Ohkay..so maybe I'm a more than average fan of this game, so just today I couldn't get my controller to work and the Intro came on and showed Mac performing a 'Super Knock Out' uppercut on Bald Bull, using a single star. I searched the Internet and found out that this Is done with the select button, so then I playd the game and pressed the select button whenever I got a star.
Didn't work.
I held the select button down.
No go.
Does anyone know how this unique move Is done?
Thanks, In advance.

Yeah if I remember right you could consume the stars you earned by using a special punch that could be activated with the select button.
That's weird... It should work, but I'd have to dust off the Nintendo to give it a try.

Don't bother, I was drastically misinformed.
It seems that the Start button Is the key.
Bloody cool game though.
I love to play It, makes me remember the hours up on hours me and my siblings wasted playing the NES

I used to play this game when I was little, and I still remember most of it's bosses and attacks. I could only ever get as far as Super Macho Man though. But my best friend was good enough to even beat Tyson I believe. But that's a really big challenge. He K.O.'s you in every single hit he connects, if I remember correctly?

Yeah, the furthest I've ever been to is Tyson... I never bothered to figure out all of his moves so I wouldn't get KO'ed in one punch.
I did enjoy the SNES version of Punch Out as well. I made it as far as Nick Bruiser in the special circut before getting stuck. The game just gets ridiculous to a point where you have to memorize just about everything about the opponent before you can progress.

I've beaten Tyson a couple times. All his punches are instant KOs for the first half of the first round only. Once you get past that, it's easy peasy.
Fun game, though. One of my favorite classics. I'm still a huge advocate of adding Little Mac to Super Smash Bros: Brawl.

Mike Tyson Is a shining eblem to Impossible scenarios and bosses In the Nintendo world. After the first minute and a half, he'll stop the cheap punches.
I myself have only made It to the second round and knocked him down once.
It makes me happy I've accomplished this much.
Now I am a advent one about Mac In Brawl as well, I remember playing Fight Night and unknowingly unlock Mac, my god the fun I had.
But yeah, the whole game Is about memorizing the fighter's patterns. So, If you go down, It's not because the fighter's exactly cheap, It's because you can't remember the pattern.
Bloody fun. =]
