The last Battlestar Galactica game title may not have been a huge hit, but that's not stopping creator Ronald Moore from wanting to experiment with new ideas.

Based on some of Moore's recent comments, there's speculation that a new Battlestar title may be in the future. The show's a big hit among sci-fi fans and it's considered to be perhaps the best ever in that genre by many. Based on this, it's likely there could be a much better Battlestar game than what was delivered in the past.

The initial Battlestar game was a shooter that came out in 2003. It sounds like Moore has an interest this time in a different kind of RPG this time around.

"I've thought about doing something where you start a property across mediums, with Internet participation and role-playing video games," he says. "Not every show or property will lend itself to that type of hybrid environment, but if you set it up from the get-go to design it that way, I think that's a really rich and interesting place for the business to go."

Considering Moore's creativity, it's likely anything he puts his heart behind would be worth watching. It will be fun to see what develops from this.

Anyone else care about this? I'm a huge fan of the new series, best thing that hapened to the sci-fi genre in a looong time I say. I'm sure this will come around eventually. I wonder what kind of ideas Moore has in mind for the game, and how much it will invole the internet.

Hmm, very interesting. I'm a fan of what little I've seen of the series (my brother has the first season on DVD, I see what I can when I can, I think I'm up to Episode 10 maybe?), but I didn't expect a videogame. I didn't even know the first one existed. X_X

If it's for PC though, there's no way in hell I can run it. And even if I could, it would be too locked down to use the Internet, or even to save, like all my other goddamn PC games. dry.gif
