Silly topic ahead; just wondering since the game offers you the opportunity to change your on-screen character, which ones have you used (if you change it at all)? And to keep this non-spammy, do give the reason why you've used them. Even if it's just because "Shion shakes her hips while running" (first thing my mother said when she passed by and saw XSI Shion running around on the screen xP ).

In XSI, I didn't really bother with it. I changed to chaos for a while at some point because I liked his character, but as the story progressed I switched back to Shion soon enough as she seemed to be the main focus.

I changed to MOMO once in Cathedral Ship and Song of Nephilim, because I knew there were hidden items that would only show up with her as the lead character, so I ran around using MOMO in those places until I found those items, but then I switched back to Shion again.

But in XSII, I've changed the lead character several times. Whenever I was doing GS Campaign Missions, I'd switch to chaos because he's supposed to be the "nice guy" who helps everyone out =p . In most of the high-tech dungeons I'd use KOS-MOS just because she blends in with the environment.

Oddly I never used Rubedo, even though the Yuriev Institute would have been a good place to do so (maybe next time). And for some reason, I used Jin in all of the optional dungeons. I think I just did so because he was my strongest character and the optional dungeons offer some good challenges (hence I made my strongest character the leader of the team).

Uhm... yup, that's all of mine. ^^

Well... it seems chaos is nice to everyone except one of the robots on the Elsa... I wonder what that is all about...

Anyway, I havn't played XSI yet so I can't comment there... but in XS2 I swap around a lot. However, I usually only use MOMO, Chaos and KOS-MOS (As they are my main party along with Ziggy) but I really don't mind or take too much notice. However, the only two characters I won't use are Jin and Ziggy... I'm not sure why Jin... I think it's the flash of his bare leg as he runs about but Ziggy's animations is quite blocky and he makes an annoying 'clunk' noise as he runs that drives me crazy.

I think more should have been made from the being able to change characters thing but it's only important for a couple of the GS campaigns. Then again, I guess if it did become more important to swap around characters then it could get quite annoying.

In Episode 1, I mostly used Shion, except for the times when a different character seemed more appropriate. IE: Song of Nephilim, Jr.

In Episode 2, it's whoever I felt like. For the Factory dungeon, I used chaos, Shion and Ziggy, since I switched my party around. Ormus Stronghold I kept Jin because I wanted to train him, and I just like him. UMN control center, using Ziggy, you can see how cruel some people are to Cyborgs, though. Except for this one weird girl who kept saying that she loved Ziggy's body.

Used Jr. in Yuriev institute, as well as Omega System.

Aside from the Factory, the rest of the optional dungeons I don't really remember, though... Usually Jin or Ziggy.

Never really cared to use MOMO in the 1st game until my recent playthrough, and lately, I've simply despised her tendency to show up as a blank Realian and STILL TALK AND TAUNT THE ENEMY >_<.

I use Rubedo/Jr. all the time i can. Whenever he wasnt in the party i would use Shion i guess but as long as i could i would use Rubedo as he is my favourite character.

Heh, in both Episode 1 and 2, I used chaos pretty much at any point where you were able to. When he wasn't availible, I'd use KOS-MOS or JR. Although, I would alter the onscreen characters from time to time to see their different reactions, like in Episode 1 at the Dock Colony where you can view the characters health stats. haha.gif But the reason I used chaos all the time....man from the moment I saw his pic for the first time, he struck me as an interesting character. And since then, he's been my absolute favorite. So, of course he's my onscreen character. tongue.gif

Well, I tend to switch between using different lead characters, tipically in both games. In XS1 and XS2, I used chaos a lot... he was just cool that way, Jr and KOS-MOS was one my favorites to lead too. If I got bored of either 3 of them, I might use MOMO or Shion. For some reason I didn't like Shion that much even though she was a main character.

In XS2, each character had a unique shooting ability outside of combat, KOS-MOS was my all time favorite lead character. I never used Ziggy much to lead in either XS, well, he seems to run really slow (even though his speed is the same as the other guys)... i dunno, maybe its because his metal apearance and how he runs with it, made me annoyed.

Ironically enough, I've never liked Shion much. I don't know why. So it was always painful to have her onscreen. haha.gif But yeah, the various Destruction abilities were neat. I liked JR's and chaos' the best. tongue.gif Their's really suited their characters. JR. and his "Whohoo!" laugh.gif Funny. And chaos' "Ashes to ashes" and "Break these chains that bind us." Yeah, it all works nicely.

I'm actually not too fond of chaos' quotes, mainly because his Episode II voice annoys me. I still think his voice actor exaggerates that deep voice. Hence I only used chaos when doing those GS Campaign missions, I first used him randomly too but his overly deep voice bugged me a little too much...

If I recall (been a while since I last saw the exact event) the robot just says chaos is being mean because he bugged it about those flower seeds, as it seems he'd like to have those for himself. The robot said it wanted to grow flowers with it, and give them to KOS-MOS... chaos probably wants to do the same. ;-)

Really? I thought the voice suited his character. It was too feminine in the first, so hearing it so deep was a shock, but I think it was a good call. His actor in the second one is Joshua Seth BTW and Derik Stephen Prince in the first.
Xerno
My problem with Joshua Seth's voicing of chaos is that he puts too much focus on making the voice sound so deep, and doesn't put any real emotion in the voice. Which I think makes him sound really dull. On the other hand, in Episode I he sounds a little too happy. But I still prefer that over no emotion at all.

Though Rubedo is voiced by a woman (Brianne Siddall), yet doesn't sound feminine and has plenty of emotion in his voice. It makes chaos' voice pale in comparison, if you ask me.

On another note, I think I already know who I'll be using often on-screen in Episode III; Jin Uzuki, simply because he looks so much like Citan Uzuki from Xenogears now. Ah, nostalgia. =p
chaos768
Yeah, his voice did kind of lack emotion. But, it kinda suits his character. Even in the first, although he always had somewhat of a happy sound, there was always alot of malancholy in his voice. And the games repeatedly hint to a pain and turmoil within him. So I think the deep, melancholy voice suits him.

But I'd agree with Rubedo's voice. Brianne Siddall is a really good voice actor. She played Mithos' in Tales of Symphonia. Young Mithos that is. James Arnold Taylor, the same guy that did Tidus' voice in Final Fantasy X, did Mithos Yggdrasills voice. Yes, I'm very versed in voice actors. haha.gif

I actually liked Yeshua's voice in the second game better as well. I agree that it has less emotion, but I was not a fan of his voice actor in the first game. Yes, I have also heard the voice actor for Rubedo in games such as ToS. I think I once heard her voice in an english dubbed japanese film as a little kid.

Yeah, I was ok with his voice in the first, but sometimes it was distracting. laugh.gif

There's a good chance of that. She normally voices young boys.
Tidyun
I always used Kos-Mos whenever she was avilable for use
