Yea thats it I cant beat Skieth I dont know what I'm doing wrong most people have said they beat it at Lvl.27 I'm at Lvl.30 and I still cant beat it is there something I'm missing or am I just horrible at this game .

I used Mistral and Blackrose too

Mistral is set at First Aid, BlackRose at Skills, U do the SP and do the attacks and skills...
really not a big deal to beat him...

Ok i've been playing dot hack infection off and on for awhile and was getting tired of getting my butt handed to me by skeith and was looking up strategies and i keep seeing people suggesting having dante's blades or hell's gates but it doesn't say how i'm supposed to get them right now i have kite using masterblades , blackrose using sun fang one, and mistral using adrian's rod. I've bought the 3 games after this and i am anxiously awaiting g.u. any help would be appreciated.

Hell's Gate, the only way I know of getting it (You could find it in a trade, but I don't know) is by throwing Anshou into a higher level midday Spring of Myst.

Bom-ba-ye is another good one, data drain Mu Guardians for it.

Do you have a lot of recovery items? Don't always depend on your Wavemaster to do all the healing for you. I've set Wavemasters on First Aid before, and on more than one occasion they charged forward and cast attack spells after less than a minute or so.

My strategy for pretty much all 8 Phases has been linger back and do a lot of recovery yourself, and let the Wavemaster unleash his or her magical fury on your opponent. Because as I'm sure you know, data drain is a VERY obnoxious attack to be hit by.

I've noticed a handful of queries popping up somewhat recently about in-game difficulties, Skeith, for one, being a repetitive subject. Each are small threads based around a singular question that, once answered, serve no other purpose and drift slowly downward.

My thinking is, questions about the games can be asked here, be they finding an item, beating a boss, etc, anywhere that a player is stuck in //Infection, //Mutation, //Outbreak, or //Quarantine, and more experienced players, myself included, can offer help where it's needed. Additionally to cutting down on the number of tiny help threads, this can also serve as somewhat of an archive, should multiple people want the same answer, (Defeating Skeith, for example...) they can refer back to the answer already given to one who asked before.

Good idea, Lycoris. I'll help you answer any questions, too. I'm a pro, so I should be able to help...lol.

This might sound strange, but when I fight the Phases, I never actually have a "strategy". I just kinda go on instinct. Granted, That plan didn't work at first on Skeith, but I beat him the second time around. Still, Lycoris is right in that you might want your Wavemaster to do the real work, but you could also have your Wavemaster do the healing and your other party member do the work, while you just kinda show moderation between the two.

Myself? I just go in and fight. I don't think about winning or losing. I just think of the battle. Like I said: sounds strange, but it works for me...lol.

okay I got a question then. I'm having a lot of trouble finding a Hell Hound. I know it's a lvl 28 fire element monster but all the places I got to have basicly the same monsters...,Mu Gaurdians and Cursed Blades *shudders* So does anyone have keywords to find a Hell Hound?

Of course. The last field I found one in is Delta: Hideous, Someone's, Giant. Of course, this is a protected area, so if you haven't defeated Skeith, you can't get to it. I'll check around the game, and I'll let you know when I find another area. Lycoris might know some as well.

Monsters are probably the one aspect of .Hack that I have never attempted to seriously keep track of, but I did make a note on finding Hell Hound at Theta: Soft Smiling Fort Walls.

Thanks everyone that helped me. One of those keywords had a lot of Hell Hounds in the dungeon and I finished draining them. Now this rare item hunter only needs 5 more phoenix's wings, which is a lvl 13 blademaster weapon and data drained from a Mystery Rock that can be found at Delta: Hideous, Someone's, Giant.....in case somebody else is looking for it. After I get 5 more phoenix's wings then I can move onto mutation so thanks for all your help everyone

In double-checking myself, I also realized that Lambda also has A, B, and C, in all areas below level 30. In areas ABOVE level 30, however, the Virus Cores available are D, E, and F.

Why, oh, why can I not stay ALIVE in .hack//Infection?! D: I'm on Level 10, and trying to get to the bottom of that dungeon Mia e-mails you about. It says it's a level 7 area, but I keep getting killed.

Any tips? T_T;; Anything would be helpful. I'm just sick of seeing that "Game Over" screen and having to reload my data. T_T;;;

Well, under what circumstances do you keep getting killed?

If it's a lot of status effects, bring more Antidote and Restorative. Give some to your friends, keep some to yourself. Your allies will cure you on the command of 'First Aid!' if they have the abilities or items to do so.

Are you getting outnumbered by enemies? Then try avoiding combat a little more. If it's in the field, Speed Charms are useful. If it's in the dungeon, then use a Fairies' Orb, so you can see what's in each chamber before you enter, and you can take the safer route. Or at least be prepared for what's next.

If it's only brute force, then try leveling up some more. Just because it's labeled as Lv. 7 doesn't strictly mean that you only have to be Lv. 7 to comfortably clear it. I've had to level up much beyond the area level on more than one occasion, myself.

The thing is, I can't bring my party. Mia said to come alone. That's why I keep dying; I'm used to having Mistral and BlackRose with me. TT;; And I keep forgetting to check my own health and heal myself, because I'm used to using the command 'First Aid!' in the beginning, at which point Mistral will heal you throughout the entire battle.

I never carry around antidotes (heh heh), but it's not really that so much as me not taking the time to heal myself.

What gets on my nerves is the enemies (Mushroom King or something, mostly) can cure themselves and all the other monsters. ;-; I hate it.

Tee hee, I'm just unable to function on my own in this game.

Well, first I would probably go train until about level 13, sice you have a hard time watching your health. (take a party) That way you are stronger, and don't have to worry quite as much.

But also, I would recommend pacing yourself. Don't rush it. Take the dungeon one fight at a time.

Also, open EVERYTHING. That way you have a better chance of finding items to heal you. (the only exception being a risky chest and you have no more fortune wires) Break every corpse, destroy every pot. Trust me, it'll help in the long run.

Furthermore, try to carry some equipment that have an elemental advantage over the enemies in the area. If you can post the elements and monsters in the area (because I can't remember...lol) I'll be able to tell you some good stuff to take.

And finally, as I've said before, I have my own little stragety for this game that most don't understand. Just go in and fight. Don't worry about weather you're stronger or weaker or a higher or lower level. Just focus on the fight. Don't worry about winning or losing. Just go for it.

Ah, that one. Well, then, you probably should level up some more to compensate for your allies' absence. I remember I did.

I was terribly spoiled by the party system, myself, so used to having a Wavemaster to back me and a strong weapon character to charge in and be the distraction. ^_-

Tyokae has some good advice there. I think after all this, you should get through it just fine.

Well, the .hack block from Infection on is in four parts, and //G.U will be three.

Go to Lambda server, (If your forgetful of your Greek letters, as even I am from time to time, the root town is Carmina Gadelica) and find an area that is level 30 or higher. Data drain just about any large monster for virus core F.

The field or dungeon doesn't matter too much, though if you're out of luck in the field, go ahead and scout the dungeon. Lots of monsters fit that criteria. If it towers over you, Drain it.

Trust me, this is actually simpler than trying to find one specific monster. You could pass up tons of potentially correct targets looking for one particular one.

Could someone summarize Quarantine's story in less than 200 words for me? I never bought it, and plan on playing GU now.

Which game are you in? Try the highest server you can access, and use the (A) keywords, Chosen or Great. You also might try Expansive, or Boundless, but I can't really vouch for them like the other two.

I know from experience that Chosen and Great result in high-level areas.

got a question about .hack//quarantine, i've been trying the "secret" keywords and they don't seem to be working, just wondering if they took them out of the US version or something or am i not doing something right

"Secret" keywords... *Tries to remember*

What kind of secret keywords? There are quite a few. //Liminality bonuses? Powerup locations? Special weapons?

If it is for one of the above treasures, keep at it. The Gott statue chests are more or less random, (operating within server parameters, of course) and if you don't find what you're looking for, give it another go.

And on mentioning server parameters, make sure you're in the correct server for the keyword in question. If it's on a wrong server, then you will get nothing out of the ordinary from it.

...Of course, this information is all based on the guess that I assumed the correct sort of 'secret' keywords... If I'm completely off base, let me know and I'll try again.

the keywords are "Sickened Imprisoned Fallen Angel", "Confused Fools Hideout", and "Reincarnated Elusive Lyric Poet", supposobily "Sickened Imprisoned Fallen Angel" unlocks "Confused Fools Hideout" keywords and "Confused Fools Hideout" unlocks "Reincarnated Elusive Lyric Poet" keywords there wasnt a specific server mentioned either so i tried each one

To start it off, what do you get exactly for converting previous .hack game data? And how do you apply it to your game? I converted data and started a game, but I think I messed up because nothing seemed to be added.
