Ep. II, second disc. He's the first of three bonus bosses you open up by defeating the dark Erde Kaiser. So beating him, while not crucial, has become a matter of stupid pride. If anybody does have any tips, I'll thank you now because I won't be on again till Wednsday (gotta love SAT prep classes).

Phobos Rigas? You can make things very easy by using a little trick involving Erde Kaiser. I'll quote from a faq (those blue lines are my comments xP ):
QUOTE
Shion has the EP Half, Double Power and Combo Boost skills equipped. If Ether Burst is available, switch it with Double Power.
Before you initiate a Break on the boss, cast Ether Spear and Aura Sword ether on Shion (because Phobos Rigas is vulnerable to Aura attacks). Use your other two characters to initiate a Break on the boss and Air or Down it (I suggest airing it, it can't counter-boost that way), then build your chained Aura attacks up to around 10 or so. When your other two characters' Stock Gauge is empty, make sure one boost remains left for Shion: boost her, then release Erde Kaiser Fury on a "critical" or "ether effect up" Event Slot. If the current Event Slot isn't the one you need, if you have the Combo Boost skill equipped, you can have Shion cast Boost 1 and then boost herself until the needed Event Slot comes up (The Combo Boost skill allows you to boost any character at any time, disregarding the rules of when you can normally boost a character. If you don't have it, just cast Boost 1 and boost another character, then have that character cast Boost 1 as well and then just boost Shion again). Since "ether effect up" is rare, I suggest shooting for a "critical" Event Slot. The damage done will range somewhere from 50000 and upwards.
Although the damage I was able to do using this trick was never more than about 30000 (maybe Shion wasn't strong enough in my game). But taking off about 25000 at the start of the battle shouldn't be that hard. Make sure to use this trick to finish the boss off, don't first use it and then try to take off the boss' remaining HP. Because as with all bosses, he'll become much harder when he's low on HP.
With this trick, the battle should be fairly easy ^^ . You can use the trick on Baal Zebul (the other optional super-boss) as well. Although Baal Zebul is weak to ice attacks, so in that battle you'll be using Ice Sword and building up chained Ice attacks instead. The only optional super-boss you can't use this trick on is Mikumari, because it's an E.S. fight (in my opinion the hardest fight in the game!).
Hope that helps

What level should I get Shion up to in the Dammerung to steal 21 awakenings from Orgulla, and do you guys have any strategies to do so?

You're planning on getting 21 Awakenings II from Orgulla? Gosh, it
is possible, but it's going to take a lot of preparation, patience and... uhm, more patience. I'd rather beat the Patriarch 20 times (very easy when you get Erde Kaiser during the sidequest after beating the game at least once) then do it this way. But there's an entire faq about how to get 21 Awakenings II from Orgulla. Since that faq would easily fill at least one page of this topic, just go here:
clickieThe name of the faq is "GS Campaign #32 Guide". I don't think you're gonna find a better way then what's mentioned in that faq if you want those 21 Awakenings II

You people are most likely tired of helping me. x.x;

Oct 10 2005, 10:52 AM
Ah, I remember that puzzle. To level the water equally on both sides, you need to do this (quoted from a faq):
QUOTE
The water levels must be zero on both sides in order to progress anywhere, so here's what you need to do. Operate the terminals in this order: number 6, number 5, number 6, and then number 2 twice. At this point they should both be at zero and you should have no problem going down the left side and over to the right side of the room.
That should do it =) .

I assume you're talking about the place in Labyrinthos where you have to shoot those buttons to turn the walls? I'll quote from a faq which tells you how to get both the chest and reach the door (there are actually 2 chests to get, as you'll see below):
QUOTE
Now in the next room there are five little turnable objects. Start by turning the lower right once, lower left three times, upper right three times and the middle once. Go down the stairs and follow the path to a 'Boost Max.' Leave the room to reset the puzzle. Once it's reset, turn the lower left once, the upper right once, the upper left three times, the lower right once and the middle twice. Go down and follow the path to six 'Class Upgrade B.' Wihtout leaving the room this time run to the top again. Turn the upper left twice, the middle once, the lower left twice and the middle one more time. Now head for the door at the Northwest corner.

does anyone know where segment adresses 13 and 16 are? i you could tell me that, i would appreciate it. (in episode II)
Xerno
Oct 15 2005, 03:55 PM
Lets see...
#13 can be found in the Ormus Stronghold. It's in a room that you had to pass shortly before reaching Orgulla. You had to make some sort of "bridge" using the blocks in that room. With the other blocks (on the other side of the room) you can optionally make a second bridge leading to Segment Address #13 (it's quite easy to do: when you shoot a block it will only move one square, so you can hardly do anything wrong).
#16 can be found by completing the 16th GS Campaign mission. To trigger the mission, you need to speak to a man named Margoyles on the 2nd floor of the "Our Treasure" hotel (as you probably know, it's in the Kukai Foundation). Then go to the "East 6" garage to the west of the hotel (it's on the next screen). In there, destroy the car and talk to the man that was underneath it. He'll give you the music box Margoyles is looking for. Just give the music box to him and you'll be rewarded with a Music Sheet. Now go to the Ironman bar and play the song of the Music Sheet on the piano in there, and Segment Address #16 will be revealed.
That should help. Oh, and if you have any more questions later, you can just post them in the main help topic. =)

This isn't exactly me legitimately looking for help, but perhaps some advice. I'm heading off to Labyrinthos now, and I already know that there's only one place after that. The maximum levels for characters is 99 like with how a lot can be. Now I know on Episode I, my guys beat the game easy in their 50's. My characters on average are just level 30. So will I be needing to do a lot of leveling and preparing soon, or possibly immediately for me to stand a chance against some of the monsters and bosses to come?
Xerno
Oct 21 2005, 01:23 PM
The first time I beat Episode 2, my characters were only about lvl. 35+ (but the final boss gave me a lot of trouble then). Now my characters are lvl. 45 (some 46), and the final boss still gave me a good challenge, but it wasn't nearly as hard as it was on lvl. 35+ (and things can get rather frustrating if you have lower levels). Of course, I also got myself some nice equippable skills while leveling up, but I think your levels are good enough for the moment.
But if you get into trouble later, you can always retreat and level up some more. There is no "point of no return", so you won't have to worry about that. ^^

I'm still REALLY early in the game. Where the gnosis attack the ship and Shion is running around, right before KOS-MOS activates on her own.
Well my question is, when Shion is running around, and your suposed to get back to your room or the Vector station, you get corerd between gnosis going 1 way, and you can't have them chase you to the hologram like the other 1. The other way is the same. WHERE THE HECK AM I SUPOSED TO GO!? CONFUSION!
Xerno
Dec 21 2005, 06:09 AM
Hmmm, I'm not sure where you are. I'm playing the section right now to see what to do, and after the hologram Gnosis, I've encountered:
- A Gnosis that you can outrun by hiding in a room (to the north of the hologram place). The Gnosis will pass the room without noticing Shion.
- A Gnosis that you have to throw out into space by opening the emergency hatch nearby.
- 2 Gnosis that run after Shion, which you can dodge by running back and circle around a small structure in the center of the room. Then you just run on to where the Gnosis came from (they're now chasing behind Shion, but you'll lose them eventually).
After getting past those last 2 Gnosis, you just keep heading south, passing through a few oversized doors along the way. Then KOS-MOS will be with you soon enough, so I'm guessing you were having trouble with one of the Gnosis encounters I've listed above. Did that help? If you need to know more, let us know. ^^

I have a question about Episode 2.
I am in Labyrinthos right now, or whatever that place is called, but for some reason (since I know it is big) I don't wanna play further, also I wanna make sure that I have everything, not wanna miss stuff, like attacks and so on, which I probably did a couple of times.
So how long will Labyrinthos take, and should I take care of other things first?
Also, what's up with this fishing thing, some guy asked me to fish, but when I was fishing it said I had to make circles with the right analog stick, but when I did nothing happened..?

Hmmm, hard to say. I myself did all of the (crappy) GS Campaign missions that were available at this point, but I don't remember if there was anything really useful (you nonetheless always get Class & Skill Upgrade items this way, which is always good to further improve your characters). And personally I don't think Double Techs are ever worth it (except for eye candy, maybe =p ). Some of the Secret Keys that unlock new skills on the list can be very useful, though.
I'd say if you didn't have much trouble in the Ormus Stronghold and fighting Orgulla, you should be fine in Labyrinthos as well. If you want to do any other stuff first, the GS Campaign Missions is pretty much all there is. I wouldn't know which ones are available at this point... I'd say check some faqs, but the GS Campaign faqs I've seen aren't very good. =/

Erm... I never had any problems with that. Although I know you need to rotate the stick
slowly, if you do it too fast (even if only a little), it won't work. That's all I can say about this. ^^''

QUOTE (FaytLeingod)
i was wondering is there anyway to finish that GS quest with the one that you have to pay off captain matthew's dept before the game ends?
Before finishing the game? That's unlikely... but there are a few tricks:
- In the battle with Orgulla ( <3 ), you can steal an Awakening II from her everytime she switches between her 2 different modes (her regular self and Manes). Awakening items sell for 500 000! But since you need to deal a certain amount of damage to force her into changing modes, you can't keep this up forever. (Although I've seen a faq on Gamefaqs that tells how to get 20 Awakenings II from her, but that takes a looong time... I think it's even harder doing it that way oO )
- In the 2nd battle with Margulis, you can steal an Awakening III from every new shadow Margulis summons. If you're good at this fight (unlike me =p ), you can probably keep this going for a while.
- And finally, every time you load your clear data, you can play the last section of the story again and go fight the Patriarch to steal an Awakening IV from him each time. But yes, you will have to view all the events after that battle again (and fight the final "boss" again as well), all the way up to the ending. So this is a very slow method... but on the plus side, you can do this an unlimited amount of times (and your characters will level up a lot, which is good if you want to fight the optional super bosses).
You'll need 20 Awakening items total (if you don't care about the Double Techs you can learn from them, you can also steal and sell an Awakening I from Albedo on Disc 1). And yes, that GS Campaign mission is indeed a pain in the rear. =p

ok you are talking about stealing these items, i'm guessing this is a skill u need to unlock.

Also wot GS Campaign number is the one where u pay off the debt, and wot do u get out of it?
Xerno
Jan 22 2006, 12:16 PM
All you need to steal items is the skill "Psycho Pocket". As you probably know, you unlock the skills by getting Secret Key items. For Psycho Pocket you need Secret Key 1, which you can get by completing the very first GS Camapaign Mission. I'll quote from a faq about the mission:
QUOTE
GS Campaign #1
Client: Jacqueline
Location: Second Miltia, Sector One, just outside the hospital.
Reward: Secret Key 1
Objective: Jacqueline will give you a love letter to send to Sydney.
You'll have to go to the Kukai Foundation via the Second Miltia Spaceport and find Sydney in the bar. Once you give him the letter, he'll give you a letter to give back to Jacqueline. Do so to complete this quest.
That's all you need to do. =)
QUOTE (Spurt Reynolds)
Also wot GS Campaign number is the one where u pay off the debt, and wot do u get out of it?
It's GS Campaign #32. These are the rewards:
- Skill Upgrade E x40!
- Double Tech: Power Strike (for Ziggy & MOMO)
- Secret Key 19 (unlocks "Ether Burst" skill)
- X-Buster (special attack for KOS-MOS)
- Jin's Swimsuit

Whoops, sorry about the late reply: I didn't remember much about this fight, so I was gonna look it up but kinda forgot about it. =p
Anyway, this is what the boss faq on Gamefaqs says:
QUOTE
You will end up fighting Inversion. With Ziggy as the sub pilot of E.S Dinah, trigger Meteo Fall at Max Charge. E.S Zebulun can support and heal if you need to. Since Inversion is weak against fire, Meteo Fall does around 5000 - 11000 damage. Continue this and Inversion will go down in no time.
Oh, as for the counter malfunction:
QUOTE
"Counter Boost system malfunction!" --> Successfully induce L type status to temporarily shut off boss' cboosts.
"Counter Boost system damaged!" --> Successfully induce H type status to shut off boss' cboosts.
Refresh H - "Counter Boost system begins auto-repair!" --> Nullifies H type status changes.

Omg, I already fully completed XSII long ago and I didn't even know you could do Ether combos! xD
Anyway, I tried it out and this is how it goes:
- Before doing anything else, boost the other character first.
- Now with the first character, hit triangle on the Ether (i.e. Medica 2).
- Now a window will pop up to select the Double Ether with the second character (i.e. Double Medica 2).
- Obviously, just select the Double Ether to cast it (which will effect the entire party, i.e. Double Medica 2 will heal the entire party).
That's all (and now I've learned something new too xD ).

I am in the core of Laybrinthos, or more the less in one of the corridors where it is a puzzel to get through the walk way. Stand below the upper right block 3 and shoot it facing north. Stand above
