I'm on Chapter 4 in WA3, and I went to the Sacrificial Altar, but I got my butt handed to me by that second Hydra boss. Is there anywhere I can go right now to build up real quick?
Sigs Minock
have you thought about going after the Pillars? they're distributed all over the place, and give some good EXP.
i think you have to talk to the alien-fanatic in the town in the far north where you get Gallow's mariachi (?) doll.

I searched both Ballack Rise and Laxisland for the guy, but I couldn't find him. And I couldn't find any info on GameFAQs about the pillars either. I don't seem to gain any EXP from the Gunner's Heaven tournaments, and other places give too little EXP to be all that helpful.

The Pillars, are part of the Alien sidequest. You have to talk to the Alien guy and do certain things in certain chapters to have the full sidequest, otherwise you can't complete it...=O

But as for places to level up...not quite sure...like Sigs Minock said, I used the Pillars a lot. =D I would go search...but I don't currently have a copy of WA3*grumbles*

Those aliens give you loads of Exps. Each fight will boost your lv 1-2. But can't you find these aliens as random encounters ? In the whole maps ? I remember I met them like that.
Sigs Minock
the Hulkytons... or whatever they're called? you need to defeat all the pillars (including 0), then you'll be able to fight them... using Extension+ Status Lock on them is vital, since they like to go crazy with Human Experimentation and Arc en Seil- both of which inflict many status ailments.

actually, i think you may only need to rub out half the pillars to entice the Hulky's.

Hmmm, I never did the alien quest. I do seem to remember that a lot of the sand ocean battles give a lot of exp but you gotta find the right places. I think the northern sections and the inland sea has some good monsters to kick around.

You gotta try em, dude. Others are nothing comparing to these Aliens.

Yeah, but these are where everything come in handy. Because every status ailments that you blocked will gain more exp for that char. 0.1 for each blocking, and I always get x9.9 exp for each chars after about 6 minutes battle. Like 300000 Exps. <3

OK... You guys might hate me for this, but I found a way to level up WITHOUT EVEN BEING IN THE ROOM!

(Requires a controller with auto-fire.) (PS2 version) (.....not sure if there even is another version, but just being sure)

Make sure you have the best gun for the sand steamer equipped. Nothing else matters at this point.
Go to an area where monsters give you a lot of EXP. (I did this in the area with Capricorns and Jenny Green-Teeth, but I was trying to get ice and water rings, not EXP. Same concept.)

Now, get:
1. Auto-fire controller
2. rubber band
3. Tape or other way to hold down the X button.

Make sure your fastest character is the gunner. (For me it was Jet, but that's because I loaded his speed stat with guardians.)

Rubber band the two analog sticks together so the left stick is pointing right and the right stick is pointing left. Tape down the X button. Done!

The battle screen should continually select Fire All Ammo, killing the monster instantly.

Oh, and the sand steamer WILL travel in continual circles, nothing you can do about it...

If you find a problem with this, please tell me...

To be honest, just by doing all the sidequests I could do and the general level of levelling up you'd expect from travelling the map and through dungeons, I really found myself to be on the appropriate level for most bosses. I know that doesn't help, but I'd just stick in. I can't remember the specifics since its been a looong time since I've played, but try mixing up your characters' set-up?
