The bonus is an email and when u fight Tri-Edge at the end his name will be the name u named kite in the file u converted and when the credits play it will list that name as the character. So its really not that big of a deal unless you've always wanted to see a name u created in the credits of a video game.

In G.U., the convert data option does become a bit of a mystery to most. Along with renaming Azure Flame Kite, it also sends Haseo TWO emails, if you completed all necessary objectives in the original games. The First email is, as stated previously, from BlackRose to Kite asking about how he's doing after Quarantine. The second email (the objectives required to receive this, i don't know, though i DID receive this email) is from Hokuto (from AI Buster) to Rena (Legend of the Twilight, though in early releases they mistranslated to Lena) talking about the life of a translator. Later on, if you received the email from Hokuto, then you will receive a second email from Hokuto intended for Haseo apologizing for sending the previous letter to the wrong person.

Other than that, there's not much else that is altered.

To be completely honest with you, I don't know what I did to get it. And it's understandable that you don't believe me, but to prove it, I am willing to copy both emails into a reply, if you wish for me to do so. All I know is that I got the emails after transfering data from //Quarantine after reviving Mia. I didn't complete the item completion quest or anything.

Anyways, if you would like me to take the time to copy the emails here for you to read, just let me know.

Funny, I revived Mia, found all the //SIGN phantoms, completed the item event, defeated all the goblins in tag... There's a Ryu book or two that I haven't finished yet, though.

I know it's summer vacation for students right now, but how are you doing with preparation for entrance exams? You're into science, right? That's amazing! For a literary major like myself, I just respect anyone that can do math.

So how did your meeting with the guidance counselor go? Personally, I just chose my college because one of the professors here wrote one of my favorite books (this is something I haven't told either to him or my parents). So, in a way, I did have a very specific goal when I came here. Of course, your major is going to be different from mine, so I quess my opinion won't be much help. Sorry!

Still, I don't think there are that many people at all who go to college with a specific goal in mind these days. I think it would be great to figure out what it is you want to do during the four years you're there. In my case, I still don't know what I want to do even after turning the big 3-0. Although, I was still able to become a translator.

While I was in college, I majored in western and Celtic literature. You know, since the previous version of "The World" was built around a Celtic theme, even down to the music, so that's probably why I liked it so much. It's too bad the current "The World" is pretty far removed from its origin's based on Emma Willant's worldly perspective of the "Epitaph of Twilight".

By the way, how's your brother doing? Did he finally give up on basketball and start studying for his entrance exams?

A lot of people used the version upgrade as an opportunity to kick the habit. I don't know what happened to all those former .hackers, but I'm sure they're doing all right. Hey, maybe some of them changed their characters and are still playing. LOL

ok....so i just finished playing the .hack//quarantine and i've done everything in the game....and i mean everything....the final optional dungeon, all the books of ryu are complete, the item collection event, etc.

here's the thing....i am missing one movie on the desktop and i have no idea how to get it. i can't get any more items from the books of ryu. i am missing movie 89. does someone know what that is from?

Anyone know any where to find to pk i havent found many people yet..

I'm at the end of Quarantine, lvl B10 of the last dungeon, and when I go to the last room there's s'posed to be a cutscene before the fight. However, the cutscene isn't playing and I'm stuck running in circles because I can't go forward or leave. Anyone else have this kind of problem, or have any suggestions?

In dot hack quarantine, I am stuck in Screaming Wind Sand's Fate Castle

I have BlackRose and have walked around the dungeon to every place.

The room at the bottom says a cutscene is supposed to be triggered.

However I never see this cutscene.

Is there a way to beat this dungeon?

I have all the virus cores. I always enter that room at the bottom of screaming wind, but nothing happens there. Something falls from the ceiling and that's it, and a random treasure chest. What is the way to beat it?

I finally got past this, the walkthroughs pointed me to OMEGA () server!!

I was on the entirely wrong server the whole time!!! So I quickly changed to the large "E" server, and was able to beat the dungeon.

Quite a valuable lesson!!

But now I can't get to Piros because Kite/Elk says "ewww Piros?!?? I don't want to go there...." every time I try to enter the UNMATCHED WORST ABYSS. "Eww what? I think I heard Piros' voice...."

If your talking about on Rebirth, and if you mean where to find Battle Area's(Where PKers are attacking normal players) then read the unofficial forum on 'The World' until you get the 'Bounty Hunter Test' Quest. Then go to the area and complete the quest(recommended level 9, party of Kuhn and Pi). Once you've completed this you get your Bounty Hunter License as well as the Third Area Word 'Berserker'. If your looking for PK's to hunt, go to area's with Berserker in the name. You usually have to make these yourself.

Also do not go and talk to Dingo(The NPC) in the alley until your minimum level 40, because it will VASTLY ruin the PK experience for you, as you will have to go up against a seemingly level 45 Greedy Cervantes in some Battle Area's until you defeat him. And usually you die. Its enough to make you avoid battle area's.

While playing in an area in G.U. Vol. 1, I came across a doppleganger. I had read about them in the in-game forums, but I didn't think they actually existed in the game. According to the forums, they're really strong, and you should always avoid fighting them. I was wondering if anyone else has seen one in the game, and if so, should I fight it the next time I see one? Thanks in advance!

The only time I'd fight a doppleganger is when your level 50, and you have a level 50 Piros the Third, and a third person of your choice(I find long range third person to be effective) of level 50. Then just try your best to smash the hell out of him. Use your abilities when you can, but also try to save up for around the time you can get a bonus hit. Also it helps to fight him with the use of an offensive lucky animal.
Just a heads up, he heals himself every couple of seconds, and he is much stronger then you. It may take more then one try to take him down. He gives you a key item, although I'll let you find out which one it is for yourself.

I'm suffering right now with the final doungeon of quarantine
It's hard to go to B10 without to have Kite in the red danger state of data drain
witch killed me on B10 >_<

I have just one tactic that drives me crazy because it takes too many time;
To go to that doungeon kill as much as i can when i get to the red state
go out and kill some infected monsters until i get to the blue state
and then go over and over in the doungeon so it would be emptier
so i would survive on the B10.

What tactic did you use?

Hi all! I'm particulary insterested on leveling up my guild, specially because of what Kuhn said about Kestrel and how usefull was having your own area world
So.. Is it possible for any of you to give me a preview on the upgrades I'll be able to buy from Death Grunty? Pm me if necessary to avoid spoilers on the forum =/

Well most of the time the upgrades are increased inventory capacity, and also the option to use certain guild features out in the field, like having access to the storage or being able to use alchemy.

Oh that I got from having a lvl 3 guild.. So the thing about having your own area world.. Is that going to happen with canard?

Own area world? Not sure what you mean by that. Instant access to Canard through the Chaos gate? Not that I know of. It just gets moved from town to town in each game. But I still haven't got to Level 10 for my guild so I don't know what the final upgrade does.

Oh I see.. I meant having your own 3 words to access canard from the chaos gate, yes. Just like Moon Tree and Kestrel..

Guess Im off to play some more... One more thing.. is there an easy way to use magic? The only way I know is to access the menu and use it from the skill tab... I wonder if there's a short key for it..

Not that I know of. I just let the characters handle their own magic most of the time, and for Haseo I only use Skills.

Um, question. I've beaten all the quests/challenges/hidden events in all the games, and the only thing left to do is full my Ryu books. Is it worth it? (I filled it for 1 and 2, not 3)

wait, in the off site, it says that there are 3 castles given to speacial groups. then maybe if the ryu books are filled to the max...

I'm too damn lazy to upgrade the eighth book (About Bikes), otherwise my guild would've been Lv. 8 already. But the rest of books are complete. Or near it.

I entered Vol 3 and maxed out 4 out of 8 books... Without doing a thing. >.>
The Bike one is the only one that I'm going to have issues with. The other 3 will come through finishing up what I have left.

And I didn't even realize you can reach Guild level 8, at all...that's kind of exciting.

The rest of my books are Lv. 8 or 9. My Eigth book is Lv. 3.......

Next Question: Is it worth it leveling up all the characters's skill levels?

Overall: No. You have the main characters that you plan on using while many others will simply sit there...

After retrieving the lvl 3 Arts, I no longer care about their weapon level. For completion purposes I think it's necessary, but for simply completing the main extra stuffs, No, I don't believe it is.

There is an item to increase the skill level more. An accessory material, I believe. Forgot what it's called, but it's sitting in my storage.

The item is called "Guide to Divinity" which you recieve after completeing the FoP. (Or a little earlier in the FoP)

The effect is called "Partial Beauty" which decreases SP consumption by 25% and lets you recieve more skill levels.

And to comment on Skill Levels... I suggest to max them all. It decreases SP consumption of the skill and it'll be for 100% purposes. A good way to do this is by the method I stated in the topic "Avatar Affection and More...". When you finish upgrading the Lost Weapons, Zelkova will e-mail you saying you can exchange Virus Cores for stat increasing items.

You can exchange 5 Virus Cores and recieve a Master's Text, which is a 100 Skill Point Boost item, in other words, an instant Level up in Skill. It's a quick way to raise skill level.

There's an actual synthesis matterial that increases Skill Level faster, as well.

Seed of Divine, or something along those lines. It takes up 3 Slots. I only have one, so I'm going to guess I got it from the Bike missions rather than an area...

Alakid is easy to level in the arena. Fight the Sweepstakes.

Haseo is still 146 and only Zelkova is in the 140s, so really, I don't want to try to take them on. Just to be respectful, I've chosen to take them on when my current party is at Maxed level... (Alkaid and Shino)

I beat them at 145. My party was Pi and Endrance, both of which were 140.

You see, I'm not willing to accept that. They challenged me directly and claimed they were coming at me with all they've got. It would be disrespectful not to do the same, even if I know I'm going to win. It's just a matter of principle.

(I'm well aware it's a game and it doesn't matter, but that doesn't change the personal honor involved.)

I did it for the challenge. At 150 it would be pointless to fight them. (Though I've fought them like 100 times and came up with a way to beat them in like 15 seconds.) Who did you use?
