If this is in the wrong section, move it as you will.
I am starting this thread to discuss with you all the advent of Public Cloud Operating systems(to my knowledge). And any effects it may have on our PC/Console gaming. For those who do not know; cloud computing is Internet-based computing, whereby shared resources, software and information are provided to computers and other devices on-demand, much like the electricity grid. To simplify, instead of running Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, etc off of your computers hard-drive. The OS is run off the internet. A noteworthy OS of this type will be released Late 2010(Chrome OS, Google's first try at the OS market).
Now to relate this to a topic relevant to this board. What are your thoughts on the following questions.
First, will the Cloud OS take the market from the "local" OS?
Second, how does this switch effect the companies that make our hardware?
And finally third, Does this affect PC gaming at all?
I look forward to what you all have to say.
