He was very much higher than Ryu. He talked to him as a friend and everything. I'm sure Ryu, or the player would've followed his orders. (I do that in my RPG's.) So, it happens. It was really random as to what Bosch did wasn't it? (You know what I mean if you played it. =p) It bothers me, cause he didn't really give a reason as to why he did it.

When Ryu get's his power or whatever, Bosch chickens out and runs.
Think he was jus power hunrgy or something? I know he wanted to be noticed by all-- but he went too far. X(

Yeah this made me hate the guy. I don't know where that idea of his came from. He just asked for Ryu to hand over the girl, but it's not like he gave him any warning of what he was about to do. You'd think he'd be a little more reluctant, or at least talk things out if you're friends, right?

I doubt he ever really was Ryu's friend. He seemed more interested in power.
He probably liked to hang out with Ryu to remind himself of how strong he is.
Then again, it may have something to do with his father and his childhood? I remember seeing a strange SOL scene of him fighting a monster when he was a kid.
I'm not sure if there were more SOL schenes like that, that could explain his behaviour.

But obviously, he couldn't stand the thought of Ryu being stronger than him.
He seemed possesed, so he went and did all those 'things to himself.
You know what I mean. =/'

Also this made me think that when the opening intro mentions "a tale betweeen friends", they weren't talking about Ryu and Bosh. But Chetyre and Odjn.
The two dragons.

Now, that you mention it.. I remember that sol scene, too. =x
I guess I gotta play the game a few more times and open up more SOL scenes.
But I think you're right. Maybe. About the warning and everything. He jus' stabbed him. I was shocked, and then again I wasn't. He really sucked ass in battle. =x
Later on in the game, though. He get's power doesn't he? The dragon power. Right there and then he should've went to his father.

Ryu wasn't stronger than him before. He was a 'grunt'. =p
Bosch was much higher. In level and exp. So him being a big dummy and doing what he did... =/

Guess to prove something, i've would've done the same thing.
Soul Reaver
Well I'm not up to that bit, But I am up to the part where the Captain tells Bosch to kill the cargo (Nina), which I assume takes him up against Ryu =\.

Anyway I remember Bosch on the Biocorp freight saying,

"I am a 1/64 D Ratio I can be a regent"
"A Regent?"
"Yes I BOSCH WILL BE A REGENT, and you Ryu are only a grunt too weak to advance right now, but when I get to the top I'll help you out"

Makes me think Bosch is a power hungry nut who just want's people to admire him =\.

-Edit- I see now. Man What Bosch did to Ryu was cheeap =\ No reasons no answers just stabs him.
Twilight Dragon
To me Bosch is just a typical child born in an aristocratic family. He has to live up to the family name and the only way to do so is to have power, unfortunately for him, he was always too weak (as can be from the SOL scene of him fighting the monster). That is why he is always trying to do what the Captain or whoever says, so he can eventually rise to the top. However, he can't go against his nature, which is weak, so he befriends Ryu, who is inferior to him, which makes him feel better about himself. But when Ryu gets the dragon power and becomes stronger than him, as well as his failure in accomplishing his mission, drove him over the edge and he became a power monger. The sudden rise in power of Ryu made Bosch envious of it all, which is why he got the dragon arm.
So the bottom line is he tried too hard to please his father and ended up going nuts wacko.gif

Bosch desired power and would do whatever to obtain his power. Even if he's using friends as stepping stones, he do whatever it takes to obtain his power. It was obsession to him to be stronger than everyone else. He only worried about himself. It was all about Bosch and nobody else. I was shocked, because I wasn't sure what type of person Bosch was until that point where he stab Ryu. When I think about it, it was not random at all what he did to Ryu.

Ryu became stronger than him when he obtain the dragon power. When Bosch killed him, he was just doing his job. If he didn't do his job, then he couldn't make it to the top, where he wanted to be. Bosch became jealous of Ryu once he saw how powerful he became. He was not jealous of Ryu when he stab him.

Bosch desire to be the best no matter what. Friends and loyality do not matter to him. It's as simple as that. I dislike him a bit, because he was kind of a weasle. Wasn't strong and ran away a lot, but he was pretty good villian since he was heartless bastard who lust for nothing, but power.
