Well in my mind i think in

Final Fantasy 7- The best character is Cloud but i like Vincent a hell of alot more, and the best summon in Knights of the Round.

final fantasy 8- the best character is Zell i didnt find Squall that helpful at all,and the best summons is bahamut but non-summon ODIN.

final fantasy 9- The best character is Zidane but Vivi rocks because he is the best in ff9, and the best summon well dagger it would be ark or bahamut and i never used eiko so i dont know her's

AND MY FAV SUMMON OF ALL TIME IS BAHAMUT and the new bahamut zero lol

FF VII:
- Character: Cloud, best moves and damage.
- Summon: Knights of the Round

FF VIII
- Character: Squall, best moves and damage.
- Guardian Force: Eden or Cactuar, most damage

FF IX
- Character: Steiner, simply the strongest character in the game
- Eidolon: Ark or Atomos, most damage is dealt by them.

Anyway as for My Favourite characters from FFVII, VII, IX (Though that isn't all time as Pes already said XD)

FFVII: I've gotta go with the Girls on this one... I've laways had a soft spot for Tifa but the more I play the more I also like Aerith. I strangly like Yuffie as well...

FFVIII: My favourite was probably Zell... Next along would be Rinoa, Laguna and Ward...

FFIX: VIVI! Sorry, it's very Cliche but this is my favourite character. Next along would be Amarant. I hated eiko but loved her in battle.

Uhm, just a reminder, he didn't asked for your favourite, but for the best character/summon in each game. I mean Steiner isn't by far my favourite, I hate him with a burning passion.

FF VII: Must be Cloud, great character, great storyline behind him

FF VIII: Rinoa, loved the scene in space or her limit break dog angelo

FF IX: OFcourse it is Vivi, cool small mysterious character with some very strong magic

FFVII:

Character- No one, FFVII characters are the worst, cliche'd to the core, shallow, ugly, stupid and thats general, dont get me started on Cloud or Sephiroth. But hats beside the point, Cloud was the better one to use, good balance of strenght and magic and his Limit Breaks were actually useful.

Summon: Knights of the Round definetely, sure it takes about an hour to end but its pretty neat and kicks hard.

FFVIII: Hmm, i am gonna say that in FFVIII characters didnt mattered besides their limit breaks (or whatever they were called, and this is my favourite FF, i suck) and weapons as they could all have the potential to be built into magical power houses, so i am gonna say Squall because the gun blade owns.

Summon: I would say Eden but Eden never did much for me, so Bahamut.

FFIX:

Characters: Vivi, hands down. Sure Vivi sucks at Physical but owns in magic, Double cast for the win. Maybe its because i hate Zidane.

Summon: Dont know, I am gonna say Ark, he packed a punch if I remember correctly.

Damn me for misreading... Oh well we all make mistakes.

My Answers would probably be exactly the same as Pes's. They simply deal the most damage in the game but I agree, I despise Steiner... I hate using him because he is just too overpowered.

FF VII: Cloud, simply because of stats and Omnislash
Summon: KoTOR, but it takes so damn long >_>

FF VIII: Squall, same reasons as Cloud, and limit break LionHeart
Summon: Eden, and again too long...

FF IX: Steiner, because he's a powerhouse if you teach him the right moves.
Summon: Ark, guess, long? You got it

See a pattern? The most powerfull summons just take too damn long, that's why I don't regard too much on summons, just when I really need to v_v

Well, there are two summons in FF VIII and IX that deal as much, Cactuar deals 10000 (while Eden deals over 20000) and Atomos deals 9999 along with Ark, at least it does so on my save.

Well Cactuar only deals 10000 if it is at Level 100 while Eden always does crazy amounts.

Also Atomos deals with Gravity, It'll deal 9999 to bosses and enemies who have more than 9999 HP... but as their HP goes down so does the attack. I don't think it's possible to kill anything with Atomos, therefore I guess ark is the better one technically.

There always seems to be one uber-summon in every game... if it wern't for them there could be a bit of argument between who is the stongest. For Example, if there wern't KotR I think the best summon would go to Hades or maybe Bahamut ZERO.

I killed with Atomos. I was fighting against the Chimera's and Iron Man in Memoria, this is my attack pattern:

Zifane: Steal (with Mug, Master Thief and the other thief skill on) 2000 damage
Freya: Dragon Crest 9999 damage
Vivi: Flare 8000 damage
Garnet: summons Atomos 9999 damage. Opponent defeated. It might be because their total HP is over 10000, dunno but for some reason I always deal a lot of damage with Atomos, more then summons such as Leviathan, Bahamut or Madeen.
