J R make 2
well I just done ep2 and they left it at a to be continued bit!!! grrr. so is ep 3out and has anyone played it and is it good??
Xerno
Episode III is still in production, but there's already quite a bit of info about it. This topic has the most info stuffed together (and obviously also contains spoilers for the previous episodes): clickie
J R make 2
dude, thanks.....you finished episode2?

the last boss was dumb.
vinny1800
Will this one get a european release date?i just spent over £100 to play the first one and its amazing!!!the second one is ok but not as good as the first one. I've heard the battle sequences are going back to the same as episode 1 which will be a real perk for episode 3. I found the battles in episode 2 quite dull.
J R make 2
I did notice that they loaded up real slowly in 2, I have never even played 1 but I would given the oppertunity??

anyway, the dvd with 2 fills you in on the details of 1...so, now I know what happens.....
Valince
Oh this ep will be worth it especially since that annoying as hell zone system is gone.
vinny1800
im also looking forward to return of the vector suit. something i dearly missed in episode 2.

I noticed something when completing Ep2 the second time (and looking at Xerno's Sig)
Chaos is called 'Yeshua' by Wilhelm.
Now Yeshua is the Hebrew word for Jesus, coincidence? or is it trying to hint at something?

Does make sense as alot of his attacks in Ep1 involve angel related stuff (and the final cutscene where he protects KOS-MOS)

Coincidence? Definitely not... not in Xenosaga xP . Actually, in Gnostic religion ( *cough* Gnosis) Yeshua is married to Mary Magdalene. And as rumors go, the existence that rests within KOS-MOS is said to be this Mary Magdalene.

But those are just religious references (the Xeno games are full of 'em), it's not like chaos is supposed to be Jesus, it's more a hint of him being some sort of higher existence (not good at explaining what I mean here, this is the best I can make of it xD ).
Valince
Blah..chaos is obviously not human and he's hinted to it when the matter is brought up, such as in the beginning when he's with Canaan. Also, just look at the proportion of his body, the guy is stretch armstrong.

I haven't played the game yet, so I wouldn't know. But there are a few other topics about Xenosaga 3 here. You can probably find your answer in one of those.

I finnished Xenosaga 3 month ago. Didn't like the idea of game conecting with some things from religion. Ah well... The final boss is not hard I had Jin, KOS-MOS and chaos, but I worn you, the ending is not very sweet....

Really? I thought that that was one of the big things that made the story a whole lot better, but I guess its not for everyone.

I think the game is worth it beacuse even thoguh there alot of lengthy cut scenes you can understand what is happening a little bit more clearly than in the first and second games. Even though there are large mentions of religion, it gives it a story and a reson to exist. Also with religion in play it causes friction giving parties (other characters) reasons to start conflicts and build a deeper story line than saying " Hey this guy is going on a quest to save the world but only one bad guy who wants the power of blahblah and to destroy everything" when really Xenosaga is trying in my opinion a different story even though it is saving the universe there are alot of other things that are underneath the main point to the story that alot of people do not see until they play the game a couple of times.

If that member feels the same way that I did, they mean they don't like how XSIII is portraying God as the enemy to humans. Using scriptures and phrases and twisting them around in negative context. Wilhelm does this a lot during the final encounter..
Xerno
I'm not religious myself, but I found the use of religion over-the-top at one point (spoilers); when they showed Jesus himself, I was like "meh...?". I didn't like that part of the story, it was too religion-specific and I'm not too fond of that.
Valince
I asked someone who is very knowledgable in religion(and this isn't stepping over your comfort zone) about Mary Magdalene. If you wanna know that is..

"(4)Mary Magdalene, from whom Jesus cast seven demons. She was one of the women who was at the sepulchre. She was the first to see Jesus after he arose".

Oh yea the someone was my mom. I don't listen to no one else but her. I don't even go to church. >_>
Xerno
*semi-spoilers*

That's in Christian religion, right? (I should actually know seeing as I went to Catholic school, but I really don't remember stuff like that) In Gnostic religion, Mary Magdalene was Jesus' wife (Yeshua's, as they call him). That's where the chaos x KOS-MOS theory originally came from (for the most part).
Valince
Yes its in the christian religion.

I definatly agree with you... it just didn't sit right with me to see a CG Jesus... also there was nothing in it to specify that there was any connection between the mary Magdeline to plays such a major part in the story and the Mary Magdeline from the bible which I kind of liked. At least they didn't actually bring Jesus into it, I guess in that way they arn't saying that (at least in the Xenosaga universe) christians are right... just the jesus existed (which is most probably true... It's likely a man named jesus DID preach to peopel and claim to be the son of God... whether he was or not is a different topic though).
