Okay, not sure what's actually happening with the OGC thing at this very moment, but I'll look into it. But anyways...
On a limb here to maybe start something up. Of course, I don't really have any idea's at the moment which is why I made this topic so we can maybe discuss something fun we can do. Since it is the summer, I'm guessing it should be fun to start up an activity thing where people can just take part without much knowledge of Photoshopping. Maybe even a one day thing... you know, all for just good stuff here.
Whether it's a competition, tournament or some sort, feel free to give some suggestions/ideas or anything.

Start OGC #fourth. Pick a theme and go crazy. Post the winners of the other #OGC in the thread made for it with a link to second place's piece. I didn't start OGC #fourth because I had major time restraints (a job omfg). So yeah.
Theres your solution to OGC, though I doubt I'll have any time to participate until OGC #vth. xD I say stick with OGC at least til we get up to the #sixth one.

Okay?
I don't see how it's so hard to pick a theme Tonnay. =/
But anyways, I also never implied OGC was going to end. I wanted to maybe get something else going instead of just OGC. That is why I made this topic, so people can give in their own suggestions and idea's, I think it beats creating something out of a limb.
Something like a one day tournament with each another or something.

Well, a one day tournament wouldn't work think.
This is what I was thinking. Yes, make a tournament, for example we have 10 that want to participate. You then take those and group them in 2, in a random order. These two, at a selected date, will post two entries.
Let's say much liek those graphics battles we had a few months ago. For example: Natsuki vs Alazuli; Vinsfield vs Apple; Final Fantasist vs Player-zero and JD-san vs Seluna.
Now, each of thse will battle it out with an entry, the theme and size will be up to the one that makes this tournament. Natsuki wins and Apple wins the they go battle each other. Final Fantasist wins and JD-san wins and they go battle each other, and so fort.
Maybe it's too troublesome ^^", but that could give some activity around here =]

A strange idea just popped up in my head.
It's a bit of a 'modify that picture' and fieldpiece. Basically, a picture is provided, then each participant adds one layer to it in the .psd file. Nobody is to touch the layers added by previous participant. And then, at the end, we'll just see how it comes out. ^^;; Kinda like fieldpiece.

I always thought it hard to choose a good theme, especially since you have to be aware of how much bitching will arise from it hahaha. Oh, good times on that lyrical SOTW so many ages ages ago.
FF's idea is very much like an average tournament, which I would have voted for willingly. Those things are fun. (: But they don't span over 1 day, which I doubt anything would, and whoever running it has to be organized and so on. There ought to be a prize for it too, though I don't know what would qualify as "prize" here. Over at 4r there has been two tournies and the prize was a custom member title and some spot in some special event, but dreamers has a fairly low post count for titles so it's just.....not as special.
Unless you guys want to do like, a million tournies and then pit the winners against eachother. But we don't really have enough people to do that.
That collab thing Sel talked about is nice. But so many styles can really clash and even hard to work with. If it sounds workable, go for it.

What you're saying is technically it shouldn't be hard to pick a theme, but people find it hard to define the term of the theme to create something out of it. >.>
But anyways, I really like Seluna's idea, taking into account that people have different styles, but I think it would be very useful since we might be able to learn how others work and do things. The only thing that might come into concern about it, is the different Version of PS we all have.
Fantas's idea is pretty much the straight forward tournament, as Apple did say. We can... have the tournament, but as I mentioned alot... people have to take part and make time for it, just the like the FieldPiece idea. I'm sure we can think of a prize or something... xD
I also don't mind people going ahead with their own GFX battles since we actually haven't had any these past few months.
I like some of the idea's coming in, though.

Hahaha, I say we get a team battle or something going on soon. =p A tournament is a good idea, but doing something "just for the fun of it" isn't an incentive? o_O
Riight.

That's one way to put it. Though I still prefer my way of saying "avoiding the bitching" haha.
Tony; I guess we don't have to offer a prize, but it just seems so much more appealing to do well if there's something driving you. For fun is alright I guesssssss. Me being the wonderfully greedy self that I am, would try harder if there was a prize to fight for.

What kind of prize do you guy's want exactly?
I agree that a prize actually does help a person try harder in their work and whatever, but looking at where we are, what kind of prize do you guy's have in mind that could be possible for me to cook up for you? =/
I'm actually very into having a tournament started up, but the only thing that bothers me about that idea is are you guy's willing to sign up and actually feel interested in taking part in it and not just signing up just for the heck of it.

Prize Hmm... Lol... Post count + 50? lol XP
Well they can make a revival round. Where all those people who lost compete. then the winner of the revival round gets to compete together with the final two as finalists in the "Final ShowDown"
I think there is a need of time limit Lol... We can't wait for everyone for weeks to just summit it =P
Hopefully the Time Limit Reduces and as they compete =P

That's a silly Prize, post count means nothing to alot of people so... making that a prize is not something to value over.
A little confused with what you're trying to say... =/

I'm interested in any tourney. I've spent most of the summer reading up on photoshop, and I've been meaning to apply what I've learned. I don't think we really need a prize, though. For most dreamers, it's the mere "presence," of winning that they compete. We shouldn't have to offer a prize to bribe people into playing. It should just be for fun.

I agree with gemini, but you gotta admint, if there is a prize involved then more people will join xD
Myself, I don't need a prize, I view this tournaments as a way to try out my skils ats photoshoping and getting better by my mistakes. That's the prize for me ^^
