The Hero of Time

First image of the Pokémon game for Wii, tentitivly titled Pokémon Battle Revolution. The game will support multiplayer action via wifi, as well as VOIP chat during gameplay.

The screen kinda reminds me of Advance Wars, lol, but the graphics look rather nice, I guess. I haven't played a Pokémon game since Saphire for the GBA. I kinda feel the formula is getting old, just adding more pokemon and features. Yeah that's sequels, but I'm hoping they go back to basics with this one, strip the series down and rebuild it. Differently.

I think Nintendo lost a lot of fans when their games no longer could connect to eachother. The older with the newer that is. If they keep doing that then the whole point of the game loses it's charm.
I don't know what this pokemon game is about, but I suspect I won't be able to use my monsters that I saved on my Pokemon Crystal game. (Have to start over again with Leaf and Fire + Emerald and co.)

I think this is another Battle Colluseum game, right?
The Hero of Time
Yeah this is a battle type game, like the N64 and early Gamecube title, not like Pokemon Gale XD, a 3D pokemon game.

It seems to connect to the DS, but I dunno how. The obvious thing is you upload your Pokemon from your DS to play on Wii, but the translation is horrific.

It seems more to be pointing towards a single game you play on DS and Wii, and that it's in 3D on Wii and 2D on the DS, moving your save file and continuing the adventure on the move or at home.

Alternativly, it could be that the DS is a controller for playing on the Wii console, like Crystal Chronicles, [except no wires <3] It's hard to tell, but it's definatly more than the feature of Collisium and GBA connectivity.

I think Hiku means that the Pokemon touch each other, which didn't happened on the N64 and thw Cube, something quite some fans are looking for.

I wanna know that aswell, cause I played both the N64 game and I have the Cube game myself and it looks rather sad, a physical attack like tackle and then not hitting my opponent, well magically yes, but in reality not.
The Hero of Time
Well, it is a game. Complain about the realism of a 2000 tonne whale fighting an electric mouse. laugh.gif I know what you mean though. It's kinda between Collesium/Battle Stadium and Gale of Darkness. It's not a full 3D adventure, but nor is it just a pretty add on to other games.

I just watch a video of it. I have to say, it's the best looking Wii game I've seen, by far. There are some interesting effects and physics going on. None of the attacks showed the Pokemon 'touching', they were all projectile attacks.

One Pokemon used some kind of beam attack, and it melted the floor during the attack and knocked over boxes, and the damage remained. During the next turn the damaged Pokemon was stood inside the still burning crater.
I guess that goes some way to show they are making it more 'solid' and 'believable', the last 2 iterations were just the GB/A games with tarted up visuals. This seems to be a lot more than that.

Lol, I cant get over how good it looked. I guess those comments ATi made about what we saw at E3 being the 'tip of the iceberg" in terms of Wii's power, were true. ohmy.gif

Well, that sounds good to me, but I am really interested in the physical attacks. It was promised to us that they will "touch" each other when they physically attack each other, but they left it out in Colliseum and Gale of Darkness wasn't really a new game.

I am really interested in this game and to see if it connects to Pearl, normally the console would be able to connect to the current handheld, so I am expecting it will be eventually.

No actually I meant that since you can't transfer pokemons from the first 6 Pokemon games (R/G/Y and G/S/C) to the latest 5 games (Leaf & Fire and S/R/E) I wouldn't be able to transfer and use the Pokemons I have on this game. Since I only played up to Crystal.
I didn't feel like catching those 300 + pokemons all over again in the remake versions.
I just hope that this doesn't happen again. That the latest Pokemon games won't be able to transfer and connect with the upcoming ones, for those who still play the games.

But even the latest Pokemon game for DS looks like it's lacking animated sprites for attacks. Just 2 or 3 switching frames as usual...
It's like they do it on purpose just so people will buy the Culluseum/Battle games to see them fight in full animation.

Here's a video.
