I've bought I DS Light, (pre-ordered), thinking Nintendo's done it again. Brighter, smaller, redesigned. However recently, I visited GameFaqs.com Message Boards, And was amazed to find how many people were having problems, with their newly purchased handhelds. Ranging from Dead Pixels, to a loose volume slider, I've looked over my DSL(DS Lite) closely. I saw 1 dead pixel, and that was it. I even read that some DSLs had reversed Screens!! Another thing I heard was there are two different types of touch screens. 1 has a grid pattern, and the other has a "bacon" effect, these are small pieces of colors, in the touch-screen. Apparently, the "Bacon" pattern is kinda hazy, but accurate, and the other Grid pattern is crisp, but not as accurate. I personaly have a grid pattern, and it's as accurate as the DS.
What's going on at Nintendo?
Anybody else want to comment?

Err, what the hell? o.o'
I dunno, I guess they were a bit hasty with the first version, like Xbox 360.
Things will probably improve in the later versions of DS Lite.

So, trolls maybe? Because my DSL is PERFECT, no dead pixel, good volume slider, wtf is with the reversed screens? Yeah and very bright! So all good here.

Mine is perfect as well. Absolutely nothing wrong. Personally I think it should have been like this in the first place, but eh, trial and error. My only gripe was the fact that the Advanced games stick out of the bottom now instead of fitting all the way in. But I got over that about five minutes after I noticed it. I'm not one to gripe about bull like that for long. I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

Mine's just fine too. It had a single dead pixel on the top screen, but that went away a couple days ago. Everything is working just fine so far, the volume slider is easy to move (but not loose), the touch screen responds correctly, the screens are in the right places, it's all great.

As is always the case with every product, the first batch are faulty. Thanks to the wonder of the internet, everyone who owns one that's screwed, can let thier voice be heard.
You wont get people shouting "my DS works perfectly! That is all." You know what I mean. It's never as widespread as it seems.
Its under warrenty so job a good'n, you can just get a new one. BTW, do you think it's worth it if you already own a DS? I did want one, but the more I think about it the more I wonder if it's worth it.
Most of you guys already had a DS, so let me know what you think.

Well, the thing that sold it for me was the brighter screen. I love having the brightness on things turned up rather high, and the DS Lite has a level of brightness that hurts (seriously). A friend of mine can't play it without wearing sunglasses, if the brightness is turned all the way up (as mine is).
The colors seem to be more lively, I guess the term is, and the stylus is thicker and longer, making for easier grippage. My hands feel so much better now when playing games like MPH, because it's easier to hold.
If you can sell your old DS, or if you've got the money to spend it on, go for it. I'm rather pleased with the results, and you guys in Europe can get the black one.

So lucky...

Well I never really had a big problem with the DS screen brightness. The UK isnt as bright as Cali. XD I hear images are also crisper though, so that's something.
I dont have much of an issue with the stylus either, and only once or twice have I wished the screen was brighter. Is it really worth spending money on?
So basically, for me, I guess it comes down to how much I want a pretty looking device...Damn, I know I'm gonna get one, it really is pretty. Even though we have the black one here, I'd get a white one to match my iPod.

I definately found my DSL worth it, I sold my old one for 100 and bought a DSL. It's great. I don't have to close the blinds in my room everytime i play in there.
