Leading strategy role playing game publisher NIS America Inc.
announced today its plans to release Makai Kingdom for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. The North American release of Makai Kingdom is scheduled for July 2005. NIS America is the force behind such popular strategy rpg games as Phantom Brave and La Pucell Tactics.

Makai Kingdom is an attempt to rewrite history gone terribly wrong. Lord Zetta the ruler of netherworld brought destruction upon himself. When all seemed lost, three evil overlords appear before Lord Zetta to help him recreate his world. Now Lord Zetta wages war on a new world to become the supreme ruler once again, while the three overlords entertain themselves by creating more trouble for Lord
Zetta. Players will take on the role of Lord Zetta to command an army of determined fighters to reclaim what has righteously been his, the netherworld. Gamers will battle enemies ranging from vicious demons to determined soldiers with both modern and ancient warfare. Slash your enemies with the good old broadsword or blast your way through with the deadly rocket launcher; the choices are yours. Makai Kingdom introduces a new summoning system referred to as the INVITE system that summons your facilities that contain army units to the battlefield. Every facility summoned to the battlefield will contain your troops that are then deployed to battle your hated enemies. In Makai Kingdom, battle maps are randomly generated, offering a new gaming experience every
time you play. With unlimited variations of maps, gamers can expect countless hours of game play.

Yep, another title from NI. As always, they're trying a new battle system, but I wonder if it will be well received? Many didn't like the changes that came with Phantom Brave, so here's hoping Phantom Kingdom does much better and appeals to the fans of the company and this game series this time around.

Sounds like quite an interesting game that will well worth the challenge. I found Phantom Brave to be the hardest of the three NI titles I've played and I'm willing to beat Phantom Kingdom will be just about up there when it comes to a challenge.

I'm not calling Makai Kingdom. I like Phantom Kingdom.

So it's definitely going to be called "Makai Kingdom" then?

I'm looking forward to this game. I hope this game'll have a lot of humor in it like Disgaea. And the "Invite" system seems promising.

Phantom Kingdom is a great name for a tite, but I'm okay with Makai Kingdom.

The battle system has changed, as expected. So I hope this time the battle system will improved and will satisfiy me as much as the previous strategy RPG games from Nippon Ichi had. (Disgaea, La Pucelle & Phantom Brave.

The storyline seems interesting, as usual.
