I love my PS2 but probably won't get the PS3 because of price$$ I don't mind Gamecube but want to know wat will you get first?? I think i'll have a wii.

As always a vast majority is going to end up getting both. Me on the other hand..no thanks for Wii, goodbye Nintendo. I'll wait about a year til I buy PS3 and even if the lowest the price will ever drop is 299, I'll still get it =P.

Well, I have about $600 dollars that I've been saving up as my job as a waiter. It's likely that I won't buy anything overly-expensive for a while. It's also likely that I'll buy the PS3 before the Wii, just beause I'm anticipating so many games for the PS3 like Assassin's Creed .

Well, I'll be getting the PS3 either way. I had planned on getting the Wii as well, but since the majority of the games will apparently focus on using the Wii-mote (which as I've explained several times before just isn't what I'm looking for in gaming), I'll most likely not get it anymore. So for now I can only say with certainty that I'll be getting the PS3.

I'll get the wii as soon as i can but i'll wait until mid 2007 for the ps3. Why? partly because of the ps3 price and partly because I trust that the wii library will be stronger at launch that the one the ps3 will have.

I'm getting a PS3, that's for certain. But I don't know when exactly. I haven't thought about it much. I probabaly won't get it at launch though unless there are some good games like Heavenly Sword and such to convince me.

As for the Wii I'm not sure, but I will probably end up getting it for Smash Brothers at least.

Yeah.....I want a PS3, but due to the cost and my severe distaste for XBox, I'll be getting a Wii first. Hey, I can finally say that in public and not be embarrassed.

By the time you have the PS3, an extra controller, and a game or two you will have spent 800 dollars with tax. I don't think any systme is worth that much and I'm a sony fan. I do think there are some awesome games for the PS3 coming out but I just don't have or think its worth all that money.

I'm going for the Wii. I'm excited with just being able to play old nintendo, SNES, and N64 games. Also Zelda is launching with the system. The Wii will be a totally new gaming experience and developers are going nuts about it.

Since I'm no longer interested in what nintendo haves to offer and I hate X-box to the core so it only leaves the ps3. That system will rule all!

Once more, the price is debatable. It's not my fault you kids don't have jobs and can't create 800 dollars. That's only a little more than a weeks worth of pay for me, so you know, I think the system is worth it and I'm not a Sony Fanboy.

Lol, my dad turned 40 this year, and he is always bringing home new games. My family is full of gamers. My grandma was the biggest gamer, until she died. I remember watching them play all the time when I was like 2 or 3.

I think that either the PS3 launch will be delayed or there will be a great shortage(Sony is having problems producing Blue-Ray devices). I'm waiting for MGS4 so when that hits I hope there will be units available(don't need it at launch). The Wii seems ok, but I'm going to wait until they have it on display so that I can try out the controller before I purchase the system. It seems that many people hate the 360 around here, but it's a really good system. There are quite a few RPGs coming to it and Xbox-live arcade is going to get quite a few new games(they will start releasing a new game every wednesday through out summer). I'm really looking foward to Small Arms because it looks like Smash Brothers with guns.

But on Topic, when I really think about it, I mean sit down and contemplate the question. It comes back with another question, "What games are coming out for it?".
I really don't see anything appealing to me on the PS3 right now; around the time it launches. As for the Wii I do.
Again price can to a deal breaker or not. Many Gamers on the forum are going to wait for a price drop. Some, like TED, can buy it in a couple of paychecks and that's with all the bells and whistles.

I think I'm going to wait until something I find unbelievable to be on the PS3 AND an exclusive. And don't get me wrong that title might be on it's way.....

Ted your right 800 dollars is easy to come by if you have a good job. I just still think its alot of money. Also If we all know Sony's history The first couple batches will have problems. The PS1 would over heat. I remember having to play it upside down. The PS2 had disc read errors. The PSP had dead pixle problems.I hope Sony did there homework this time and doesn't make the mistake a fourth time.

Ps3 in my opion is an overpriced, yet a monstrosity. If it weren't for the cost I would buy a ps3. Since I don't have 800 gp lying around I will be gettiing the wii. Plus I think there is a lot of possibilitys with the wii-mote. I can't wait.

Counting in extra controllers and a few games, the original PS2 would go over 600 as well during release. And most people somehow managed to get that one.

Well I plan on buying the Wii first.

I don't know about European prices, but the PS2 was $300 when it hit America. If anyone ended up paying over $600 on the release that means they must of bought a lot of extras with it, and I am talking about a good $300 worth of extras. I do not think that happened too much at all, especially since the PS2 did not have much to offer during its release.

I am definitely going to get the Wii first over the PS3. Price plays a bit of a factor on that, as well as the fact that I trust that Nintendo's new system will not give me any problems. Also, Super Smash Brothers Brawl has me sold. Since it will have online capability, I know I am going to be spending quite a bit of free time playing that.

Even if the price of the PS3 was lower, I would still wait a year before I would buy it. Sony does not have the best reputation when it comes to their first waves of systems. Even if it means I will have to wait a while longer before I can a few games, I would want to make sure I got PS3 without bugs.

It was released at $550 in Europe. So I guess that would make it 700 with a few games and extra controller.
And back in 2000 the US dollar was a lot stronger than it is today. Buying things for over 450 back then is worth as much as 600 dollars is today.

Anyway, I am still debating, because I want a Wii, but I am not sure how much use it will be to me once all the games I want for it come out, and a PS3 is way too expensive at the moment, so it will probably be the Wii as I am probably going to wait a year or two until price of the PS3 drops (like everyone else).

PS3, definitely. Since it's obviously going to have the most RPGs available for it just like PSX and PS2 before it. I'm usually a one-console gamer as it is. =p
