I've only just realised it's eurovision night tonight... in fact, right now! Has anyone been watching it... I only saw the UK act and the one before (I Can't remember the country but they were singing 'we are the winners of eurovision so vote for us' XD).
Does anyone get excited about it anymore? Does anyone watch it? Any acts that you've liked so far?
I don't really find it that entertaining musically... I like some pop music but this stuff sends shivers down my spine... A lot of people find other aspect entertaining other than the music, though I personally find nothing intresting about transexuals in PVC.
By the way... the UK act was awful... what the heck was it all about?

Oh, I already forgot about that. I can't say it really interests me, most of the music usually doesn't seem all that great either. But I do know my country failed for the selection, so we're not participating anyway. So pffft! xD

It failed the selection!? Dude! It must have been bad!
Anyway... I want these guys to win! Just wait for the bald man to jump into action XD

The song we sent in was quite average, yes. Though I'm not into that kind of music so it all sounds average to me either way. xP
But I must say those guys' song and performance in the clip was... erm, "interesting" to say the least xD . I guess they might do pretty well, or maybe not. I can never predict how the audience will respond to something more... unusual like that, lol.

hahahahhaahah, Lordi emerged the winners of the silly competition of false singers (and somewhat decent singers).
I believe most europeans will know what I speak of.
Seing as how image was half the point... regardless of how badly you think of them, Lordi was definately the band to rape this euro-trash celebration. enjoy :>

Omg I hate this program, this competition. Its just such a joke I swear, there is no regard for talent in this whatsoever - everyone just votes for their favourite countries. All the eastern countries vote for each other, UK and Ireland vote for each other. All it is is bias. In the UK it is shown and a british presenter talks over top of it and mocks the show, thats how seriously we take this competition!
Our act this year is a joke. Of all the really good, untapped british talent forming at the moment we pick this load of crap xD. Well personally i hate it, i dunno about others. Same as last year, I mean the glamour model Jordon was a candidate for our entry, for goodness sake!
Meh I didnt watch it.

Every year somebody says "It's all political"... and sadly, it's quite true... Although I'm sure good music, presentation (and in this case) stupid gimmicks come into it, you already know that some countries will give points to another simply because of who they are.
Bubble: I can't stand Terry Wogan but every year he has become just a little more cynical... it's pretty funny now. I have no idea what the British Entry was about... they should put something at least half-decent on next year so it's not embarressing...

It's not ALL political, just look at Lithuania and all the british countries that gave it high points.
Football chants for the win!

Lol. I never used to like Terry Wogan, every year I would just sit there wishing he would shut up. But, as the competition got worse, I started to appreciate his cynacism more xD Our entry this year, just like every year is a joke. I mean if we can produce bands such as the Arctic Monkeys who are headlining at the Leeds festival after only one year of being around, then why can't we find an undiscovered band just as individual and desperate to prove themselves?
Meh, like it would matter anyway with everyone voting for each other, the same countries every year lol.

I would love an amazing band like Muse to play... but at the same time I don't want them to cheapen themselves... but a band which could just blow away the crappy europop with something truley moody and passionate... it wouldn't sound right in a eurovision but I'd still like to hear it...

Well, Flame, it's that kind of music that's the kind thats popular with everyone. It does go through a national voting procedure. So, its still basically the peoples choice.
Muse isn't the right kind of music, I'd say. Unless they made a song for it. There is limitations left, I hope.

I saw Eurovision.Actually I watch it every year, but it is becoming worse and worse through the years.
I liked the winning song, and I even cheered for them to win.And I'm glad they won, because their song was original and different than anyone elses. And they were cool looking monsters.
I also liked the Lithuanians, and I cant understand why the audience booed at them, just because they sang that they are the winners. For the God's sake, they took it very seriously.
I was not satisfyed to see Russia (no offense at any member here, just commenting about the song)on the 2.place.I didnt like their song at all.
I'm sorry that our croatian neighbours didnt get a decent place.I mean, they really had a great song and choreography too.
But I'm glad that Bosnia and Herzegovina got 3.rd.(our neighbours too). They deserved the place, and our composer Joksimovich composed the song.
As for the voting,Bubble is right.Everything is political.Even Serbia and Montenegro voted for their neighbours.
Overall,I like to watch this song contest, but it has become a little lame, but still there are some good songs, but not many. And I felt sorry this year that my country didnt participate, all because Serbia didnt agreed with Montenegrins, whose band would go,so no one went to Athens.
we had such a great place 2 years ago, when Ruslana won. Then we were the second with Joksimovics song"Lane moje"
Ups,long post

So who did win this rather sad program to bring Europe together as a unity?
It is really sad, cause all the eastern countries vote for each other...lame and we vote for Germany and Belgium, even though we don't get along with Germany and make fun of Belgium...it is really lame.
Finland would get my vote if I watched the entire show, but I only watched Finland, gotta love them, best country for metal xD
Hardrock Hallelujah <3 xD

I'd agree muse DEFINATLY isn't the right kind of music, but it would be great if a band could just blow everyone away without the use of corny synthesisers and transvestite PVC clad freaks...
I did hear who won but I totally forgot... I know the UK used to win but I don't even think we try anymore. The eurovision is pretty outdated... it never really moved out of the 70's...

Finland won, they totally deserved it, cause they were the only original ones.
Hard Rock Hallelujah <3
Most of the other bands or people I saw, was some pretty looking blonde in short clothes trying to sing...which failed obviously.

Finland Won.
I can actually agree with that outcome aswell, the only country that came out with a rock band in costumes. Meh, I didn't like any of the performances on show, well, the one's that I managed to catch a glimpse of when I was working xD.
UK's performance SUCKED, I don't care for the british publics tastes these days, especially looking at the "pop" chart.
Never did care for eurovision, it's so cheesed. x.x

I don't even know what's number 1... I don't listen to the radio at all... there are some good bands popping up here and there from the UK... but I don't want to listen through all the crap on the radio just to get to the odd one or two good bands...

ahh it was a shock to us all that Lordi beat the likes of whatever rappers and crappy mainstream stuff that was entered.
As far as I'm aware Scandinavia (understandably) and Enlgand voted for Lordi. England O.o I always thought we were chav ridden, full of people into Eminem and Tupac??
Maybe we are going to see a change in popular music taste? I do hope so.
Anyhoo heres a pic of Lordi in their winning glory, its so fitting

Well I never saw any of the acts, not even the UK, so i cannot really compare. But in regards to what acts there usually is in the Eurovision contest, this song was really original. It is uncommon to hear a rock song in the contest, let alone one as "heavy" as that, for want of a better word. The costumes were wierd but really good imo.
Finally something different! I dare not watch our performance >_<

I've listened to Lordi long before this, They're a pretty catchy band, I enjoy their style of hard rock, and yeah the costumes are a gimmick, like Ozzy biting a bats head etc etc.
They do good music and they won a competition Boo-hoo?

Dude I could have told you that Lordi would have won. They kick ass in all of their GWAR ripoff glory.
What a weird show... Maybe American Idol will catch on and let weird dudes in costumes and corpse paint overtake all that is pop culture. That'd kick ass.
