*Spoilers for those who haven't read the manga*

I was just watching episode 101, and I was thinking.
Now that Sasuke is already recovered and out of the hospital... does that mean they intend to skip the fight scene between Naruto and Sasuke?
Because if I recall, he asked Naruto to fight him as soon as he recovered, and Naruto came to visit him in the hospital.

I heard rumors that they thought the manga was a bit too dark and didn't want the anime to take the same direction.
But did they actually skip this event, or are they planing on adding it later on?
SonicX_Zero
~lol~ Ep.101 is a filler ep. Hiku, also ep.102. This has been mentioned in Narutofan, my guess is that since the production for the anime eps. has been quite fast these past few mos. compared to the manga so they needed some filler in the animes.
Athrun
Ghaaw, I hope so.
But this is what worries me. At the end of Episode 100, when the 5th Hokage is officially announced, you see Sasuke leaning against a tree, in his blue outfit.
Seems like he already left the hospital, and that alone would change the story a bit, wouldn't it?
SonicX_Zero
He did? I should have watched ep.100 >.< If that is the case...then Damn them!! They skipped the Naruto vs. Sasuke fight on the top of the hospital, or maybe they'll change some things in the anime. >.<
Athrun
This is from Episode 100.
It appears he already left the hospital, which means the story has most likely already been changed. I just hope they don't skip that part completely. =/

SonicX_Zero
Oh crap....>.< If my guess is correct then they skipped the Naruto vs. Sasuke fight, and then move on with the storyline. The other way would be that they'll change the place where Naruto and Sasuke would fight, instead at the top floor of the hospital then probably somewhere else.

It was because of that fight that Sasuke's problem is revealed, he has this superiority complex thingy with Naruto. After the fight, he would have a discussion with Kakashi and then Orochi's Jounins would arrive at the village and talk to Sasuke. Pretty much that is how the story goes before Sasuke left the village.
guardian84
Perhaps they've decided to end the anime soon, cos if moves along the manga's storyline, it would end like in episode 200 perhaps. As we all know, few animes follow the entire storyline of the manga. ^^;;

But yeah, my guess is that they're planning to end the anime so they're changing the storyline for the anime. It's just my guess. Please prove me wrong.
Eric
SPOILER! I wrote it in white because against the light blue it's hard to see. Feel free to highlight.
in the manga, doesn't sasuke fight naruto and then join Orochimaru?

I saw the preview for ep.102, and it looks like they won't be following the manga plot. Me and my friend have a guess that they don't want it to be as dark as the manga moodwise, and also they might want to alter the story so it ties into the upcoming movie better (IE keeping certain characters around, <cough> <cough>)
guardian84
Err, Eric. I think Hiku mentioned about what you've said in his first post already. Either that, or it seemed like a repeat post to me. Of course, your guess regarding the movie part may be correct, that the anime is tied to the movie. It's logical.
SonicX_Zero
Bah!?, ep. 102 was not included in the manga and do any of you read news? It was already stated in Narutofan that ep.102 is just a filler ep. it wasn't because of the dark anime thingy that ep.101 and 102 are so ar out. -sigh- Although ep.101 is also in the pilot chapter.... dry.gif
Athrun
Kain, is Episode 102 also a filler episode?
It didn't seem like it to me after watching it. Because they were assigned to work for a person they know from a previous episode, if I'm not mistaken.
Either way, Sasuke is definitely out of the hospital already, right?
And now there's the appearance of a new ninja as well.
Its totaly off track from the manga it seems.

SonicX_Zero
Yes Alex, its also a filler episode. Simply because things weren't supposed to turn out like the way they are in the anime.

+Spoilers+
In the manga, right after ep.100 Rock Lee was supposed to have his surgery. While after Naruto and Sasuke fought at the roof, Kakashi had a talk with Sasuke then when Kakashi left Sasuke at the tree (yes they were having a conversation on top of a tree), Orochi's Jounins came and beat the crap out of Sasuke with their lv.1 cursed seals. Shortly after that Sasuke decided to go and meet with the Jounins outside the town...I think you can follow the rest after that event. happy.gif

+end spoiler+

So basically that should've been how the story progressed from ep.100. Instead they decided to make a filler ep.
Athrun
But isn't a filler something extra inbetween, and not something that replaces something else?
Because even if this didn't happen in the manga, it seems that they will skip that scene between the two on the hospital roof. Or at least the story will be altered somehow. It already has.
If it goes on like this, it might mean that the next 100 episodes are fillers. =p

With filler episodes, I thought it meant an episode that can't be placed in any chronological order in time, so it won't interfear with the main story.
For example, this could have happened some time after the Chuunin exam, before Orochimaru attacked Konoha.
But this definitely had to have happened after Sasuke was hospitalized, and therefor it does alter the story of the series.
SonicX_Zero
Although I think this may sound stupid, but the anime might take a different path or they really need some rebounding to do. I just read some news at Narutofan and thats why I didn't bother dl ep.101 and 102.

QUOTE (Narutofan.com)
Thirdly, (and this time I do mean thirdly) many people have probably noticed that Episode 101 of the anime series was a filler episode that didn't actually take place in the manga. And if you were hoping this would be the last time that happens, some bad news for you is coming in about 1 second. Episode 102 of the series, and from what I hear Episode 103 and possibly more have nothing to do with the manga. Episode 102 is entitled: Crucial Moment - New Mission, Sense of Duty with Human Relation To Rescue the Tea Country! - sounds interesting.

Btw I forgot to ask, did Sasuke made an appearance in this ep. or who were other characters involved in this ep.?
Athrun
Not only does he make an appearance, he is on the team thats assigned to this mission.
Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura.
He seems to be normal. Not depressed or full of hatred as he is in the manga.
Which is odd, because nothing really triggered that emotion in him. I don't see any reason why it hasn't happened yet, and frankly, it's very strange that he still sees Naruto as a friend, and still cares about him and Sakura the way he always has.

I think you are right. It probably will take a different path than the manga. it seems it already has. This episode ended with a so to say, to be continued...
It seems this is part of the main story now. At least when it comes to the anime.
Not sure how similar it's going to be compared to the manga anymore.

But I truly hope they don't include the Super Sayan Sasuke part. =p

*

XD Indeed, but now I think about it I think it was alright considering that we have overlooked that Sasuke still hasn't used his lv.2 cursed seal which like you said Super Saiyan Sasuke. xD

Anyhow just read the dled the raw chap.232 and yes they are at it again. >.< -sigh- Oh please *coughSasu-gaycough* err....I mean Sasuke come back to Konoha. =P
guardian84
So my guess was right. The anime is moving to a different storyline. Might be similar to Rurouni Kenshin's anime, whereby the initial part follows the storyline of the manga, and the latter parts taking a different path.

I think these filler episodes will continue after 103. My guess again is that the following episodes probably won't follow a distinctive storyline anymore.
Athrun
Did anyone see Episode 104 yet? It has a new opening and ending theme.
In it you see the shadows of what looks to be Naruto and Sasuke, fighting on the hospital roof. And the theme seems to focuss a bit on the two of them, being enemies.

Mistik
The new opening was joygasmic. But i was kinda hoping the anime was going to go into a whole new direction. Twice the narutos =)
Eric
Bwahahahahaah! The new intro, I just saw, and my friend who reads the manga says that it's all from the manga. This means, with any luck, that the anime will be returning to the manga's plot, which it veered from with this...silly race story. Personally, I can't wait. Mainly because I saw Rock Lee healed. He's like, th ebest character ever, they need to fix him so he can woop ass again.

Either Enemies or Lovers. I can't decide.
And they decided to go hippy mode.

But, yeah, Returning to the manga is a good thing. happy.gif
SonicX_Zero
Hmm...anyhow that is the part that I've been bugging you about Hiku. Anyhow the current manga arc *I think* is almost finished, you might wanna check out the manga. I'm just waiting for them to go back to the manga storyline so that I'll also go back on downloading the anime eps. as well. happy.gif With that said, all we can do now is wait.
Athrun
Well the fight is definitely taking place in the next episode, so the anime will follow the manga after all. They just got to the fight in a different way.
I like this better than the manga. They really had no reason to become mortal enemies in the manga, but at least in the anime, you can see the hatred building up inside of Sasuke.

And from this point on, I won't like Sasuke anymore.
Yeah lets hate Naruto for being stronger than you, and saving your life.

That's the way it looks to be to me aswell, though I haven't quite caught up on the manga yet. blush.gif A simple giveaway here is in the below pic. Notice he's not wearing the Konoha Headband thing? ohboy.gif

LoL~ I agree, Hiku-chan. =p Though, I never liked him from the start, this takes my Sasuke hatred level to a whole new level. -.-

Anyhow, I'm glad the anime won't be cutting any corners with this.. Sounds like a rather vital part to the story. Too bad I'm no where near this ep, anyway.
Eric
Personal theory:

This whole reace plot is just supposed to be something where Naruto demonstrates awesome powah adn Sasuke gets jealous, triggering the manga plot. I think they realized it would be weird for Sasuke to challenge Naruto right after the Gaara thing, like they want someone weaker that Sasuke can't beat but Naruto does (Cue the lame rain guy with fruity umbrella).

Hiku, they had a reason to be mortal enemies in the manga. It was more or less explained in chapters 176 and 177. I think you already those chapters, well unless you missed it. Anyhow it was those chapters where the next episode will be based upon. happy.gif
FusionNoJutsu
O.O IS Sakura FINALLY going to become a beast in her own right with her new training? Will Naruto be able to stick to his Ninja way and keep his promise and finally defeat Sasuke and bring him back? Do you really care? Stay tuned! XD
Athrun
Episode 114 was awsome. At least Chouji was.
100 times stronger. o.o'
Plus that butterfly thing looked cool. And he became thin. =D
*I wonder what Ino is going to say about that* ^^;

[lp]
Chouji really kicked some ass in this episode. I'm glad he did. And that whole butterfly thing was pretty cool, as well as symbolic. It actually reminded of the whole process of the catterpillar becomming a butterfly, because he was fat and all before he got those wings. But why oh why did he have to die. Just when he was really going somewhere, sigh. Well I guess there was no other way around it considering he took the red pill. "This fist is heavier than life!" Eh, awesome. happy.gif
Rockman Zero
Yea Chouji is the man and I can't wait for the future episodes and more of the manga. This episode was great and the end got me right here :pats chest: tongue.gif

lp you don't need to black out info about episodes that have already been released. That's what we discuss in the topic anyway.
We already kinda talked about some spoilers from the manga. This is mostly an open discussion about the whole series, both anime and manga.
I'll black this part out anyway though.

*spoiler from manga*

Well I think he's alright though. He survives even though taking that pill, and Ino seems to like the thin him.

Ohh, Chouji was allright ? Then what about that Hyuga boy ? I supposed he's also dead, just like Chouji was.
SonicX_Zero
Oki doki, this topic rebounded back ohmy.gif

+
Anyway Chouji and Hyuuga survived, Neji was saved right in the nick of time but they had to do this operation which took several hours which was headed by Tsunade's assistant. While Chouji survived because Tsunade was able to make the antidote that was in the Akamichi clan's book of something.

Anyhow, the latest chap. of the manga really rocked I suggest you people grabbing it.

+

and that was my dos sentimos.
Athrun
*Manga spoilers*
You're right Kain. The latest manga chapter was great. Probably my favorite one so far.
I just know they are going to be censouring stuff in the anime. The way Kabito got hit by that rock was brutal. ;_;
And they're probably going to play that sad song that played when Haku died too... ;_;
I hope Kakashi kicks this guys ass, and tortures him to death now >.<
I've never seen Kakashi's white Shakra in the anime before though. Wonder why.

Adelaine
Waitasec... the anime's catching up to the manga? *calculates the timing between how quickly the mangascans and the fansubs are released*. That would mean the anime and manga are only a month to two months apart, now. Given how notorious the Naruto pacing in, wouldn't that mean the anime might be put on hold for a while?

And what's the latest on the movie?
Athrun
I don't think it's that close yet. One new Naruto episode every week.
It's probably still 40 episodes something behind I would imagine.

As for the movie I haven't heard anything new. Seems that it will be out on DVD in a few months time.
_Seph_
I just read the latest chapter....and Obito went out just like that? wow...I guess i got used to some 5-10+ chpaters when someone dies o_O;; Maybe we'll get to see kakashi's chidori + sharingan next time.

oh, and does anyone know how long Kakashi's gaiden will last?
SonicX_Zero
I guess the Kakashi gaiden might end soon. Anyhow, like Hiku said, expect that Obito scene be censored out in the anime, or maybe it wont. But one thing is for sure though, the next chap. will also be a good one.

Another thing, the reason why the anime has catched up because every week they always have a release while the manga is soo random. Just like that one week where there was no release because it was rumored that rival companies stole all the copies. xD
guardian84
laugh.gif

In case there are still people who haven't figured it out, Chouji became thin due to the effects of the pills. Burns calories much faster. That explains why he is 100 times stronger.

I totally love Chouji. And I love what happens next. ^^ Go, Neji!

And yeah, Obito went out, just like that. -_-lll Uchiha, eh? At least he gave Kakashi a good present.
SonicX_Zero
Gene...your still up at this time eh... XD

Yeah I agree though, Obito was out just like that...like a snap of a finger and bam give you my sharingan. ohmy.gif Btw, Rin is still a ninja right? If I remember correctly she was that ANBU Kakashi met when he visited some graveyard. Perhaps I could have mixed it all up, but what I want to know, does anyone have any idea if Rin has made any appearance at the present?
Rockman Zero
Was she the one that met Kakashi at the monument the day of the Thirds funeral?

You mean this girl?

I don't think that's Rin. She doesn't look much like her, and Rin had brighter hair color.
I think this girl is a friend of Hayate.

Rin is probably dead. Remember what Kakashi told Sasuke before?

SonicX_Zero
OMG I forgot that one. ohmy.gif ~lol~ ok so I guess, the next part of the Kakashi gaiden would be Rin's death perhaps.

Anyhow, why do we blackout anime spoilers, and yet the manga not, just leave them on, or worse place some scans. ohmy.gif huh.gif XD
Athrun
Well it's mostly an open Naruto discussion about anything, but no need to black out parts from the anime.
But about the manga, I assume we are going to talk a lot about it in here, and blacking it all out will look kinda silly after a while with 60% of the page in black.
I'll just put an *Manga spoiler* indicator when I'm talking about the manga. It's said in the first page that this topic may contain spoilers from the manga.
But putting out an indicator should help fix that, I think?
guardian84
Put it in the topic. *Manga spoilers within! Do NOT open!*

That girl was Hayate's girlfriend, I believe.

Let's all look forward to Rin's death in the next chapter. ^^;;
Athrun
Pretty good episode.
I liked this part when Neji said,
"And by the way..."
"Game over!"

I haven't read the manga on this part so I don't know if he connects the 64 hits or not. Most likely he won't judging by the trailer for the next episode. But I'm looking forward to seeing it.
SonicX_Zero
yeah here's my spoiling 2 cents again. ;D

Anyway, in that scene....yes it does connects, however, it wasn't enough for Neji to defeat that Jounin instead the battle got extended and it was until then that Neji figured out the way to defeat him. But yeah I really found that scene of Neji really cool, and I thought it was the end of that ***. XD

spoiler end.
Athrun
Ah that sounds great. I'd love to see that Jutsu connect again. It's probably my favorite second to Itachi's God of the sun.
Seluna
o.o Wow, there's a lot of spoilers...

Questions!

1) Who is Obito? He appears in manga or anime? If in manga, which volume?

2) About Itachi's God of Sun, is it the black flames thingy? Because the manga is not very clear about it... at least the version I read. (Chinese Traditional by Tong Li)

3) Where is the anime up to, in accordance to the manga?

Moi's comments (contains some manga spoilers):

Neji is teh uber-cool! *squeals* Oh man, he's real clever, being able to use his weak point to his advantage that way. Kimimaru is scary... though he's quite cute ^^; a bit like the younger Orochimaru. Is it possible that Shikamaru and Temari forms some sort of relationship later in the story?
