Who do u think was the coolest character in Xenosaga and why?

I'd have to go for Kos-Mos. Shes cool looking a walking nuclear weapon.lol and shes funny as well. who do you think

I'll have to say, maybe chaos, seeing that he has a relation with Wilhelm that's revolved in some mistery and such, i don't know much about it myself though, but yeah, chaos for me.

Prior to Margulis' betrayal of Ormus, I would have said him. But, in relation to that and Albedo's emofication, I would have to say the coolest character now is...hm, no idea.

Grahf -- or should I say, Dimitri Yuriev. Come on people, Dimitri Yuriev HAS to be Grahf from Xenogears.

Edit: Oh... no, Yuriev reminds me more of two other people (as I pointed out below).

The coolest? Easy, Yuriev. He's already got that thing going on that I liked so much about Miang in Xenogears: existing over the ages using other people's body as his host (but to a lesser extend than Miang). And he's also got that Krelian thing of wanting to fight "God", but Yuriev seems much more interesting than Krelian in that regard. He actually seems like a combination of Miang and Krelian (creepy! =o ).

Imo Yuriev is Xenosaga's closest thing to Miang as a character... but Miang is still cooler (in more than one way, with that cold personality of hers =p ).

Didn't Grahf have the same type of power as Miang? I thought they both transfered themselves into other bodies?

Wasn't Grahf Wiseman too? I haven't played Xenogears in awhile but I thought this was the case...

Erm... I'll keep this short, as it's kinda off-topic. First of all: *Xenogears spoilers*

Miang and Grahf's power has similar results, but they're quite different. Miang reincarnates into a new female human whenever the previous host dies (because all women in the Xenogears universe have the Miang factor). Grahf on the other hand just switches bodies by forcing his will into the mind of others.

Back on topic, the URTV's were created based on Yuriev's own DNA, which is probably why he chose Nigredo as his host (I forgot where I read this, but I remember having read somewhere that Nigredo is the closest in DNA structure to resemble Yuriev).

The concept is similar to Miang and all the women with the Miang factor in their DNA, but Yuriev seems to be limited to his URTV's (that's less cool =p ). Come to think of it, I agree now with those who said Yuriev probably lasted in his original body through life extension up to the point of his death as seen in Episode II (as there were no URTV's yet until shortly before that).

I mean, he has the DNA of the White Testament... how much "cooler" can you be? He ultimately (maybe) has the power to produce another URTV -- maybe one with a "strong will" like Albedo. Who knows?

Albedo differs in will most likely from the other U.R.T.V.'s. He linked with U-DO and most likely diverged on a separate path of 'willful' ability as compared with the most likely relatively un-unique will of other U.R.T.V.'s such as Rubedo and Nigredo. I have a feeling that with Life Extension, one's will might deteriorate and so, perhaps Yuriev's will is not all that impressive.

Life Extension? The guy's beyond that. Why would his will deterriorate with it, anyway? If he's so stubborn to reach his cause, if he will do it by any means neccessary ("Exceptable losses!") if he will keep on trying to do whatever his mission is, he has a damned strong will.

On the other hand, I think people with strong wills are impossible to possess like that, or will be really hard to. Wiseman/Grahf is a good example. In fact, Nigredo must have a pretty nice will to break out of possession. I do say, the 1-665 Male URTVs would have to be closer DNA-wise to Yuriev due to their hair and eye color. However, unlike Nigredo, they're affected by U-DO and they're all dead. I guess Yuriev just wanted to be immune to his worst enemy. U-DOOOOOOOO.


And actually, Xerno, I revoke my theory of his continous life extention for hundreds of years. According to Episode 1, Cherenkov was a clone, and his wife got herself a clone too. Therefore, it could be possible for old Yuriev to simply clone himself and get a new body.

My answer of the cooest character changed right at the end of the game when Ziggy suddenly pulled out a massive Rocket Launcher... I mean where the hell did it come from. It made me laugh.

Ziggy had it all the way from Episode 1. He could even use it in Episode 1, along with his Beam Pod. 'course you wouldn't know that.

Denim - when Shion said U-DO like that in EpII, I fell out my chair laughing. So unexpected.

KOS-MOS has some cool shine in epI. In EpII there was too much "who the hell are you" with her. I mean come on..she needs more air time.

It's a thing between Virgil, Ziggy, or Cherenkov. I'm just not sure. Ziggy is plain cool, and his backstory is pretty important to the overall story. Virgil is interesting and is a complete bastard, but he had a great voice actor too. As for Cherenkov. Do I really need to explain it?

Albedo apeals to me because of his psychoness (is that even a word? XD) but I also like Rubedo. He is pretty cool, and I always have him in my party =D

I also have MOMO always, she's the best female.

I have to give credit to the old people who created them (Yuriev, Mizrahi) because they have to be cool to create such cool characters XD

Kos-Mos is of-course! Eveything about her is very unique and awesome.

In episode II I never had a party without Chaos or MOMO (except when you can't select them of course). I would agree she is the best female *hides from obsessive KOS-MOS fans*

I think they've hit a winner on most of the main characters... Except Shion in Episode II and Jin (Episode I managed to introduce 6 characters and build on their character but Episode II couldn't even manage one properly).

Junior - He looks like a kid...and he's a friggin' GUNSLINGER! He's like a friggin' badass rebel...if he had anything to rebel against.

I would have liked Rubedo if he would have been a side character like in Episode 1 but I think having him take the main role (and get the most dialogue throughout the entire game) made him quite annoying...

I'm hoping after Episode III I will be totally in love with all the characters... I think Chaos may be my favourite when I properly understand him...

It did? Heh, Episode II is what made me like him. I didn't care about him at all in Episode I, even though he did play an important role in that game as well (especially towards the end). But it was his larger role in Episode II, his past story and further development that made me like him in the 2nd game.

I can see why they made it from his perspective... and it certinaly worked for the very end, but there were events that I think it would have been better if we took a break from Rubedo (Especially when they met with Orgulla... SO MUCH POTENTIAL but instead he just called her a bitch and then you fought... I wanna know more )

On my current playthrough I'm going to be using Rubedo a heck of a lot more (I basically scrapped him for Chaos because I found him useless at the start) So I might like him more this time. (However I have to start yet again because I'm about ot end disk 1 and I forgot to aquire psycho pocket... BAH!)

Yah, I didn't think there was much point to his remark, it seemed a bit out of place to me. Though Orgulla is nice enough to throw words like filth, foul beasts and pigs at the party =p . I'm not sure, but I had the impression she was referring to the party in general, not just Rubedo. So I think it would have worked better if they hadn't focused on Rubedo replying to her, but just had the party in general confront her.


I had chaos in my party at first, but kicked him out because I didn't find him very useful (even though I like his character). I later put Rubedo in the party when I noticed how much they focused on him in the story, so basically when I began to like him more.

In XenoDS the Ormus stronghold and Orgulla are omitted completely, I think. You fight the Issachar inside Labarinthos, right after Margulis. Also while the story's main character is Shion, they told much of Jr's story in Episode 2, although in the end Albedo was confronted by the entire party, and I think that sort of lost the scene's impact. Especially with Jr's rescue by chaos and Nephilim.

Yah, I read about how the whole party will be heading into the Space Time Anomaly in the DS version. I also think that Rubedo confronting Albedo by himself was much more interesting, now with the whole party supporting him I agree that takes away from the scene quite a bit. And that does indeed also mean that he won't have to be resued by chaos and Nephilim.

This is a story change I'm not too fond of, but oh well.

kos-mos is easily the most impressive character...she's so strong and there's just something that I like about her...I'm only about halfway through xenosaga 2 and I'm really wanting to learn more about just who she is...

my other favorite is chaos...he's so kind yet mysterious at the same time...I understand a little bit about his secrets...but at the same time, I still have no idea who he is! I really hope some questions will be answered once I finish the game.

Nephilim...i know shes to Shion as Id is to Fei but i know theres something more there..(i mean..why does she look so much like Sophia? right down to the gnostic cross?) and one of the few characters that bothered me in those games...
i also like chaos...even though he looks like a goon, hes gotta be one of the coolest people in the games...

if i had to pick one, it'd be Jin or Jr.
Jin because he's a swordsman in a high-tech age, which I think is pretty cool.
Jr. because he is powerful and he has red hair!

Her ass kicking attitude really makes her really cool. Her weapon also make her really cool.

I don't really know who my favorite character in all is. Probably Margulis.

For me it would have to be KOS-MOS and Nephilim...Just their general background stories enthrall me, along with what happens to them in the games.

This is really hard considering how cool all the characters become by the end of the game.
I'd have to go with KOS-MOS, by the end of XS3 I thought she was so amazing in every way possible, in and out of battle. They did a great job with her, as she was a big focus of the game.
Then I'd go w/ a tie between Jin or Jr. I like them both in battle. Jr.'s connections w/ Nigredo, Albedo and Yuriev makes for some very interesting story telling.
While Jin is just cool in every way, I dont need to explain why.

Ziggy and Chaos both got pretty cool by the end of XS3, Shion was pretty good all around. Momo really didnt get much in the 3rd Xenosaga compared to how much attention she got in One and Two, but I still like her. GOD I completely fell in love with the Xenosaga by the end of #3.
