I always felt bad about not finishing the via infinto in FF X-2. I only made it to the level 60 boss, but gave up. Can someone tell me what happened after level 60?

Cheers.
Zee
You made it to level 60? I made it to 20 and got killed by Kinoc. I thought it would be a waste.

I made it like, the minimum to get, what was it, the dress spheres and a crimson sphere or somethin that was availabe? No more than that, I really wasn't motivated to complete it. The only dungeon like this that I've ever really wanted to finish and did was the hidden dungeon in BoF: DQ.
Xerno
Well, I did make it to the last floor and completed it too. Well, you asked what happens next, so spoilers ahead. On the last floor (#100) you'll meet the one boss that I found somewhat fun to fight, as he does require a good strategy to beat him. He also adds a bit to the story, as it happens to be Trema (you might have heard Maechen mention him, if you didn't sleep through his long speeches, that is).

On floor #80 you'll also see Yunalesca again (don't hope for anything special, she doesn't say anything) as well as her husband, Lord Zaon. You will get a small glimps of how much they cared for eachother, but that's about it. You'll also confront Zaon on floor #100, prior to fighting Trema.

I found the boss fights and extra story (though vèry minor) quite interesting, but making it through every single floor was indeed rather boring. =s

Urgh, I remember sitting through them but that was a while back lol, who was Trema again?
Pesmerga
Finished the entire dungeon aswell, which I will never do again, cause it is lame, boring and kind of pathetic.
Also wtf is with this weak Ultima Weapon being a random enemy in there...lol

I forgot who Trema was, something about something being down there and Trema wanted to get it I don't know. Xerno enlighten us.
Xerno
Erm... I've forgotten a lot of the details, my memory is a bit foggy on this. I know Trema founded New Yevon, with the supposed goal of finding spheres containing info of the past. One day he disappeared (he went into Via Infinito, but I don't think anyone knew this), taking all the collected spheres with him.

As he explains before you fight him, he destroyed all those spheres (it had something to do with his morals about knowing the past, but I forgot what exactly ^^'' ). So while he founded New Yevon to collect spheres, his purpose wasn't to collect info about the past, but destroy it instead. So he was actually using people... evil gramps. =p

Ahh, interesting, I didn't know about that part of the plot. Interesting indeed, this is why I've grown to enjoy X2; at first I really hated it and though tit was a shallow excuse for a FF and had a huge direction problem with where SE decided to go with it. But I've grown to like it because if you give it time, it does enhance the FFX story alot.
Pesmerga
Uhoh, at this time I advice you to stop playing X-2. The game barely has any story and only consists of side quests. This game was and will stay crap =P

Though, if you like it be my guest, it is just my opinion of the game =P

Hahaha dude how are you gonig tocope with XIII with its planned sequels and so on lmao tongue.gif:P we already did FFVII in depth, I can't do this game, my soul will break haha
Pesmerga
You know, I find XIII looking like X-2? Hahaha, so no I don't like that game either, well so far... lol.
But time will tell.

On topic: I was just looking at how much time I spent on X-2...it is WAY too much, but it is because of that stupid dungeon, cause it took me a couple of days to finish argh xD
Mushroom
I think X2 is a really fun game when you take it for what it is: one big sidequest to visit the X world again. If you get more out of it like I did woohoo, if not, well, XII is around the corner smile.gif pelase don't tell me you don't like the look of that haha.

That's the problem with it, it was a big sidequest game to another game. That's what's wrong with it, you don't make a game just to have it being a sidequest for another game. Sure, i liked how it ended, but still, the story was just lacking and it ruined one of the best endings in FF history imo, FF X's ending.

I find the game decent, not bad or good, just decent. (well, maybe a little worse then decent, but better then bad =p)
Mushroom
Haha, I appreciate what your saying, I can't really defend the plot past the crimson squad bits. I'd also agree that the end to X was pretty good, since they usually play it safe with the FF endings, and this really went for it.

And of course SE didn't aim to make a game that was a big sidequest, but unfortunately thats how it ended up; I just try to takethat as a positive. Personally I would have played a sequel to X completely differently if ihad to write up one.
Pesmerga
Oh, I am interested in XII, most likely, apart from Vaan that is.
But X-2 was just annoying, if this was a sequel, then where is the story? It barely tells anything, only those side quests.

Also, the fun things were: seeing the areas again (though only 2 years passed, I thought) and the battle system, everything was useless imo.
Also, it really ruined FF X...such a good ending, screwed over by a Charlie's Angels wannabe game.

Okay..... thank you Xerno. I wasn't looking to start an arguement....

:S I don't see why you're apologising. We're likely to debate any topic that comes up, in some way or another. Its the nature and purpose of the forum, and its most of the fun.
Dante2ndAdvent
Heh,yeah I'm starting to see that.
