how do you get rabbit meat and hides

Hare meat and rabbit hides drop from rabbits, but rabbit hides have plunged down to 2k a stack on my server and hare meat staggers around 5-6k. No point in farming for something so insignificant. You could farm crystals faster than those and get more than enough for both of these items.
But... why would you need both? ?.?
