Destiny
Based loosely on the Seiken Densetsu series of games.
The Story
Hundreds of years ago, when the entire world was shrouded in darkness and the power of evil held complete sway, people lived in fear. Three great evils ruled the world on the three main continents of Harad, Dolian, and Kysan.
Harad lay to the south, covered in deserts made of glass sands. This land was ruled by a powerful and terrible dragon, many times larger and stronger than any normal dragon. Calling himself the Dragon King, he perched on a high mountaintop in the middle of the desert of glass and claimed lordship over Harad, slaying anyone or anything that dared go against his will.
Dolian lay to the north, covered in snow and ice. This frigid place was once home to a powerful but kind sorcerer who protected his people. But, very soon, his obsession with gaining more power to protect his people consumed him. He began studying evil magics to prolong his life and eventually used an ancient, forbidden spell to turn himself into a Lich, a cruel undead wizard. The Lich was far removed from the kind man he once was, enslaving those who followed him and torturing those who didn’t.
Kysan lay near the center of this world, a temperate place with jungles and forests teeming with life. This land was once home to a great kingdom of humans. The king was murdered by his son and heir, in exchange for power. The prince had made a deal with a demon that if he did so, they would not only give him lordship over his father’s land, but the demon underworld as well. So, the Demon Prince took the throne and divided up the land amongst his trusted advisors who were just as cruel as he.
Now, after a few hundred years, the people of the world, Dwarf, Human, and Elf alike, prayed to whatever deity would hear them. They prayed for salvation, for a hero.
But most of all, they prayed for hope. Hope that they would one day be free.
Then, their prayers were answered. A Goddess descended from the heavens, dressed in gleaming white armor and carrying a magnificent blade legends say shone like the sun itself. With blade in hand, and one by one, she slew the Dragon, the Lich, and the Demon Prince. In a last effort, the Lich used his magic to temporarily resurrect himself and his dark brethren. The three evils combined their powers and struck the Goddess down in a single blow and then perished.
Though the evils were slain, they cursed the Goddess, saying they would return in 1,000 years and reclaim the world. As she lay dying in the jungles of Kysan, she cursed the evils in turn, saying she would also return in 1,000 years, reincarnated in a mortal body.
The place where she died is considered hallowed, holy ground from which a massive tree took root. None are permitted within a mile of the tree without the Grand Sage’s permission. The sword with which she slew the three evils lies enshrined within the Sanctuary Temple and has long since rusted. An elven sage, the first Grand Sage, was present at the final battle and recorded her last words, passing the story down through the ages. It has been nearly one millennium since then. The story has passed from legend into myth. Many now don’t even believe there ever was such a thing as the evils or a Goddess. But many feel that there are dark times fast approaching...
The World Currently
Kingdom of Aras
Lying in the Dragon King’s former domain, this desert country is the largest, but the most sparsely populated. Bands of thieves live out in the desert, making a living stealing from wealthy merchant caravans. The country has no actual government. The towns of the desert regulate themselves.
Kingdom of Lorinas
Set in the frigid land of the Lich, this country is ruled by a council of wizards and sages. The council also employs a task force of sorcerers and magicians to go out into the world and study the many different aspects of magic while secretly spying on other nations. A magical gem known as the Lorina Ruby emits a massive field of energy, shielding the capital city from the cold weather and snow.
Dolian Empire
The most vast country, they control all of Dolian except for the most central regions of the jungle. It is governed by a monarchy currently headed by King Edmund XI. A fair and just ruler, his country is protected by an elite corps of knights, swordmasters, and paladins called the Templar. Known throughout the world as great warriors and heroes, the Templar is welcomed wherever they go.
The Sanctuary
A place outside the jurisdiction of any government, the Sanctuary is home to the Goddess’ Temple. Here, the Goddess is worshipped and many come before the Grand Sage to be blessed, married, and have last rites performed. Most of the people who live here are priests, monks, sages and sorcerers who are always keeping an eye open for the one who is said to be the Goddess’ reincarnation. Within the Goddess’ temple is a room that only the Grand Sage may enter. It is here, the Sanctorum, in which a precise and detailed description of the Goddess herself is kept hidden. The city is guarded by warrior monks known as the Divine Fist, a group rivaling the Templar in their deeds and strength.
The Goddess’ Tree
This massive tree, nearly 500 feet across, soars majestically into the sky, dwarfing the jungle below. An enormous Mana leyline lies beneath the tree, allowing other plants and trees to grow around it, even in the shade. None are allowed near the tree except the Grand Sage and those he deems worthy. It is surrounded by a high wall, patrolled night and day by the Divine Fist’s strongest monks. Legend says the tree marks the point where the Goddess died after her battle with the three evils. Her sword, the Blade of the Sun, is enshrined at the base of the tree. Covered in thick rust, it sleeps silently, awaiting the day it will be wielded again.
Magic
Magic is used by tapping into the world’s supply of magical energy, or Mana. Mana exists in veins of magical energy, similar to rivers that ebb and flow across the land and sea. These leylines of power can be used by anyone with the necessary training to tap into these reserves. However, there are strict elemental laws governing magic. There are rumored to be eight spirits who govern each of the eight elements. All magic known today is said to flow from the Great Nexus, the gigantic Mana leyline that lies beneath the Goddess’ Tree.
Light, Shadow, Air, Earth, Water, Fire, Wood, and Moon.
All magic can be classified under these specific elements. The guardian spirits rarely appear in front of other beings, showing themselves only to a select few. No one has ever actually seen these spirits, so no information has ever been recorded as far as their names or appearances. They do, however, speak frequently with the sages in the Sanctuary City.
Magical Disciplines
Magician/Wizard
The Magician and Wizard require intense training and studying to use their magic. Often only hand gestures are needed and perhaps an incantation. Easily the most powerful magic users.
Sage
The Sages are more mystics than outright wielders of magic. They can ‘read’ the flow of Mana, and thus, interact with it. When they do so, they can heal wounds and diseases. They can also use that energy to create powerful defensive barriers. Some of the more powerful sages can even glimpse briefly into the past and future.
Sorcerer
Sorcerers are the most rare. A combination of the training of a Wizard and the ability of a Sage, one usually spends their entire lives becoming a sorcerer. Usually, only elves can attempt this feat, due to a longer life span.
Races
Dwarf
Standing only a few feet tall, Dwarves are strong and fearless warriors as well as superb craftsman. They usually live in mountains or hills, mining for metals and gems to craft weapons and armor. The average lifespan of a Dwarf is 300 years.
Elves
Elves are very similar to humans aside from their pointed ears and their magical affinity. They tend to be weaker than humans and dwarves, but they make up for it with an ease in learning magic. The average lifespan of an Elf is 500 to 600 years.
Human
Humans are an average race, strong and magically talented, but not to the extents of Elves and Dwarves. Most humans are fighters, but some are talented Sages and Wizards. The Grand Sage, Kahlin, is a human. Humans usually live an average of 70 to 80 years.
Though all races live in nearly perfect peace despite politics in the world, Elves are strictly forbidden to wed or have children with humans. Those who do are cursed, withering away in a matter of years. As such, few half-elves exist. Those that do find themselves shunned outright by other elves. Humans don’t hate them, but are skeptical of them nonetheless. Half elves usually live about 200 to 300 years.
Current Story
The Kingdom of Lorinas is increasing their spying activities in and around the other nations, including the Sanctuary City. Many are not taking this lightly, as the Lorinas nation needs more Mana, and thus, more land. Some in the governments of the world are skeptical of the Sanctuary City’s immunity and the fact that they have such a powerful force of warriors in the Divine Fist as well as many Sages and Sorcerers. Conflict seems imminent as the Divine Fist sends some out into the world with the aid of the sages of the city to try and find the Goddess’ reincarnation as the millennium approaches...
RP Goals
Almost all players will be either searching for the Goddess’ reincarnation or spying around in other countries. Otherwise, you’re free to develop a small plot for yourself in the beginning and I’ll do my best to help and tie it into the main storyline as it proceeds. If anyone likes, I have a couple roles I’d like filled. If no one wants them or if there’s a few left over, I’ll make them NPC’s.
This is NOT a freeform roleplay. I’ll start off with a 1500 character requirement for your posts. If things get going, I’ll raise it a little. If it becomes a problem, well... Let's hope it doesn't.

Go me. I am indeed going to be playing a female in this roleplay. It is something I have not attempted before, but I wish to try something new in my return to Roleplaying here on dreamers. I shall do my best. *Hides in hopes all the female roleplayers don't beat his ass to the ground* At any rate, I really liked this role, so I decided to go for it, regardless of the gender.
And it's been OK'd by Elhaym to go for this character. All I need is sheet approval.
Character Sheet
Name: Meriam Lydronel
Age: 33
Sex: Female
Race: Human
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 138 lbs
Eye Color: Orange
Hair Color: Red
Birthplace: Sanctuary City
Physical Description: Meriam is an athletically built woman, in part due to genetics, but largely do to intense physical training. She entered her monk's order early, and trained hard. Today she is one of the most fierce fighters in the world, but only uses her strength to protect the Grand Sage or other members of the temple or the temple's causes. Described by many as a she-devil, Meriam combines stunningly good looks, with strong devotion to her cause, and fierce combat abilities. Her red hair and orange eyes only add to this rumor that she is a she-devil. In the heat of battle, or in an intense fight, she looks as though she were on fire. And, as anyone who has been on the receiving end of one of her powerful punches, she often is.
Personality: She has a delicate combination of personalities. Though she can be gentle and caring to the monks she commands, and to wounded persons, or persons requiring care, she can be ice-cold on the field of battle or when in combat. She is generally easygoing, but she is thoughtful. Often, she will be the one to use her powerful mind to think through scenario's, and avoid traps.
Class: Warrior Monk
Allegiance: Divine Fist
Weapon(s): Dragon Claws – Specially modified brawler gloves with long blades attached on the back.
Magic: Limited Fire for strength, and limited wind for speed and agility. Mostly elementary and a couple mid-level spells. None of them are offensive. They are all used for boosting stats of one form or another.
Armor: Her armor is primarily leather based. This gives her the ability to deflect some minor punches and side-swipes, as well as keeping her protected from debris and the elements, but it allows a great degree of movement, required for her hand-to-hand agile fighting style. These leather armors are contained underneath a full-cover purple and yellow robe, the mark of the Monk Captain. It is primarily a purple garment, with yellow along the bottom lining, and with a solid yellow line running down the center vertically. It is tied at the middle by a red sash.
Biography: Meriam as born to a loving household in Sanctuary City. Her father was a member of the Divine Fist, but he fell ill and died when Meriam was eight. She was then raised by her mother, an independent and strong woman. Some say her mother was even stronger than her father. Either way, Meriam inherited several very important traits from both of her parents. From her father, she inherited a good physical build, powerful arms and upper body, and swiftness. She also inherited a certain brashness from her father. From her mother, she inherited dazzling looks, a certain gentleness, and a thoughtfulness that often contrasted with her father's brashness. From her mother and father, she learned quickly how to be independent, and make her own way wherever possible.
When she was six, she entered schooling in the Temple school. After her first full year, she was taken out by the school administrators and sent to a special class, for people with good physical capabilities. This rigorous training program was designed to induce Divine Fist members out of the students. It involved a rigorous 7 year training program, followed by an equally challenging 10 year apprenticeship. One of the first tests, was accepting to join the training. The rules were, once you accepted, failing death, serious injury, or emergency as deemed by the headmaster, you could not leave the school, and you could not change your training regimen.
Urged by both her parents to accept, she signed on, and her training began. The program involved both classroom studies, and physical training. The day was divided into three segments for her, with three breaks inbetween to allow for meals. Following wake-up, she had 30 minutes for a breakfast, and then began physical training. After lunch at noontime, she was given classroom studies, where she learned things about the way of the monk, as well as regular classes like history, mathematics, and medecine. After dinner, was seminary studies, in which she (and all other cadets), learned about the church and the history of the church.
Two years after beginning this program, her father died. She was permitted two weeks leave to attend her father's funeral and gather her thoughts. Though her father's death was crushing to her, as a result she became more involved in her studies, and worked hard to achieve the best that she could muster. She endured four more years of training, and completed the final trials in her sixth year, a full year ahead of her classmates. She was the first cadet to ever go through training faster then the average 7 years. This earned her immediate notice amongst the higher ranks of the Divine Fist. Eventually, the Captain of the Divine Fist, Perdimo Madrichus took her in as his apprentice. There she began her ten year apprenticeship.
Perdimo taught her many things she never learned in the classroom. He taught her, not only about the temple's glories, as she had learned in school, but about some of the temple's misfortunes as well. He told her that only by recognizing the faults in something can you recognize it's true greatness and potential. He also taught her secrets of ancient magic, and told her stories of lore, that had been long forgotten by the common folk. As a result, she became widely knowledged in many area's, and was often sought out for advice during her tenure as Perdimo's apprentice.
During her final years as an apprentice, she began attending personal briefings between Perdimo and the Grand Sage. These were private usually, but Perdimo got her admittance because he felt it would help her learn how affairs are actually carried out in the city. She learned all the proper rituals of conversation with the Grand Sage, as well as all the proper honors that must be given when in audience.
Then, six months before her apprenticeship was to be completed, Perdimo died. Though the official investigation into his death ruled that it was accidental, a result of a hunting incident, Meriam always had a feeling in her gut that Perdimo was killed. By who she did not know, and as to why; she was equally astounded. She tried to launch an invesigation of her own, but after dead end after dead end, had to concede defeat, at least for the time being.
Following this tragedy, Meriam took the Apprentice Tests. She passed with flying colors, and was awarded with a membership to Divine Fist. She was also given the special, Ard Inven Vumis honor. It was an old award, called by it's old name, in the language of the forefathers. It meant, roughly, Outstanding Leadership, or something to that effect. It gave her eligibility to be elected as Captain of the Divine Fist, when the next elections were held. Elections for Captain were held every 5 years. The same person could run repeatedly, and could repeatedly be elected, should the Divine Fist electorate wish it. The first election was held soon after her completion of her apprenticeship. She was not so immediately eligible, and was not entered.
Four years after completing the trials, another tragedy struck her. During her apprentice ship, she had met a man, and had fallen deeply in love with him. His name was Elias Grimfort, and he was a rather rugged character from the western lands. Though he was never really specific about his home, Meriam was able to learn it was somewhere in the western grasslands, perhaps in a small village or town near the Qil Inuki Analie river. One day, Elias vanished without a trace. He left no note, no information, nothing.
Meriam was heartbroken. They had been engaged to be married, and this loss nearly crushed her. Only with the help from mother church was she able to recover. Again, as with the last tragedy, she put her energy into her work, and this time, worked to win election as captain of the Divine Fist. The next year, with the coming of the next election, she won.
This was last year. Today, she works as Captain of the Divine Fist, and the eyes and ears to the Grand Sage. She also acts as emissary of the Church when the Grand Sage asks her to. She has found no other man. Some say she never will. Some say she is still holding out for Elias's return. Whatever it is, she had not even been seen flirting since Elias disappeared. It certainly wasn't for lack of attention. Many of the men all over town goggled over her. But they all knew that it would secretly take a very strong and devout man to win Meriam's heart. Her devotion and strength were almost a legend amongst the townsfolk.

I think the names for the countries or continents may have been switched in one of the intro sections. Please tell me if there is anything I need to change or add on.
Name: Feratae Tasatriel
Age: 23
Sex: F
Race: Elven
Height: 5'2
Weight: 105 lbs
Eye Color: Silver/gray
Hair Color: Brown
Birthplace: Dolian, Esrelm City (hope you don't mind me making up a city ^-^

Physical Description: Only 5'2" in height and delicately built, Feratae is scarcely intimidating. Her clothing does nothing to help. Fera typically wears a tunic that is bound at the waist over a pair of leather pants. A cloak sometimes accompanies. Her most outstanding feature is her pale silver eyes. Sometimes when casting magic her pupils will contract severely and only her iris' will appear to remain. As a result, her eyes will resemble mirrors casting light back at the world. Her well spaced, wide eyes and gentle mouth enhance her feminine looks. Like many elves she possesses an element of graceful beauty. Dark, straight tresses fall down to about mid-back and often is clasped back with a silver barrette
Personality:
Feratae is kindhearted for the most part, but if she feels threatened she will not hesitant to defend herself and think later. Not timid in any sense of the word, Feratae tends to voice exactly what she thinks and dislikes being ignored. Despite her sometimes childish tendencies, Feratae has a rational mindset. She is easygoing and tends to leave the area in disgust if somebody becomes abrasive with her. Curious and adventurous, Feratae loves to learn but a sit and study environment is not her thing. She thrives on practical experience.
Class: Wizard
Allegiance: Dolian Empire
Weapon(s): Sword, small dagger
Magic: Moon associated magics, EDIT: lightly skilled with Earth element.
Armor: Light leather at most, maybe metal if she can find some nice light alloys, but otherwise none. As a magic user she doesn't have much practical use for it.
Biography:
The daughter of a well-off merchant family, Feratae had an easily life. There was little her family could not afford to give her. She received formal training in magic along side with regular education. But it wasn't long before her feet started itching to explore the world more directly rather than hearing it out of a textbook. Her parents were quick to pick up on her restlessness and suggested an abroad program, hoping a change in scenery would sate her. It did not. At the tender age of 20, a child really by Elven standards, she packed her things along with some hard coin and disappeared with the aid of her magic. She let a simple note for her family, "I love you, but I have to resolve these issues on my own."
Her sheltered life proved to be a disadvantage when she was on her own. In the first city she visited she lost half her money to a pickpocket. Her attempts on catching the thief only resulted in startling many a citizen of the city and some singed goods. A quick learner, she devised to keep her money under her clothing and in some very hard to reach places. To make up for her losses, she worked in restaurant for a short time. She threw a light spin on the matter calling it an opportunity to learn about many types of people. Indeed she did learn about a good many types of people, but many of whom she would have rather not have meet. Feratae left the city sometime later with a group of entertainers.
While traveling with the troupe, she witnessed one of the men take a bad tumble. An elder woman served as healer in the troupe and set the bone, using a herbal tea to dull his pain. Fera took an immediate interest and begun questioning the woman extensively on medicinal herbs. She recorded the information in her journal. From that point on, instead of writing down her own stories she begun to take down information she learned instead. Picking the woman's mind thoroughly and setting a bone or two herself, she earning a base in medical knowledge. Eventually, she did split from the troupe and continued on her own. She works occasional odd jobs, raiding public libraries, picking up bits of information, and begun working on her own magic skills again for her own safety.
Her family has asked their associates to return the girl if they find her. Feratae has gotten quite skilled at evading them. She is comfortable with her somewhat unpredictable life, particularly knowing that she could easily run back to her parents if needed. For the most part she is well able to take care of herself and travels from area to area, learning what she can about the region and local flora and fauna in particular. Her main interest remains tradition remedies and medicinal herbs.
It may be a tad unrealistic XD I had two possible characters in mind. If this one is not acceptable, I may go for the other.

Cass - Looks good. That's one down.
Sydra - Looks good as well. Approved.
----
Name: Ana Suralyn
Age: 22
Sex: Female
Race: Half-Elf
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 126 lbs.
Eye Color: Gold
Hair Color: Sea Green
Birthplace: Unknown
Physical Description: Ana is an attractive woman by any stretch of one’s imagination. Her wavy hair reaches down to the small of her back and is a shimmering bluish green. Her eyes are a pure gold color. She wears a traditional dancer’s attire, consisting of a silky, slightly revealing outfit a shade darker than her hair. She also wears a red sash around her waist.
Personality: Despite her childhood and the general unhappiness she’s had to endure, Ana is always a positive thinker. She can get almost anyone to smile or laugh, no matter how glum they are. She is incredibly kind and generous, but can be a real firecracker if she’s angered.
Class: Dancer/Sage?
Allegiance: Formerly the Dolian Empire
Weapon: Bishamon and Ashura – (Daggers)
Bishamon is made from a super hard metal made from a black metal called Obsinite, found only in the glass deserts. The blade of this weapon is black.
Ashura is made from an alloy of white Mythril and a hard crystal called Adamantine. Adamantine is virtually unbreakable. This weapon’s blade is white.
Magic: She can heal wounds, though doing so exhausts her. At night, when she moves, she can create magical afterimages of her body. She has little training as a Sage. The fact that she can use magic at all denotes some extreme talent. Her healing is aligned with the Light spirit, while her other talent is Moon magic.
Armor: Being a dancer, she relies mostly on reflexes to avoid damage.
Biography: Born to a human knight and an elven maiden, the curse took her mother at childbirth. He was so consumed by grief, he too soon passed away. Abandoned, the baby was placed an orphanage in a city in the Kingdom of Aras. The only thing found with her was a name and a crimson red sash. Ana grew up in an abusive environment, taunted by children because of her blood and shunned by the many elves in the city she lived in. Alone and unwanted, she ran away, trying to find a place where she would be accepted. As she wandered the desert alone for days, a caravan of entertainers picked her up.
Near death, they nursed her back to health and, when she was well enough, gave her work and a place to live. She traveled with them and learned from the troupe’s fortune teller, who was a sage, about Mana, the legends about the Goddess, and how to use a few magic spells. She also learned how to dance and proved to be a prodigy. She was easily the finest dancer any of the troupe’s members had ever seen. She grew quickly from a skinny young girl into a beautiful young woman, and was performing with the troupe for their nighttime entertainment. Her magic allowed her to create magical afterimages of herself, making an otherwise excellent performance that much more breathtaking.
When she was 17, she left the troupe as they moved through Dolian, wishing to find her own place in the world. She visited the capital and quickly got a job at a large, local tavern. She started making a name for herself, despite her age and her racial background. After a few years of performing, she was asked only a couple weeks before to perform for the Emperor of Dolian, the court, as well as the members of the Templar.

A few problems.
QUOTE (Fenrir @ May 26 2006, 07:16 PM)

Weapon(s): Godslayer, a massive single-edged sword with a blade five feet long and one foot wide. Caine is able to weild the weapon single handedly.
No. He'd have to use two hands unless he always takes wild swings or constantly uses magic to boost his strength, which would drain him far too fast.
QUOTE
Magic: Aside from being able to wield such a massive weapon so easily Caine possess dark abilities all deriving under the element of Shadow. He can inflict others with physical and mental poisons, command undead soldiers, and even cause great damage to others with a mere touch. However, because all these abilites derive from innate power, they are all limited through direct or indirect touch. For instants if he strikes one with his blade, even if its not fatal, he may inflict a poison in his opponents body. However, he can't simply transfer the magic through Earth as it would interfer with the flow of mana, and he can only use one ability at a time. Though it should be known that once an undead is under his command it stays under his command till it destroyed or someone with a stronger will steals it from his command.
This is a little much for someone who isn't a magic class at all. I know what a Blackguard is, too. Get rid of the undead summoning/command. He's a knight, not a necromancer. The most an evil knight would know is how to poison his blade and have a couple Shadow magic spells.
QUOTE
Biography: Caine is the decendant of the Demon Prince of Kysan being the fifith generation since he was slayed by the Goddess. Because of this he has innate powers. However, he should not be confused with the Demon Prince's Second Advent. Though Caine has innate power it is a mere fraction of what the Demon Prince once held. Caine is also the decendant of Andromalius, one of the Seventy-Two demons recorded by the Great Mage Solomon in ancient times, however this blood line has been so deterated that very little of the demon's blood exists in his veins.
Absolutely not.
Shadows of essence

Elyham, hope this is good enough for the Elite Loranis Spy. I fell like I am still regaining my edge, lost due to my absence. If this is not what you had in mind for this role, it is ok. I will create another character, or perhaps just modify this character for a lesser role.
Name: Demnis Eruv
Age: 26
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 129 lbs.
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Black
Birthplace: Lorinath (Capital City of Lorinas)
Physical Description: A simple, faded red tunic, brown pants, a tattered grey cape. These are the clothes that Demnis chooses to adorn his wry, thin frame. With his serpent rod in hand, backpack laden with mystical books, and inquisitive green eyes, Demnis gives the appearance of a student of the magical arts. Exactly what he wants everyone to think.
Personality: Demnis is often seen with his head resting is his hand, contemplating whatever is before him. A lifetime of training to gather, analyze and apply knowledge has caused him to become silent and introspective. However, Demnis will not let his silence stop him from asking questions, for simply analyzing current information will only go so far.
He will openly take an air of parent-like authority with people who have no knowledge of magic. Demnis believes magic is the only true way to protect people. Those without that knowledge, must be guided by those who possess it.
Class: Archmage (Powerful Wizard)
Allegiance: Lorinas High Council
Weapon(s): Serpent Rod – A staff carved from ebony wood in the shape of a viper. (Demnis is unaware of the staff’s origin, a fact that that annoys him greatly. He is unsure why the Council would give him a staff and not tell him it’s purpose.) It seems to focus and provide a boost to his magic skills, but Demnis is still experimenting and researching to find out the staff’s full potential.
Magic: A master of the wind element. Can create razor-sharp vacuums of air and shape them into cutting blades.
Armor: None. His magic is all he needs to protect himself.
Biography:
“Observe, Analyze, Act, Report.”, parting words of the High Council to Demnis.
The earliest memory Demnis can recall is the great hall of the Magic Academy at Lorinath. Apparently, he had shown some level of magical aptitude, because at the age of six he was made a ward of the school. He can not remember anything before then, and his teachers drilled it into him it was unimportant. What mattered was his future not his past. He was to be the eyes of the Lorinas kingdom, allowing them to watch over those who needed the High Council’s guidance. A fact he was never allowed to forget.
For the next five years, Demnis was part of a group of children kept separate from the other students at the academy. They were taught the basics of their educations, rigorously tested, and more importantly trained to glean information from any source. Tests in observation, interrogation, subterfuge, and research were the norm. Despite, the rigid structure of his early years, Demnis and to other children were kept happy and provided with everything they needed.
It was late at night when Demnis was roughly woken up and lead outside the tower. He was loaded into a wagon and taken to an isolated cottage on the edge of the red shield sheltering Lorinath from the howling ice winds of the artic north. It is that night Demnis meet Master Gerconis of the Lorinas High Council, master of Wind.
For eleven years, Demnis was apprenticed to Gerconis. It was during these years, that Demnis’ natural talents with the element of wind became apparent. Under Gerconis’ able tutelage Demnis was able become an Archmage of wind within almost a decade.
Upon completing the tests that gained him the title of Archmage, Demnis was brought before the whole of the Lorinas High Council. It was here Demnis was presented with the Serpent Rod and his first mission from the council.
Four years have passed with Demnis fulfilling his role as a spy fro the Lorinas High Council with utmost efficiency. Often passing himself off as a student who recently lost his master, he enters into apprenticeship to local mages, using them and their connections to gain the knowledge his masters seek.

I'm interested, but I'm only going to take a small role. ^^
Name: Qutien Ishyciel
Age: 16
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Height: 1.65 m
Weight: 65 kg
Eye Color: Slateblue, dark blue at the center and purple at the most outer rings
Hair Color: Blond
Birthplace: Dolinas
Physical Description: Caught in the early stages of his puberty, Qutien still retained much of his shortness though he is slowly growing tall. Having inherited his mother’s slenderness instead of his father’s muscle physique, Qutien looks almost feminine, but not quite. His heart-shaped face is still round from the baby fat that had not be burnt away yet, and his facial features are fairly normal, though more towards the soft side. His golden hair reached to his chin and is of around the same length throughout, except for a single slim braid at the back that reaches to the waist.
Personality: Qutien is a sheltered mother’s boy, though not a spoiled brat. He is obedient, diligent, kind and willing to forgive and please, basically every bit the perfect kid every parent would want. However, he is also too kind, innocent and trusting, and unable to understand the negativity in people due to his lack of exposure to that. He also has a habit of burying everything that troubles him deep into his heart instead of telling others, and makes it hard to tell if he is indeed troubled.
Class: Fighter
Allegiance: Templar
Weapon(s): A pair of normal short swords and a dagger for emergency
Magic: none that he knows of
Armor: Normal light leather armor
Biography: Qutien’s father, Inmreari Ishyciel, was a well-respected and loved knight who died before he was born. Inmreari was rumored one of the best knights that his order ever had, and was a handsome man who caught the eye of many maidens. His marriage to childhood sweetheart, a baroness by the name of Syia Sireaus, broke many hearts. His sudden and mysterious death a year later broke even more.
Qutien was born six months after his father’s death, and his mother transferred all her love to him. If he was not born with a good sense inherited from his father, he would have been spoiled and become a good-for-nothing noble, but his father’s best friend, Seun Ruikanus, was quick to step in. He became the child’s godfather and essentially, he became the father figure for the boy and taught him all that he should know.
When Qutien was old enough, he became knight in training in Seun and his father’s order. But it did not take long to discover that he is more speed-based and not strong enough to use a normal long sword, but instead, he is much better with using a pair of short swords. Though he is a quick learner, for some reason, he is hesitant and unable to use his skills fully in sparring matches, puzzling his trainers and disappointing Seun greatly. That also affected him, even though he did not appear to be.
Qutien was present when a half-elf dancer was performing for the Emperor and the court, and he was since then smitten by the blue-haired lady, much to his mother’s unhappiness. For weeks, he had been trying to find her just to see her dance again.

Yeah, I agree about my bio. After writing it and thinking about it, I didn't like it. The only thing in there I liked really was being related to one of the 72 Demons of Solomon. I kept that bit in my new bio, though I changed the demon (I just like the name Asmodeus more). I don't see what was wrong with the magic ability, I mean I said I can command undead. I never said I can make them, though I took it off anyways. As for the ability to weild such a massive weapon, well... Caine is usually strong, maybe not Juggernaut strong but still pretty damn strong. And that strength is from a magical nature he recieves from his unique bloodline. It doesn't really drain him just like it doesn't drain a ghost for existing.
Name: Caine Asmodeus
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 180 lbs.
Eye Color: Red
Hair Color: Black
Birthplace: Dolian Empire
Physical Description: Caine is an atheletically built man with a dense muscle structure and a very dark charisma about him. He wears dark clothing which makes him look very intimidating especially with his massive sword, Godslayer, on his back. Apart from his black armor which do not cover his arms, he wears black trousers loose enough for full range of movement in the legs, heavy boots with small metal spikes on the bottom for good traction even on wet gravel, a pair of black metal bracers each with the symbol of Asmodeus on them, and a pair of black studded gloves designed mostly to cause damage in a fight then to protect hands from harsh weather.
Personality: Arrogant, hateful, selfish. Within Caine are all the darker emotions which seem to fuel him. He is willing to do anything to accomplish his goals no matter the consiquences and seems to care little for anyone else. He follows only the path of destruction and chaos. However, there is still some kindness left in his heart.
Class: Blackguard
Allegiance: Himself
Weapon(s): Godslayer, a massive single-edged sword with a blade five feet long and one foot wide. Caine is able to weild the weapon single handedly.
Magic: Asaid from have a magical feat that allows him to weild such a massive weapon with ease, Caine possesses dark abilities deriving from the element of Shadow. He can inflict others with physical and mental poisons and cause great damage to others with a mere touch.
Armor: Black Leather Armor and black ring mail.
Biography: Caine is the decendant of the demon Asmodeus, recorded as one of the 72 Demons of Solomon. It is this linage that possesses him with great strength and innate magic powers. However the bloodline has become so deluted that only a mere fraction of Asmodeus' power exists within Caine.
Caine was born to a poor family in the country side of Dolian. Though his family had very little money he grew up happy. However over the years that happiness turn into sadness, regret, and hatred. His father was virtually never home always trying to find a good paying job, and his mother always felt alone. Becuase of this he began to hate his father and over the years that hatred grew stronger and stronger in him. However, when he was seven his father died, killed by and band of rogues. Caine then turned his hatred towards himself because had hated his father. Soon after his mother died, many believed it to be from a broken heart. When this happened Caine's hatred from himself grew larger and larger. He hated himself, for being weak, for not being able to save his mother and for hating his father. Because of this, the darkness in his blood began to possess his mind. It showed him a way to become stronger, by killing. Since then Caine has spiralled down the path of destruction killing and murdering countless people. At first they were random and pointless murders, then he started killing only those who could fight, and finally his killing became his main trade. Mostly he was hired to kill major political figures for money, sometimes wealthy merchants or gang leaders.
Recently he found that he couldn't become any stronger by just killing people. And so he sought to find the ultimate power, the sword of the Goddess, the Sword of the Sun. He believes if he can possess the weapon he would possess unlimited power, the power of the Goddess.

May 28 2006, 04:46 AM
Wow, can't believe I missed that.
When I designed Demnis, I was picturing a human. However, seeing as this is a role Elhaym requested, she has final say seeing as it might affect her story. Demnis could be converted to an elfwithout much trouble. A dwarf would require a bit more rework (besides I can’t stop laughing at the image of a dwarf with a staff).
But for the meantime, Let’s just say he is human unless Elhaym says other wise. I have edited the profile.
Nice catch Sydra.

I left it blank because it wouldn't matter. But now that it's brought up, a Dwarven Wizard would be a little odd. Human or elf is fine, whichever you prefer, Shadows.

I'm just curious here.
Most of our characters are starting in some city or another. My own is beginning her adventure in the Sanctuary city.
Are we able to then, within the obvious limits of reason, to build the city we start in as we see it in our minds? I mean, not literally build, but describe as we see it?
For example, in my first IC post (which I'm in the process of writing), I describe the details of the Sanctuary City, as well as the Grand Sage's temple, the Divine Fist barracks, and the common area. I invision it as sort of a mixture between medieval Vatican City, and Ancient Greece. And I will describe it as such.
The only qualms I have are, what if our vision is different from the Elhaym's vision of our city?
And furthermore, what if more then one person has to interact within the city we have described (if we choose to do so).
Are they required to use the same descriptions that have been laid forth?
I only ask this, like I said, because I give a thorough description of my vision of Sanctuary City in my post, and I want to make sure we are all on the same page with this.
And expect more random questions from me in the future. This is how I roleplay.
xD

Name: Kisling Odea
Age: 53
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 164 lbs.
Eye Color: Grey
Hair Color: Black, with streaks of Grey
Birthplace: Lorinas
Physical Description: Signs of age are beginning to set in, but despite that, Kisling remains to be quite fit for his age. He wears crimson robes that are tattered and worn, but he refuses to purchase new ones. He has a small beard, roughly two inches long, that is mostly grey with black specks.
Personality: Usually cold and ruthless, but his lighter side has been seen by Garnen Elmen. If someone attacks him or Garnen, he will not hold back on killing the attacker.
Class: Mage, fire based.
Allegiance: Used to be with Lorinas.
Weapon(s): Oak staff, used for walking. Also has a short sword, Brinfor, which glows red, infused with fire. Upon landing a blow with Brinfor, the wound becomes cauterized, but the pain remains for weeks.
Magic: Mainly deals with fire magic, based off of drawing runes into the air. Is mainly an attacker, and the accuracy of the drawn rune determines the strength of the magical attack.
Armor: None, he needs as much maneuverability as possible to draw his runes, and with the help of Garnen, is able to down most foes before they get within striking range.
Biography: Born in Lorinas to two mage parents, Kisling was raised to believe in the Goddess and the "rights" of Lorinas. He knew nothing else, and until he was 25, he had never been outside of the capital city, raised as an aristocrat. However, he soon met Garnen, whom showed him the life of a ranger, as thanks for enchanting his axe.
At that point, Kisling had become "enlightened," he knew that a world existed outside of the capital city, and he knew that there would always be someone more powerful than he, but until this point, he never gave it much thought. Garnen was perhaps his first friend, something that Kisling would never forget, and as such, thought of Garnen as more of a brother, despite the racial barrier. Kisling removed himself from Lorinas, at this point, because he thought that their ideals were wrong, and perhaps even evil. Kisling is quite cold, in stark contrast to his magical affinity, but this is only because of his having been raised in Lorinas. His ideals may also at times contrast directly with his personality, allowing for an inner struggle of sorts to arise. However, Garnen has offered his support countless times, whenever the mage is at odds with himself.
(OOC: Not the best, but I haven't RP'd in a medieval setting in so long... Hope it's good. =D)

Name: Garnen Elmen
Age: 60
Sex: Male
Race: Dwarf
Height: 3’ 6”
Weight: 97 lb.
Eye Color: Burgundy
Hair Color: Brown
Birthplace: Lorinas
Physical Description: Standing roughly 3 feet and 6 inches tall, Garnen is a bulky, burgundy-eyed dwarf. His clothing isn’t too shabby either. A somewhat decorative brown leather coat and slacks are what he wears most of the time. Though, they look as though they’ve never even been washed. His elongated brown beard stretches out in front of his cauldron shaped belly.
Personality: A witty, yet stubborn dwarf with the eagerness to learn what is out there in the vast wilderness. His social skill area does, however, need a fix here and there. His dear friend Kisling is the only one to get full sentences out of him, while others have to constantly ask what it is he has said.
Class: Craftsman/ Ranger
Allegiance: At one point in time he was a follower of the Lorinas council. He now travels the land seeking out the Goddess reincarnated with his friend Kisling.
Weapon(s): The Grand Axe of Elman. The axe itself was enchanted though by Kisling Odea, a wizard whom he had met, with a paralysis spell that made the opponent feel immobile from the slightest touch of it. He also wielded a shorter, 2 feet in length, armor piercing battle-axe that was more suitable for closer battles.
Armor: From neck to toe, Garnen is covered in a rough leather outfit that seems suitable for the time being. He is, at the moment, crafting a set of armor for himself.
Biography: Born in the mountainous region of the Lands of Lorinas, Garnen was the son of a sage dwarf who knew only how to heal. Garnen never picked up the magic that his father knew; instead he grew a strong desire for the craftsman art. Later on, he was almost casted out by the council until he agreed to assist them in any way possible. As a pet for the council, he was ordered to find an old elk tree that was to be used for new wizard staffs. He undertook this command, and every month from then on he was to travel to this tree to collect branches from the tree so that they could be made into staffs.
A few years had past before Garnen had decided that it was time for him to leave the lands of Lorinas, as well as the council. Seeing as how the council was very displeased with his decision, he made an offer that they themselves did not want to turn down. He promised them that he would report anything about the reincarnation of the Goddess, as well as provide them with the elk wood of the tree he had long been gathering for them, but only every three months now.
With new lands to observe, he set out in search of the reincarnated Goddess. Through his voyage, Garnen came across a wizard by the name of Kisling Odea. This meeting led to a friendship and a partner to join him on his voyage.
(Hope this works Elhaym.)

Should I be worried by the slow crawl of activity in this RPG?
I know it has only been a few days since I made my post, but usually the RPGs start out with a flurry of activity and THEN slow down. We are still missing three people's intro posts and I was expecting a couple of posts over the weekend, which is usualy the time of most activity.
Not that I'm complaining, I prefer a slow even pace as opposed to people posting several times a day, when I can do nothing but read and watch the plot fly by (Metionian Sun anyone?)
I am just wanting to find out if maybe things changed in my abcense and everything now goes slowly.
Bottom line, is everyone still interested in the RPG?
