Well once more I'm pretty sure I'm going to be the only one posting in this topic... But I'm sure someone is going to read it and eventually you bastards are going to catch on to how awesome MMA is. These are true fighters, athletes, and dedicated warriors that enter the Ultimate Fighting Championship's patented Octagon, and they're always a treat to watch as they rock each other, go for slick submissions, and have one on one wars in front of thousands of people live, and even more watching them on PPV. It's a must see spectacle of excellent skills by whichever warriors are battling it out for the evening... And it's not that fake wrestling garbage, it's as real as it gets.
I'll be going over the main card and some of the more exciting undercard fights, the rest of the card can be seen here, as well as further information about the fighters on the card:

Also, further information reguarding Royce Gracie and Matt Hughes can be found here:

Contains interviews with both fighters and UFC President Dana White, an in depth preview and trailer for the event, and many more cool things. Check it out.
Royce Gracie:
Height: 6.1
Weight: 180
Record: 13-1-2
This time in the Octagon we have the legend, one of the originals, Royce Gracie in the ring tonight. Royce and his family pretty much started the UFC back in the early 90's, proving that his style of fighting, Gracie Jiu Jitsu ( a variation of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ) was the best and most important fighting styles to know. His fighting style is now considered a must in the world of MMA, you'll hardly see a fighter any more that doesn't at least have a bit of BJJ training, and that's because Royce proved by defeating 12 men in the octagon, 3 sometimes 4 a night, winning 3 UFC championships and sealing an undefeated record in the octagon. The question is, will Royce be able to come back to the UFC and MMA and dominate the new style of MMA fighters? The well rounded fighters that the game has created over the years? It's a different sport now, and Royce may be nothing more than a legend after this fight.
VS.
Matt Hughes:
Height: 5.9
Weight: 169
Record: 40-4-0
His opponent is one of the most dominant welterweight fighters of all time, Matt Hughes. He's had 8 championship belt defenses, only 4 career loses and now a total of 40 wins... Sporting him a 10-1 win/loss ratio that any professional MMA fighter today would love to have... And most importantly the love and support of not only the UFC fans, but the UFC itself. Matt is a poster boy for the UFC now, and is definitely a recognizable face as MMA is slowly becoming more and more popular. He's a dominant wrestler who has shown that sometimes power can overtake technique... But the question for this fight is, can his power and well rounded skills overcome one of the best jiu jitsu fighters of today? I certainly hope not as personally I'd love to see Matt Hughes lose by submission to one of my favorite fighters... Plus his ego is so far out there due to his dominance that he's starting to come off as a bit of a cock.
It's a non title card meaning that there is no belt on the line... Just two legends fighting it out to prove what each one has to the thouands of dedicated fans that are going to be watching around the world. It'll be a truely exciting event, one that I hope to see.
And lets not forget the undercard, it's filled with some great bouts as well.
" The Truth " Brandon Vera:
Height: 6.2
Weight: 223
Record: 5-0-0
Brandon is one of those new breed of fighters who are working on all the skills available in MMA... While he'll tell you his ground game is where he is superior, you wouldn't know considering he's coming off of an awesome high kick to the head knockout of an opponent in UFC 57 ( Justin Eilers ). The Truth definitely has promise, but considering his opponent is a tough as nails brazilian MMA vetran, I think he's going to have his hands full.
VS.
Assuerio Silva:
Record: 30-3-0
Vera is going to have his hands full with this fight I think... Silva is an MMA vetran and sports a nasty record of 30 wins with only 3 loses... He's a great fighter who has performed well overseas in Pride FC ( another great and respectable MMA association ) and he put on a pretty solid performance against the current heavyweight champion Tim Silvia. I'm really thinking Silva may have the upper hand here, as he's not shy of fighting like some newcomers can be when fighting in front of a large crowd, and he's got devestating strikes. I see this one going to Silva but I won't say that The Truth is totally out of this fight.
Mike " Quick " Swick:
Height: 6.1
Weight: 185
Record: 10-1-0
Mike lives up to his nickname " Quick " After spending under ten minutes in the octagon in his total career. His first two fights were over in less than 10 seconds as he knocked out both opponents with devistating flurry punches... And his third fight ended via guillotine choke, just not so quickly. Mike is an exciting fighter and I think definitely holds some promise in the somewhat lackluster UFC middleweight division.
VS.
Joe " Diesel " Riggs:
Height: 6.0
Weight: 185
Record: 26-8-1
Personally I don't really care for Riggs... He does sport a good record but I just don't think he's that great of a fighter. Plus he looks like some piece of white trashed scraped up from a trailer park. My hopes go for Swick by knockout in the first round.
Diego " Nightmare " Sanchez:
Height: 5.11
Weight: 170
Record: 16-0-0
Diego sports a flawless MMA record and shows no signs of stopping. While his opponents so far have not been the top MMA contenders in the world, Diego is still showing well rounded skills and an excellent ground and pound game as he slowly crawls his way up in the UFC welterweight division. Look for a possible submission or TKO by Diego in the second round.
VS.
John Alessio:
Record: 22-8-0
Don't know much about John but I see him losing this fight... Nuff said.
Jeremy " Gumby " Horn:
Height: 6.1
Weight: 185
Record: 86-14-6
Possibly the most experienced fighter in MMA ( only one other fighter has more MMA fights than Jeremy ) Jeremy is a threat reguardless of where he's fighting or in what weight division. It's not surprising to see Jeremy go from welterweight to middleweight to light heavyweight... He's willing to fight at any weight and prove that his skills and technique can outmatch any opponent. And he's pretty much right, given that he's sporting 86 victories. My bet goes with Horn on this one, he's such an experienced and talented fighter that it's hard NOT to give him the edge in any fight.
Chael Sonnon:
Height: 6.1
Weight: 185
Record: 14-7-1
Don't have much to say about Mr. Sonnon... He put up a pretty decent fight against a great LHW fighter in Renato " Babalu " Sobral, but I just don't think that he's going to be able to hang in there with the likes of Horn. I don't see Horn truely beating him out or anything, but I do see this one going to a decision or possible ref stoppage in the favor of Jeremy.
Well that's all my coverage for the more interesting bouts on the card, I think it's going to be a great and exciting matchup and even though it IS a 40 dollar PPV ticket, it's highly worth the price if you're interested in getting involved in one of the greatest, if not the best, sport today. These guys are true warriors and atheletes and push themselves further than any pansy ass Baseball or Football player getting payed 30 million a year to hit a ball out of a park or throw a ball down a field.
