Square Enix is in the midst of prepping for March's 2006 Fan Festival and beta testing the recently launched Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XI. In fact, the company announced today they would be launching the anticipated Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion pack and the Xbox 360 version of the game on the same day.

April 18th is the day to mark down if you're ready to jump into the Final Fantasy creator's take on the massively multiplayer adventure. Japan and Europe won't receive the goodies until two days later, but Square Enix attributes that simply to time zone differences. Either way, it won't take long until players are hunting together.

PlayStation 2 and PC owners will have to pick up the expansion pack separately if they want to check out Treasures of Aht Urhgan's unique content, but newcomers hopping onto the HD Era bandwagon will have the original game and all three expansion packs included on one fancy DVD. Of course, you'll also be paying $49.99 instead of $29.99.
