Well I didn't really ever finish BoF V (

) but to my understanding D-Bosch was the last fight that you actually fight (then theres somthing like odin and chetyre) if I'm wrong, my apologies.
I thought that the hardest boss out ot the series was Myria (fou-lu was hard but i beat him on my first try). Man she was pretty easy in the beggining but then she started to use Holocaust (

) and it all wne down hill from there.... I fought her for 30 minutes only to be confused, poisoned, couldn't see, and low on hp...... It haunts me just to remeber somthing like that *shudder*.
Anyways was yours the same or was is it diffrent? Or maybe you didnt have any trouble with the final bosses at all ( ^^;; LIAR!!!). So hard did you fare against them?

Spoiler, I guess.
Um, does fighting Ryu's sister on Breath of Fire 1 count? She was VERY annoying and very hard. =/ I died so many times it wasn't funny. =/ Dammit.
But erm, on the poll? I'd have to say that Goddess Tyr. On Breath of Fire 1 and 3. She was more annoying on BoF3. =/ I used the gold Ryu and he attack everyone. Therefore nuking my entire group!
Nice topic, man.

Myria had to be the most damned annoying final boss ever in an RPG. I must've died about 15 or so times against her before I finally won.
Her Venom attack kept confusing and blinding Ryu and Rei so they couldn't attack her. Luckily Momo was immune to status ailments. And Myria's Blizzard spells kept forcing me to take a turn to heal everyone. (I had everyone equipped with Ring of Fire so "Inferno" and "Sirocco" wouldn't hurt them.
After 14 tries, I finally figured out the key to beating her: having Momo use Influence against Myria so Rei would never attack anyone else in his Weretiger form--except Myria. Even then, as her HP got low, she constantly used Myollinir and Holocaust against everyone. Ryu died, and Momo and Rei were low on HP.
Rei, in his Weretiger form, was blind, and I only had one turn to win. It came down to one attack from Rei. If he missed, I would lose, because she would surely use another powerful spell to finish Rei and Momo off. Safe to say, he managed to successfully hit Myria with a Weretiger attack, and she died.
It was seriously one of the hardest and most annoying boss fights ever.

So far two for Myria eh? I just got finished beating the snot out of her. I didn't even make it to level 40...she was too easy guys.

Sole you liar.....(j/k) Well its our opinion anyways. Sides you must have got luck with your characters because Holocaust almost wiped out my party and they were at level 40, 40, and 37. But if you had fire rings and light rings i guess you could've easily beat her since the only attacks that would have hurt you would be Holocaust, Blizzard, and her normal attack. If not then I guess some people are just luckier than others*shrugs*.
Anyways who was the hardest boss to you then, eh Sole?

Mind shields, light bangles, rings of fire and a robe of wind...I have pictures if ya want...No dragons btw.
I don't know I've only played 5 and 3 and both were kinda easy.

I didn't use Dragon form against Myria because I needed Ryu and Momo on standby for healing.
One question: Does Influence's effect ever wear off?
Worenmaster
May 30 2005, 07:11 PM
Yes it does but not after for a while.
And you didn't use any dragon forms Wein? I can understand Sole not using any since he had all the special equiptment, but why not you? I had Ryu turn into the Warrior form (force + gross+ thorn) and Rei use the Weretiger form right off the bat. Having them all equiped with sould gems really made a diffrence ^^. Momo used influnce her first turn, and then she would heal and attack with her best spells and give Ryu wisdom fruits when he needed them. I had Ryu use Aura every turn which caused 1200 - 1900 damage each turn. And having Rei do 500 damage every turn, the battle didn't last very long. Needless to say it took me a while to figure out this strategy ^^;;.

oddly enough i think the hardest boss is fou lu...i beat maria on my first try in BoF3 and countless times after. Though while fighting Fou lu it took me forever to beat him.

Well yea Fou-lu took along time to beat, He had a s%%% load of hp, took me like 45 minitues to beat him I think. But I still beat him on my first try. Or maybe I mistranslated that....meh

I'll put this in Ranking:
1.) Myria (BOF3)
2.) Fou-Lu (BOF4)
((Reedit it later after I beat BOF 1 and 2))
It took an while, plus alot of status up suchs as Focus and War Cry just to gain enough power to tear away Myria's life points.
Fou-Lu's the same, but he's more aggresive than Myria was.

Myria has some tricks up her Sleeve, but I found Fou-lou to be definitively more challenging.
I equipped my characters right for the Myria fight, and brought Garr, Peco, and Ryu. Ryu would use Shadow Walk, Garr would attack, and Peco would use Jump/breath skill. They all healed when needed with items. It wasn't that tough the way I did things, but if you don't prepare for the fight properly, you could die.
Fou-lou, on the other hand, got my vote for his freaking resilliance. Any boss that lasts that long tempts the player to do something stupid, which is more deadly than any attack
Eh, the real contest for me was between Fou-lou and Tyr. D-Bosh, wasn't as hard as the game you had to go through to get to him

and unfortunately, I never finished BoF 2, so I couldn't say.

Fou-Lu had the nastiest moves. HP=1 SMASH YOU ALL... your turn.
For Myria, I just used Mammoth and the giant snake dragon.

I read this topic and I got scared 0_o
If Myria is so tough... errr... I'm going to fight her for the 1st time as soon as I'll have time for playing ^^;

I guess I would have to say Tyr/Myria from BoF 1, if you try to get the alternate ending. You can't use Agni against her, which makes the fight ALOT tougher. After that, it would be:
Fou-Lu
Myria from 3
Death Evan
D-Bosch
Tyr/Myria from 1 for the normal ending
Agni and a few melons made Tyr the easiest fight ever, but without Agni, she'll kick your ass. And, D-Bosch is easy when you don't need to hold back on your D-powers, for fear of the gauge getting too high.
Yeah, I've seen both endings for 1, all 3 for 2, and the only ending (AFAIK) for 3, 4, and 5. If there are more, I'll have to play through them again!
To get the alternate endings for 2, you can choose not to enter the infinity dungeon for the first, you kill your father for the second, and you save your father for the third.

Well I would say Fou-lu was the hardest for me. I tried so many times and I still can't beat him. Even today!

The first form of Fou-lu was easy, then when it got Astral, everything just totally downhill and everything when BOOM!

Hello i am new to the site and i found this forum while searching for photos which shamely i didn't find any with good resolution :whoa:
Anyway i have played and finished 3 and 4 and both bosses took much time and were very hard. Most hard than any other rpg i have played except Songi in Legend of Legaia

. Myrrhia was more hard than fou-lou but i managed to defeat her almost at 41-42 level with Garr,Ruy and Peco. I used silver hourglass i think to stop time and i remember status ailments being a big problem. It took me about 10 tries and i used the thingie with the Warrior dragon too with focus and another damaging holy move i think (i was 11years old then

and i don't remember clearly). As for fou-lou i took him down with Scias' Rakhassa and double hits, Kray's grp defence and Nina's vigor. I also used strong magic combos with ursula and ershin i remember.

the first time I fought Fou-lu I got pounded cause I just like it was a regular fight, no dragons, no items. I thought It was going to be simple but then he used that White-out or whatever move and killed me, the second time I kept my health high, and got annoyed after beating when I found out all I had to do was survive, and shortly after I got killed by Tyrant. The third time around, I had most of my life after his first form, And lost a couple of my forms to Tyrant but killed him with my full health Kaiser. Shortly after I was thinking he was kinda tough but not too bad, pretty good last boss. .. .... WHAAAAAAAAAT??? ASTRAL??? SOUL REND???
A dragon tear, half of my healing items, and 7 forms later I finally beat him.
All in all, a pretty cool boss.

---SPOILER WARNING---
Hmm i beated Fou-Lu so easily. (LvL 42 all party) Just used kaiser on tyrant, kaiserbreath all the time. When it went hard, i used vigor for the party. On Astral, i used weyr in case of soul rend. when it did, i revert form and vigor using fire attacks all the time since astral is an ice dragon. inferno-inferno-flame pillar combo and when low on ap, switched chars and used might on scias and shining blade with firangi (2 hits) it dealt 6000+ damage in one turn. Not that hard actually. BOF is so easy, for a pro like me! (

I have only beaten breath of fire 3 and that goodess myria was so hard the battle went well until she got her dam holacaust attack. My party was Ryu, Nina, and Gar. After living for a while agaist her she managed to kill of two of my party members and managed to beserk gar. I watched as he attacked her hoping that she would die I think she finally died in about three turns or it might of been more I don't remember. She was such a hard boss but very rewarding in the end.

Hi, im new to the website. I stumbled onto it whilst trying to find help over something.Firstly I havent even been able to get to the final boss on BoF3 and thats the only one of the series ive got!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im only 13 and remember from 6-7 yrs ago my sister on it and youd be suprised to know she beat Myria the first time she attempted it !!!!!!! and to show off, again in a weeks time!!!!!!!
Im up to the part where you are at Eden, shortly before Myria, and you face TEEPO after that crazy dream world place. I have had 5 attempts and have done just about everything i can. Both momo and Ryu had soul gems, I used Force, Flame and Eldritch mainly and all levels were around 38-40 HELP ME PLEASE SOMEBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ive looked through this thorum and GOD im very impressed by some of you, youre probably thinking im the worst player on here(and to be honest youre probably right) Its been years now and Ive had enough. So for me really, I guess Myria would be the hardest boss but how should i know?????????

err, hello again!! You can forget that last message...Ive got some good news, not only i beat Teepo straight after last message, I got through that stupid maze with all the past enemies in and then I (in MY first attempt) Kicked the holy S**T out of Myria. I was 100% ready though, Status change protection, ring of fire but it took all Ryu's and Nina's health...but I really did enjoy the games ending.
But what ever happened to PECO?
Darce
Oct 14 2005, 10:39 PM
In my opinion, D-Bosch is the hardest if you are not using your dragon-powers. The other four last bosses are real sissys, I beat them all on my first try, without levelling beforehand.

I know peco was the seed of Yggdrassil, but did Peco die or evolve or something? Garr turned to stone, the others got away safely but Peco...?
Darce
Oct 15 2005, 09:51 AM
I donīt think he died. He probably became a part of Yggdrassil or something like that.
Itīs been a while since I played the game. When did Garr turn to stone?

Oct 21 2005, 01:48 PM
I only completed the game a few weeks ago and remember Garr saying something like "If the goddess should die, then I should die with her." because apparantly in the 'great war' Myria 'bestowed her power upon the guardians. Then he turned to stone just like that!!!!!!
(This happened right after the 'Myria' battle)

In my opinion, Fou-lu is the hardest. I beat him after several tries, and that also require of wandering for hours searching for all best equipments...

Even though I did find Myria a tough boss... I have to say I had a hard time beating Fou-lu, probably because I kept on trying to steal his equipment from him... that was dam annoying.
I loved the Myria fight actually, I died once and had to repeat that looooong scene again... ugh.. I hate that scene with a passion. But since I liked that fight so much I somewhat dedicated my name to her lol.

well, i think, Myria was extremely easy, i played with she (xD) draining her AP (leech power, lol, about 1000 ap, at once ), but Fou-Lu... it was extremely hard for me, i wasted about 1 or 2 hours beating he, really hard.

Fou-lu was a pain in the @$$ to beat as a dragon. So istead i'd just turn against my friends. Much easier.
