Working Designs, currently working on the translation of Growlanser II and Growlanser III, has revealed that the two strategy rpg games will no longer be sold separately. The two games instead will be sold as a two game disc package called Growlanser: Generations.

This change of direction is due to a difference of agreement with Sony of America. Despite that, the translation of the games will go ahead as plan. Expect the two disc game package to be release with some extras as well. Just like with previous games from Working Designs. No word yet on an official release date.

This means it may cost a little less. I would of saw these games for $30-40 each. This way it may be around $50.
This may become a game that no RPG Gamer could ever pass up happy.gif

But what I don't understand is why Atlus gave the rights to this to Working Designs.. To much of a risk?? I think Atlus shouldn't of sold the rights.

And what exactly is Growlanser...? Granted I'm a fan of both developers..

I ask the same question as Wes but also Who is Working Desgins also?

Never heard of their games but maybe i have yet im not sure...and could you explain more about these rpgs. please

Working Designs is one of the best companies to me. They translate Jap. games into english and add a few bonuses. They translated Alundra, Lunar 1 & 2. and a bunch of others. But,as for the two games, I know nothing about them.

To tell you the truth all I can say is that this game is old school. Characters 2D and what not. Pretty cool. happy.gif The thing that really got me wanting this game is the Anime Style and the fact its fantasy.
From the screen shots I have seen I think it may be a strategy game, but I am not sure.

Seein how they translated Lunar 1&2 I guess i can see whats so big about these guys. My cousin is addicted to lunar yet wont play it becuase its never open and its special edition and all the fillin. You know what i mean. As for me ill have to get a ps and try these games

I just love the sets working designs has put out, I always grab two, one to play and one to never get touched. I will wait for great games. Man I'll tell you it's crazy I even collect a copy of each art design as well.

OF course this is going to be slated for PS2 only I'm sure... Damn, I love working designs and they always do such a solid job.

I played Warsong, it's also called Langrisser. Unfortunately, the first one was kind of crappy and the second was insanely hard. I'm both excited and buying it.

And..just in case (not likely) that this wasn't mentioned in the review, this game is apparently a re-release of the Ps1 sequal to Warsong.

Okay, after reading the rest of the thread, we're all apparently completely retarded.

Growlanser is the Ps1 sequel to the old genesis Srpg (That's Strategy Role Playing Game, See Also: Final Fantasy Tactics, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness) called Langrisser in Japan, Warsong in America. Warsong boasted 2d sprites, complexish units, and lots of chesslike action. Warsong 2 improved further upon this by adding better graphics, zooming in a bit more, adding some techniques, special abilities for heroes, and I'm pretty sure bonuses depending on terrain.

I like how I'm the youngest here and I'm telling YOU all about Genesis RPGs.

I'd tell everyone about them, but the only good Genesis RPG's were Shining Force 1 and 2.

=D

Heya!! I just picked up Growlanser Generations. I really like it so far. I'd like to get a thread going where those that are playing it can talk about it.
