but he has been missing for a few years, and gathering all those true runes and human cloning experiments, it just doesn't sound like he will go back to being a standard hero. More like a fallen angel who has some sort of great plan to save humanity, like Luc tried to do.

The first SoD would actually be Sierra, considering SoD's are heroes aswell.
Don't really know if Hiku would be a hero, I have a strong feeling that he is going to be a vilian, or at least an opponent.

I think I can say this with a definite tone in my voice. If there is not a new True Rune introduced, this will be a titanic blow to the series and it would lose most of its entire fan base for future games.
I don't know if when the 27th Rune is introduced if it'd be the last game. I think there would most likely be a game where we see all 27 True Runes somewhere in Hikusaak's conquest.

Well all Stars of Destiny aren't heroes though. They all have their purpose. Like the washing-clothes girl, farmer, elevator maker, librarian, etc.
Hikusaak is said to be the first "hero". I guess that means Tenkai Star. Or the one that leads the other 107 stars.
