(5) A horse is tied to a five meter rope, but the bale of hay he wants to get to is six meters away. How is it that the horse can reach the hay without breaking the rope?

(6) There is a cage in my towns zoo that contains both peacocks and wild pigs (don't ask why). If there is a total of 30 eyes and 44 feet how many of each are inside the cage?

(7) If you were to take two apples from three apples how many would you have?
Beaudoin

Beaudoin
Sorry for the double post. Didn't want to edit.

3. He's playing Monopoly.
6. 7 boars, 8 peacocks There are fifteen animals in total, as 15 animals * 2 eyes per animal is 30. 7 boars * 4 legs per boar is 28 legs. likewise, 8 peacocks * 2 peacock legs is 16. 16 + 28 = 44 legs.

6: 8. Initially he has enough for 7 cigarettes. However, with those 7 cigarette ends (assuming he didn't smoke them completely) he has enough for one more. 7 + 1 = 8.

7: The total weight is 24 kilograms. The block weights 16 kg (the only possible way a block can weight X + half itself is if it weights 2X). 16 + 8 = 24

Let's take a different approach when we look at this.

Each man gives the manager $10, so the manager has $30. He gives $5 to the bellhop, leaving him with $25. The bellhop gives $1 back to each man and keeps $2 for himself.

So.

Each man has $1. ($3)

The bellhop has $2.

The manager has $25.

Hmm. It adds up to $30. Interesting.

You take 6 of the 7 coins and weight 3 on each side. If they balance then the remaining coins is the lighter one. If they don't then one side will definetely weight more. Take the 3 coins that weight less and out of that 3 weight 1 one each side. If they balance then the last coins is the lighter coin. If they don't then you can see which is lighter obviously.

Well, here's how I would do it: First, take a piece from the box of mixed. Whatever it is, that is what box it should be. Say it was a cherry. Then you know it should be the cherry box. Then you would be left with two boxes containing bananas in one, and the other would be mixed, though one would be labeled as bananas, and one as cherries. Well, the banana box couldn't have bananas in it, so it would have to be mixed, so the box labeled a cherries would be the mixed one.
If you instead picked a banana out first, switch the words banana and cherry, 'cause I don't want to write any more.

The wife would have twice as much as the girl but the boy would have twice as much as the wife therefore...

twice of 1 is 2, twice of 2 is 4: 1+2+4=7

Boy: 4/7 ,Wife: 2/7, Girl: 1/7

If the electrician is the father, then the plumber is the mother. Vice-versa, If the Plumber is the father, then the electrician is the mother.
