Not much information is known at the moment but an Official family guy game is in development and it seems it will hit multiple platforms. Not much is known about the way the game will play (Action/adventure is quite a broad term), but screenshots seem to reveal a futurama feel and style to them and we all remember the success of THAT game.

IGN says:

March 6, 2006 - Early last year, 2K Games announced it would produce games based on Fox's edgy animated comedy Family Guy, helping the series dance again after its initial demise. Now that Peter, Brian, Stewie, and the rest are jigging happily in prime time, 2K is talking Family again -- this time revealing new details.

Created in agreement with Twentieth Century Fox, the Family Guy videogames are set to reach current-generation consoles this fall. High Voltage Software (Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude) is working with Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane to put players in the roles of Peter Griffin, his martini-loving canine Brian, and darkly precocious brat Stewie.

"The irreverent and satirical humor from Family Guy that has made the show a smash hit opens up exciting and untapped possibilities in game development," said 2K Games' Christoph Hartmann. "We are looking forward to bringing the colorful Family Guy characters to life in a one-of-a-kind action/adventure style game."

Edit: Apparently, it's coming out this October (NTSC) and September (PAL)

Dunno, it might turn out to be fun. But Family Guy as a game? I prefer the comedy of course, so I don't know what pleasure I'll get from controlling the characters.

Well, it was bound to happen sometime. What I dont understand is why they do so much for the series now that it seems to be dying out.

Yeah, I'm sure this game is going to be every bit as great as Leasuire Suit Larry and other games based on mature cartoon series' like the Simpsons before it.

It'll be total garbage... It's just cashing in on the popularity of the show at the moment, I highly doubt it's going to be worth anything more than a possible rental.

It really dosen't look that good, from the screen shots I mean. Not to mention what would the story of the game be? Also, what engine will it use? It kinda looks like GTA but more "cartoony" . Who knows it might be worth it, if it's cheap....

It's probably a copy of the simpsons hit and run game, which was a pretty good rental I guess, but not worth buying.

It'll be worth the humor, just like the Futurama game, but not much else.

I imagine there will just be annoying voiceover of the character your controlling saying the same 5 or 6 jokes over and over again. The thing that scares me the most about the game is that it's in production, if not already completed.

I tried to look up more information about the game but all I found was this...

Sadly this has nothing to do with the console game, but seems a much better game in comparison... If you love family guy, I'd suggest this would do you better.

This'll be exactly like all those Simpsons games that are so terrible and annoying. Popular cartoons such as Family Guy and Simpsons shouldn't make games, they turn out to be a bore and use the same jokes. Anyone know Simpsons wrestling? Terrible.

Ive never played the Futurama game to be honest i could see them making Family Guy into a video game although i dont know how good its going to turn out.
