Q. Seymor flux on mount gagazet is too hard how do i defeat him?
A. Well ive been using this technique since i first found out on gamefaqs by Thundaka and zzanmato.
- Level up until Yuna has Reflect and Dispel; this will be crucially important in the fight

- Steal a Silence Grenade from Thorn in the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth

- Level up until Lulu has Bio (you can also Steal a Poison Fang from Nebiros in the Calm Lands--it's even better)

- Buy the Booster Cactuar from Wantz if Lulu has some strong spells (optional)

- Buy some Holy Waters from Wantz (about 15-20)

- Buy two Distillers of any type from Wantz (not sure if he sells them), or from the Monster Arena guy.

Now, to the fight:

Cast Haste on Yuna, then have her use Reflect on your whole party (which should be Yuna, Lulu and Rikku by now). In the meantime, have Rikku throw a Silence Grenade, Poison Fang (or Bio), and a Chocobo Feather on Seymour (I know the Chocobo Feather thingy might sound crazy, but it will actually help you; you'll see why). Once everyone is under Reflect and Seymour is under Silence, Poison and Haste, have Rikku Mix the Distillers for Super Mighty Guard; Haste, Protect, Shell and Regen on the whole party. Great Smile

Full-Life can't kill you, and you can heal Zombie whenever you want or need. Have Lulu cast Focus 5 times to reduce Total Annihilation's damage by 1/3. Defend before Cross Cleave; in combination with Protect, it'll only deal about 650 damage. Simply throw an Al Bhed Potion after it.

If you're really scared of Total Annihilation, attack until Seymour has just above 35,000 HP (not less), then wait for the Poison to do the rest of the damage. This can be dangerous, as Silence will wear off eventually; when that time comes, launch some Overdrives on him (with Aeons, if you want), and you'll be able to kill him before TA (not that it would kill you, unless you have less that 1500 HP or so).
Kyo Kusanagi
I'll also agree to help. I bought FFX-2 Official Guide yesterday wheee, it came with two poster. Ahem. Although I still plan to return to FFX to finish things up. Like Shinryu for example, I don't think you got to finish telling me the strat for him Hiku, as I'd really like to take this thing down.
Athrun
Oh yes, Shinryu. You have to beat him quite a few times to get Break HP for every ones armor.
Before you fight him you should at least have this:

Tidus Caladbolg (Ultima Weapon in Japan) unsealed, so that in has break damage, Tripple Overdrive, Counter and Magic counter
Also set your overdrive to Stoic

4 slot armor that can be bought from O'aka, should have:
Break HP (you can get Wings to Discovery x 30 from the Chocobo racing thing)
Auto Haste (Although casting Haste on yourself works just as well as long as he doesn't kill you)

Strategy: Because this battle takes place underwater, you can only use Tidus,
Wakka, and Rikku. Shinryu will counterattack with his claw whenever he is
attacked, which does about 8000+ damage to one character with 120 defense.
But I would recommend killing off Wakka and Rikku, just use them for casting Protect and Haste on Tidus, then kill them off, because
Shinryu won't use Eraser - his infamous petrification and shattering attack -
if only one of your party members is alive. Barring that strategy, if your
speed is high enough, just cast Haste, and Quick Hit, and Blitz
Ace him to death. Shinryu's other offenses pale in comparison to Eraser, but
they include Shining, which hits all of your party members multiple times for
small damage, and a simple claw attack to one character, the same as his claw
counterattack.
Every time Shinryu uses his claw attack on Tidus, Tidus will counter it by striking back. Protect should keep you alive from his physical attacks long enough for you to be able to use both Curaga and Quick attack, and Cuaraga again before it is Shinryu's turn, since he always counter attacks back as well.
This is really all there is to it. Unless your stats are too low, this will be a piece of cake, just takes some patience, and he drops only x2 Wings to Discovery each time he is overkilled.
If you still have trouble with him, I can tell you how to level up your stats somewhat in order to be strong enough to deal with him.
After you get break HP for everyone, you can take on a few of the others to get Streangth spheres and HP spheres.

Oh yeah and Kyo, one important detail. Since you have the FFX based on International, there is a new armor ability called Ribbon. I'm sure it sounds familiar.
Grants immunity to all status ailments.
You can get that by using 99 Dark Matter in your armor.
Not so easy to get, but if you do, then use it right away.
Kyo Kusanagi
Thank you Hiku! I'll give it a try when I'm done with X-2.

Speaking of which. On FFX-2 I'm in desperate need of Ethers! I cannot find a shop anywhere that sells them. I understand Hiku has yet to play this so if anyone knows anything please do, read below for my current position in the game.

*Spoilers*

Well I've just finished the Kilika distress call and defeated the Dark Ifirit, I think I might be able to take on Dark Yojimbo soon, but I'll need Ethers as I only have about 12 Is there anyone I can steal them or buy them from?
Phil
hey kusanagi,
ethers can be stole off some dragon fiends particularly oversoul fiends.
if not learn the magic skill osmose which drains mp from enemies and transfers it to the player.
i think osmose is learned with the gun mage dressphere or black magic.
good luck!
Weapon
If I was you I would save those ethers for the magus sisters because they are the hardest of the dark aeons you will fight. Yojimbo is pretty easy, his attacks doesn't hurt that much. Just make sure you have alot of antidotes and you should bring down Yojimbo with ease.
Kyo Kusanagi
Thanks for the help. I quiped three Star pendants before the battle with Yojimbo and and beat him before he could get Zanmato out on me. Thanks for the help, I'll keep a look out for dragon fiends then.
Joe23
To Urmnaf,
the best fiend to steal(master thief) Ethers from is the yellow bird in calm lands, I am not sure if they appear after chapter 1 though...
tidus2000
ok i am fighting the magus sisters, in the 5th or 4th chapter, and i just can not beat them, my levels are yuna 37, piane 35 and rikku 34, can anyone help.
Athrun
Tidus if you look up there is a help thread. I will merge the topic later.
I'll leave this one open if anyone wants to answer him.
Ragnarok
Might want to level up a bit. I was level 70 there.
Weapon
Fighting the Magus Sisters at any level below 50 is insane their attacks could kill your chracters easily at such a weak level try leveling up and if you to lazy to do that get the catnip.
tidus2000
ok i am looking of those Cactuar things in the dester, so i can help destory some really big fiend, and i don't no where the Cactuar are can anyone help me.
tidus2000
ok thanxs smile.gif
Weapon
Talk to the Cactuar's mothers they will give you hints on where to find each and every one of them.
Zexon
I know where they're all r so PM me if ur stuck anywhere with them or anywhere in the Game. But like Weapon said, talk to the glowing Cactuar's (Not Marnela) and they will give u a some pointless hints. happy.gif OH and the glowing Cactuar's come up as a green square on the map so u know where they r. wink.gif
Weapon
It's not pointless hints. The hints were really easy like for the first 5 Cactuars but after that it all goes down hill. You got to be super smart to find the last ones (without using the guide).
tidus2000
thanxs for the info smile.gif
ryujin_18
here's in order:
1. Lobivia - Oasis
2. Toumeya - Besaid Island: Dock
3. Lobeira - Guadosalam: Leblanc Chateau
4. Areq & Arroja - Calm Lands: Gorge Bridge
5. Islaya - Thunder Plains: North
6. Chiapa - Kilika Woods
7. Erio - Mt. Gagazet: After Mountain Trail
8. Bartschella - Kilika: North: Donna's House
9. Frailea - Cactuar Nation: Inside the Cave

that's all!!!! smile.gif
ryujin_18
try this for size:
You should have a Garment Grid that can equip 4-5 jobs namely; Dark Knight, Alchemist, Gunner, Thief, and White Mage. Have the Alchemist learn the Mega-Potion ability for Stash. And use Darkness for Dark Knight. Use Trigger Happy for the Gunner; Master Thief for Thief; Shell, Protect, for the White Mage. After that use always Mega-Potion, and transform another character to another alchemist, the Mix elemental items, and also non-elemental but status items might work. Take out Cindy or Mindy first, Cindy uses Not-So-Mighty-Guard and Mindy uses Passado. Dispel it if there are shell and protect at the enemy. Steal items if you want to, it's kinda rare though. that's all i can do, well ask me again and i'll help you again. biggrin.gif

nocomment.gif really? i was lower than that.....heck..... i finished the game at lv. 50 or something. >_< i wonder how i did it....
tidus2000
that has helped alot thanxs ryujin_18
tidus2000
i think i will have to try that stratagey out ryujin_18 thanxs.

hay FantasyStarlett what level were you at when you fight the magus sisters.
Weapon
For expert players beating the game under 50 is simple but most players need to be around 50 when they first enter the abyss.
Emperor of Penance
Fighting the magus sisters w/ levels below 50 is possible even for novice players. Just plan your strategies right and strong equipment is a must. Gud luck.

Still can`t beat them? Use Catnip. happy.gif
Weapon
Yeah, catnip would be helpful killing the Magus Sisters but honestly if you can't beat the Magus Sisters I doubt you can reach level 40 of Via Infinito to get the catnip. And novice players don't really don't plan out their stratgies real good most of the time so only tip I could give you is level up more.
Manta-san
Ok I Just Beat This At The Exact Same Lv You Are At. So Here Is What I Did.

1. I Had Pain In Her Alchemist Dressphere (Have Mega Potion Learned)
2. Pure Strength (Have All The 20 And 30 Rise Deffence Equiped)
3. Attack From The Right To Left

That Should Be All You Need To Beat Them.

PS. I Beat Them With Full Health.....PM Me For More Details
tidus2000
ok i am in kilika woods and i am looking for them squatter monkeys, and i was wondering, how may are there, and what do i get when i get them all.? cool.gif
ryujin_18
may i ask if you use some battle strategies in bosses esp. penance? i do make my own strategy, it's reckless, very reckless but worth victorious. how about you? smile.gif
Yevon_Master
well just hug the walls of the forest and all through the small area and there's 7-11 I think. You get a sphere grid I also think I'll check back when I confirm.
ryujin_18
ethers? in X-2 i let the Alchemist do the works! even if it takes 400 AP or so..... cool.gif

my levels were Yuna=39, Rikku=40, Paine=41. just use 2 Alchemists and 1 Dark Knight. Mix 2 light curtains for Wall. then the other get ready the Mega-Potion, and use Darkness for Dark Knight. Then change 1 Alchemist into a gunner, after that, use the gunner for Chocobo Wing, then Trigger Happy. Use always Mega-Potion, Darkness, and Trigger Happy. Take out Mindy first, coz she's got the big stuff, never mind Sandy and Cindy, they're easy to crack. then take out Cindy to stop her for using Not-So-Mighty Guard. Dispel Tonic use it. with patience, i think you'll be able to take them out. biggrin.gif
jrjacket13
does anyone know where aurons celestial weapon power ups are? i cant find them anywhere

How: Ride a chocobo

Mars Sigil:
Where: Calm Lands;Battle Arena
How: Unlock any ten of the monsters (Area Conquest) & (Species Conquest)

I notcie on FFX in blitzball that when you play against another team there players can move down. I don't know about them moving up but I saw them go down. Is there some way to do this or it's just a glitch?
Athrun
Hmmm was this during a certain move or attack, or was it when they were dribbling with the ball?
And were you able to still encounter that person if you went close to him?

I can't remember this ever happening to me....
shadowscroll
It's was during the start of the game when the MF get the ball. They only go down for a short time then they come back up.
Kyo Kusanagi
You! You're talking about that dodging move! Yeah that's a real handy tech. and it looks really cool the they flip or duck..

Trust me, if it has an animation, it's not a glitch.
Anyway the move is called 'Tackle Slip' I suggest you try to learn that Tech ASAP.

At least one or two members of each team has the move so it's not uncommon. Just be sure to mark those that have it pre-play.

No it's not tackle slip this happen before I encounter a person. It happen right when it said blitz off the person just swim down and then swim back up when I encounter.

Wow, i don't remember this ever happen to me...

I am in chapter 2 in this game and I am supposed to be running around looking for musicians that are blue butterflies. I got both of them but one of them just disappeared after I jumped through the butterflies. Does he change locations or something. Hope some one understands what I just wrote because it sounds a tad confusing to even me :whoa: .
Kyo Kusanagi
Chysans,

There are two musicians and 3 baby musicians. You can tell them apart because the two musicians have voices overs whilst the 3 babies have text dialouge.

One musician is on the floating, rainbow type road that is a shortcut over the forest.

The second one is at the lake where Tidus and Yuna had that whole kissy kissy swim about thing. That's all you need.

The baby musicians however, ARE worth it, because it'll earn a garment grid on the next chapter when you return to the pond and meet that friendly amopheous Gel.

Those should be too hard to find floating around in the forest. The hardest one is still visible, it just requires you to jump through them when it comes close. It's in mid air, walk up the hill and approach the ledge with circle. The other two should be child play.

Good luck.
Athrun
I was wondering if I missed something by not going to Bikanel Desert, Zanarkand Ruins and Besaide island before they became hotspots?
I heard that you should visit all locations several times throughout the game before they become hotspots or you'll miss a lot of events.
But I didn't really get a chance to go to Zanarkand and Besaide before they became hotspots, but I could have gone to Bikanel.

Did I miss something important, or does that only happen when you move on to another chapter? Because I'm still on chapter 1. happy.gif
Kyo Kusanagi
Don't threat Hiku, Besaid and Zanarkand will become host spots right from the start as you're forced to choose Gagazet anyway wink.gif

But yes, I strongly advise you visit the other location before hots spots. For example, if you you finished both Besaid and Zanarkend missions in Chapter 1, you wont be able to do the 'Real Commotion' mission in Luca when Kilika is the Hotspot as great Sphere heist, simply because you're forced to go to Kilika ASAP.

When I first played I went straight for hotspots in chapters one and two missing out on the chance to get some crucial dresspheres! It wasn't untill Chap 3 that I realised that each Location has a bundle of new stuff every chapter. So yeah, defiantly explore, It's surprising how the manage to refresh everything, every chapter.

Oh ok thanks ^^;;
But now it seems I'm forced to do those missions as there is nothing else left to do.
And I'm still on chapter 1 so does that mean I will miss the 'Real Commotion' in Luca? I don't know what that is really, but I did do one mission there were Yuna was dressed up as a moogle, but that wasn't it right?
chyans6
Alright Kyo thanks for the help. I'm missing the one on the rainbow shortcut road. That helps. happy.gif
lionheart69
for ff10 can anybody tell me what u get for beating all of the dark summons i will be able to beat them all pretty soon but i just have to know what u get it had better be something good i heard u get to fight u special summon or something but these are just rumours
Athrun
Yes you get to fight one of the previous Sin's called Penance. One of the biggest boss challenges in Final Fantasy history. It's worth it. happy.gif
You sound confident though. Don't think your maxed stats will help much against him, and that goes for the Magus sisters too. They have attacks that instantly kills you and disables your auto life. They used those moves just about every turn.

Good luck happy.gif
22pfjha
exactly what hiku said but here is the best way to defeat them all and that ais "zanmato" with zojimbo trust me you will find it extremely hard if you dont use zanmato against penance, especially with him having 12,000,000 hp and both his arms with 500,000hp each!!!!

use zanmato thats the best advice anyone can give.
Athrun
QUOTE (22pfjha @ Mar 23 2004, 04:20 PM)
use zanmato thats the best advice anyone can give.

Well actually I would not recommend that.
You don't get anything good from beating him. All you get out of it is the tough battle itself, so try to beat him. When you do, that's the reward in itself. You beat one of the toughest bosses in rpg history.

With Zanmato you can kill him before he even gets a turn.
That not really any fun, at least not for me.

You will be very disappointed in the items he drops after battle. Nothing you don't already have 99 of, if you made it this far.
The challenge of the battle is all that matters in this one.
Elise_Purely
How do you get skills for Blue Bullet for the Dressphear Gun-Mage????????????
