(7) If a man and a half can eat a cake and a half in a half a minute and a half, allowing the same situation, how many men would it take to eat 60 cakes in 30 minutes?
*

2 men.

A half a minute and a half is 45 seconds. 45s goes into 30min 40 times. That means that you have 40 units of cake eating time. You eat 1.5 cakes each unit so that's 60 cakes in the allowed time, by only 1.5men. But you can't get 1.5men, unless you chop a man in half, and being chopped in half spoils your appetite, so 2 men.

*

An egg hitting the ground won't break the ground. Just the egg.

OR

You drop the egg while it's still inside the chicken.

OR

You said no other 'objects'. You could drop the egg half a foot into someone's hands, then they could drop it to you, and so on until you hit the ground.

OR

You could be dropping it into water at ground lv. It wouldn't be use of an object if you were dropping it into the ocean.

OR

You could varnish the egg. It would still be raw, but much harder.

Damn your eyes, I explained when you typoed =P

Right! Third time lucky...

3 men. Take 30minutes and divide it by 1.5min. That gives you 20 quantities of the needed timespan. Then multiply 20 by 1.5 again for the 1.5 cakes every 1.5min. That puts you back up to 30 cakes in 30 minutes. Then 1.5men can eat 30 in 30min, so 3 men will eat 60 in 30min.

Well you take 'new door' and dissemble it into letters - denooprw

Then you take 'one word' and dissemble it also, you again get the letters - denooprw

Just prooving that 'new door' and 'one word' can be quite happily made out of each other.

As it follows your every move you simply goes around the tree in circles until the dog has to little rope to get you.

Isn't an ostrich egg to hard to break from that distance? Or maybe a dinosaur egg(fossil?).

EDIT I don't know if it counts as cheating, but I asked a friend and he said it was easy. His answer was to drop it from a higher point, at least 4 feet. Then the egg will drop 3 feet without breaking but then break after the fourth feet.

(2)If a man and a half can eat a cake and a half in a half a minute and a half, allowing the same situation, how many men would it take to eat 60 cakes in 30 minutes?

Simple, it’s a play on words. 1 ˝ man eats 1 ˝ cakes in 1 ˝ minutes, therefore 1 man can eat 1 cake in 1 minute. With that, 60 men can eat 60 cakes in 60 minutes. If you cut the time in half, you will need to double up the amount of men it takes to eat the cakes…

My Answer:

Therefore it will take 120 men to eat 60 cakes in 30 minutes

~Dommy

New Answer to question #2:

QUOTE
(2) If a man and a half can eat a cake and a half in a half a minute and a half, allowing the same situation, how many men would it take to eat 60 cakes in 30 minutes?

1.5 man…..1.5cakes….45seconds (1/2 of 90 seconds or a minute and a half)

First we will need to get it evened to a whole man, so I multiplied everything by 2/3’rds

1man…1cake…30seconds

Multiplied everything by 2 to come up with an even minute

2men…2cakes…1minute

Multiplied everything by 30 to come up with the correct number of cakes and minutes:

60men…60cakes…30minutes

So my answer is now 60men

The right two legs take a bigger step than the two left legs, or that the left two legs take a bigger step than the right two legs. As either of the two legs walk forward first in order to make a movement and the other two legs follow in order to move the whole body. (just taking a shot)

6) 3. Drawing two could get you one of each color, but by drawing a third it will be either red or blue, and therefore match one of the socks drawn earlier.

7) 12. Two of the jacks have two eyes, so that's 4. Two of the jacks have one eye, so that's 2, add that to 4 and you have six. Double the result, since face cards are more-or-less symmetrical, and you get 12 eyes total.

You would need to pull 49 socks! Since there are 24 pairs of each there are 48 socks of each color. So choosing 49, if somehow you choose every single blue sock, then you would have one red sock. =D

(6) I work as a landscaper part time.  One of my jobs is digging holes.  it takes me one hour to dig a hole two meters deep, two meters long, and two meters wide.  Assuming everything remains the same how long would it take me to dig a hole four meters deep, four meters long and four meters wide?

*

OKay, well since the volume of the first hole is 2*2*2, it is 8 cubic meters. Now, a hole 4*4*4 would be 64 cubic meters.

64/8=8. Therefore, 8 hours.

(7) I have two coins in my hand they total 35 cents, but one of the coins is not a dime. What are the two coins?

A quarter and a dime. One of the coins is not a dime, it doesn't say that neither of them are a dime. So the one that is 'not a dime' is a quarter, leaving the other as a dime.
