Sony has now launch its Harddrive bundle with Final Fantasy XI Online to stores across North America today. Depending on your location some will get it as early as today while others will get it by late this week. The Harddrive bundle will sell for a retail of $99.99 U.S at your local video game store. Network adapter is sold separately for those that still don't have online capability on your Playstation 2. Final Fantasy XI is the Playstation 2 first Massive Multi-Player Online Role-Playing game which utilizes a Harddrive.

FFXI Online will allow players to create their own characters, encompassing a variety of races, facial features, size, hair-style, and attributes. Players will be able to play at their own pace and form parties with other players while embarking on multiple adventures. Various communication tools have been incorporated with FFXI Online to assist interaction between players, including easy-to-use chat and messaging systems.

The virtual world of FFXI Online is called Vana'diel with vast environments ranging from mountains, forests, ice plains, deserts, oceans, rivers, castles and dungeons.
Vana'diel is composed of three unique nations: the Republic of Bastok, the Kingdom of San d'Oria, and the Federation of Windurst.

Storyline Overview

Twenty years have passed since the great Crystal War, when the forces of darkness gathered and evil threatened the peaceful kindoms of Vana'deil. An alliance was formed to rid Vana'dial of the evil; but after a narrow victory, the threat has returned. As the beastman organize their forces and make their adventure towards the nation of San d'Oria, Windurst and Bastok, a desperate call goes out to adventurers around the globe for help.

Playonline is free. Tetra Master is free for first 30 days but you need to purchase a content ID to start playing Tetra Master. The cost is $1 with first month free. Monthly charge for Final Fantasy XI is $12.95 with the first 30 days free.

Final Fantasy XI is rated Teen for 13 year olds and up. If you are in the age between 13-17, you will need a guardian or parent to sign up for you.
