Slow news day so let's do a recap on the latest news on Suikoden IV for those that haven't heard. As it was revealed last week during Konami press release for it's planned for the Tokyo Game Show, Konami announced the current development of Genso Suikoden IV (Suikoden IV for North American gamers). Which of course confirm to all Suikoden fans that there will indeed be a Suikoden IV. Konami planned on revealing some video footage of the game through a stage presentation at the Tokyo Game Show. What platform that the game will be on hasn't officially been announced yet but we can guess that the series will continue to be on the Playstation 2.

Some small details of the game has slipped including screenshots of the game. We can probably expect Genso Suikoden IV to be release sometime in late of the first quarter 2004 in Japan. The game setting is going to be base on the seas with the story setting base on a chains of small islands. This can be confirm by looking at the screenshots. In terms of characters, some have been revealed so far. Including the return of Leknaat and a descendant of the Silverberg family. No word if any of the past Suikoden heroes will make an appearance. The character designs for this game is being handled by Kawano Junko, the person who design the characters in the first Suikoden.
Expect to see a lot of improvement in terms of the graphics from the previous Suikoden III game. More details will emerge as the Tokyo Game Show approaches.

It looks the same. I mean, Suikoden III's graphics were crystal clear, although not realistic, but still pleasurable to the eye. Unlike Suikoden I. and Guess whos doing designs this time around
Anyway, I expect a lot more from this, because I remember characters who went to the Island Countries, and I expect a little bit about that bout with Toran, Dunan vs. Harmonia in there too.

I think this would be the last Suikoden. And who is this Silverbourge decendant you're talking about? O_o And the graphics were really STUPID on suikoden 1 because he obviously didn't have good design skills on the PSX. He's gotten better this time around though, plus the fact that the PS2's engine gives him more room to work with.

Suikoden III for me was one of the best games i have played probbaly because i had not palyed I + II so it was all new to me... dunno the pics dont look that appealing to me none of the characters are anything special, and the game looks well so far not that special hopefully it can live up to and surpass Suikoden III

I'm hoping that this will be better than Suikoden 3 and have more similarities with the first two. With the great games Konami has made this may be a winner. Suikoden 1's battle graphics couldn't stand up to Beyond the Beyond, lets hope that a new game comes and blows the visuals from this game away because from what I see, I am not impressed.

1 and 2 are becoming more, and more rare. So I wouldn't plan on playing or finding them, but if you go to a local game store and find ether Suikoden or Suikoden 2, GET IT

After finishing Suikoden 3 i ended up getting Suikoden 2 of a friend.. one thing i preferd was the Strategic Battles where they rush each other and slash

suikoden 2 is great, and so is 3. hope the next installment will be just as addicting as the first three!

Well I thought SuikodenIII was a very good game, But i did not like the idea of them splitting up into groups. I hope the graphics are better, and that they have a more relistic battle senario.

I've played all of them since they came out I absolutely love the series, My favorite was part II but I have enjoyed all 3 I cant wait to see 4 keepup the good work.

Suikoden 3 was straight foward indeed...but so are all RPGs these days. It seems that RPGs these days (PS2) are not head taking as they back with the PSOne. But being straight foward doesn t necessary mean "bad game". Look at Final Fanrasy X, the game was almost guiding you to the clues.
All this this to say Suikoden 3 was a great game....I m waiting for the 4th and I m sure it ll be great too.

Suikoden 1, good but not great! Suikoden 2, probably the best game that ever will exist .Suikoden 3, was fun to play..but not what I had in mind and not anything alike the two first ones! Maybe its the graffic but it just did'nt have the feeling!I wonder how you load the suikoden 1 data when you start suikoden 2! dont get it! and wasnt there a side-quest to suikoden 2?
Anyway Suikoden still is the best game!

Yeah and it didn't feel like Suikoden because the game creator left right in the middle of the game development. And as for the transfer file, you have to have a save file at the final save point in Suikoden 1 in the same memory card you use when starting a new game in Suikoden 2. Choose yes when it asks you to upload the file and you will get the side quest with Tir McDohl and he will join your party after about half of Suikoden 2 is completed. He's in banner village.

Suikoden 2 to me is like the best they ever made. The 3rd Suikoden like left so many holes it's not even funny. So they better do a Damn good job for the 4th one.

I also thought that Suikoden 2 was the best! and I watched a trailer for number 4 and it looked like Viki and Jeane are at least going to be in it. but that could have changed, ( i haven't seen that trailer in a while, took to long to load)

and wow! i just noticed that most of the people who wrote in this forum was like last year! wow, do i feel stupid! well i'm still going to do this though!

and I personally didn't like the 3rd one. i couldn't even finish it! but i did watch my sister play it, so i know like about 90 percent of what happens in the game.

sudiuken 3 sucked ass. 1 and 2 were so rich in story lines and characters. i could have cried at the end of 2. and poor gremino? where was the emotion in s3? the ending sucked more than anything ive ever seen. i think i liked the ending for bubble bobble way better. there was no ending in s3. no cool games. s2 had the cooking contests and games and wayyyy more in depth story line. personally, i perfer the graphics of s2, but if 3 was dont right, where there was more emphsisi on story...

I loved the first Suikoden from the moment I first played it. Then I got Suikoden 2, which was even better. I was expecting another great experience with Suikoden 3, but was sorely disappointed.

The new characters were lame, the story wasn't as interesting, and the music sucked. Another problem was the battle system; it was just slow and awkward. As others have already said, it didn't feel like a Suikoden game.

Suikoden 4:

Outlaw, yes that is the main character. I like his other outfit better.

This is probably going to be delayed. I don't want to get to happy over something that may be delayed but the supposed time of the Suikoden 4 release date is.....

Well I can say that the fourth one is good.....better than the third, but i don't know about the first and second one for i haven't played...yet....

the main character is not really an outlaw...well he do is for about three daays but nothing major.....Vikki is in the game, jeane is on the cover but havent gotten her yet.....and the release date was 19 not 16.....and the silverberg familly is there again.....bof...gotta go sleep....

well im derrick from arkansas i had my share of exp. as far rpg's i do love them all that i played suikoden has been my all time favorite i think suikoden II was the best i havent played III but im looking forward to it you know how you get side traced a little with females, jobs and everything else well that kinda got to me but nothing come between me and my rpg's anyways just though ill drop a line keep'em coming cause im master these games like every other day and im waiting for more




p.s : i wonder if the old guys like flik and victor gonna be in suikoden III and IV?

Viktor and Flik were not returning characters in either Suikoden 3 or 4, unfortunitely.
In fact, Suikoden 4 only had 4 or 5 returning characters, and nothing spectacular really, besides one who has his own sidequest.

Man suikoden 1 n 2 were great i like 2 the best its actully my all time favert game but they screwed up #3 it sucked! but 4 is much beter sept i didnt get why the hell the brought back ted n not Tir, it would only make sence! but n e way over all its still my fav series n i hope # 5 is good n mabey flick n victor will be back cuz they took um out n they went down hill so ya.
