The Evil Dead

Well, given that I have the handy skills of being able to find so many games for free... I finally decided to check out Neverwinter Nights, a game that I've been meaning to get for a couple years now. I've heard from so many people that it's a great RPG, developed by BioWare ( Jade Empire and KOTOR ) and it's a blast to play.
So far, I'm about ten or so hours into it and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. I have all the expansions for it as well, and I've heard that it has a hundred hours of gameplay, even more with the expansions.
I'm really looking forward to getting into this game... Right now I'm in the second chapter with a neutral evil fighter who I'm going to turn into a blackguard... Hopefully everything works out right and I don't screw up my character.
Anyone else ever play these games? If not and you're RPG fans, I highly suggest you get out there and purchase the plat edition which includes both expansions.

I own it too, but only with the first expansion. I really enjoyed playing this as well, but probably not at the same level as you because I played BioWare's older titles Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 (Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal) first, and they both greatly outshine Neverwinter Nights.
I suppose that means I never got to fully appreciate Neverwinter Nights because, although the story was quite good, it didn't live up to the expectations I had from playing the PC saga of Baldur's Gate. But I still enjoyed it. Morrowind was better for me too, though.

Yeah Neverwinter Nights was an AWESOME game, but it totally pwned my computer... i dont think i could handle an expansion. but Neverwinter should come to the consoles, they'd do so much better there

Yeah, I have it with all the expansions. It's an excellent game. I have a Druid/Shapshifter and a Fighter/Blackguard. I haven't played that game in a while because I'm a bit preoccupied with other games at the moment. I'd say Hordes of the Underdark is a lot better than Undrentide(sp?). That one was too short.

Yeah... The second one that I can't spell either seems that it is shorter than Hordes... But even if I do finish all of them so soon, there's so many Premium Modules you can get on BioWares website for NVN that it's ridiculous... There's basically an unlimited amount of adventures.
Dart, as for Baldur's Gate being better than this, I'm going to have to check them out because I'm totally loving NVN...

I too own Neverwinter Nights, but do not have any of the expansion packs. The original game I found really fun, most of the quests were easy enough if you were patient. I found a few a bit trickey however, the one with the short guy that speaks... I can't remember his name now, but as the game progresses you find out more and more of his past, I was not able to complete the whole thing as the items you need to collect are in the most secret places!
What do people think of that very last battle? I found it actually pretty hard and had to play it several times because I died. My companion was funny though, he was asking if I was scared of dying and stuff... Then he died in the fight! LOL
I found only one technical error, the game did not like my Windows XP! It crashed now and then and the graphics went a little funny, but I perciveered and played to the very end. I would recomend it to everyone!

Actually I never had a problem once in Neverwinter, or in any of the expansions. Like with the KOTOR series, Bioware has made this one a bit too easy using the 3rd edition D&D rules... My Fighter/Blackguard I used for the original campaign easily smashed through any enemies without a problem, and my Fighter/Rogue/Shadowdancer for Hoardes hasn't had a problem either... I wish they would have made the games more difficult, and changing the difficulty doesn't do anything unless you put it on extreme.
I love the games, but they're not long enough to really let your characters grow and expand within the different classes. You can, but it takes higher levels ( Which you'll only get in Hoardes of the Underdark ) to really excelll in any class.
I wish they would have made it so you could go back through the campaigns on a much harder difficulty, yet you could still earn more experience and all that.

There's really not all that much to do... In the first game there's very few rare items, which makes looting for treasure rather worthless for the most part. However in the expansions there's a few more rare items, plus the ability to seriously upgrade your weapons.
I'm gonna go through the first game again as a Monk/Sorcerer/Pale Master and see how that works out.

I own NWN gold. I started playing it and was loving it. On paper my PC should be able to handle this game, but as someone else said it pwned my computer. Video Lag, crashing, gliches like crazy. I eventually gave up on the game because I was having such a hard time. I always meant to go back and try it again (along with BG 2), but have yet to do so.

Shucks TED, I'm drooling. I didn't know the Plat version is the whole entire set... now I'm going back to the store I saw it to check the price. I've been interested in NWN for the longest time ever, ever since it was first introduced and being the cheapo I am, I never got it. I'm hoping it's affordable enough and won't pwn my computer. God knows my computer is so lousy it'll probably die if I sic too many PC games on it.

I think my father has taught me how to check the specs of a computer before but I forgot due to disuse. >.< I don't know where or how to check it...
