Today I was playing some Smash with a friend. (Marth vs. Peach on Final Destination, no items.)
I started off by killing him once, so he lost one of his 3 stock. Then immediately after that, while his HP was still 0% or close to it, I Meteored him right off the edge with Marth's Down + A (Air).
Now as he regenerated, we hit eachother a few times, but the phone rang so we paused the game. He jumped up into the air as I paused, and started talking on the phone.
While he was talking, I was zooming in and out and switching perspective, playing with the buttons. He talked for about 2 - 3 mins, then we un paused the game at the count of three. (As we usually do)
The first thing that happened was him saying "How did YOU die?"
And I looked at my stock, and I saw that I now had 0% and only one stock left. He now had 2 stock left, and was around 60%.
Has something like this happened to anyone else? I tried to repeat it the next time we paused the game for a bit, but it didn't work.

Okay, that is really weird. The game screwed you over. I had never such a thing happen to me.
I heard about the usual stories, such as Fox falling through Seal (Pokefloats), Marth falling through Brinstar Depths and Samus falling through, but never really lives and such gettind lost during pause.

Wow, that IS weird. Never has such a thing even come CLOSE to happening to me. You sure you just died well look away from the screen? Maybe you just didn't notice it before you paused. But if so, then SSBM sure has some weird glitches.

I'm sure it's possible that you trigged some kind of glitch or other, but I've never read an glitch FAQs on the game or heard any mention of glitches that are probable to pull off over and over again. While I'm sure a glitch like this is very possible in the game, repeating the event may not be something you can find yourself doing.
Never had any problems with glitches in the game myself though.

I think this happened once quite a long time ago, not too sure.
Me and my brother were playing a round with set cpu player's aswell, paused it for a few minutes because of our dad calling us or some other. When we resumed back into the game, can't remember who, but one of us lost a life, we didn't think much of it since it was a pretty chaotic battle at the time so we carried on.
Probably just a one off glitch or you actually died... no idea. But I'm sure it doesn't happen all that often so no worries, right? xP

This may be another glitch, but I'm not sure.
It was a while ago so I don't remember all the details, but we were playing on Final Destination and as I landed on the ground (I think I was knocked out) I did a recovery roll just as I landed. But the weird thing was that I rolled about 3/4 of the stage. It looked very strange.

That happens alot more. It is when you have such a heavy smash, but at the same time are low to the ground, so that you do your groundtech (instant recovery roll) and you will roll across the stage, due to the effect of the smash you got earlier. Sometimes if you are near the edge, you'll fly of the stage aswell.
An easy trick to test this out is picking a Game & Watch and a Samus or a Ness and fill G&W's bucket with 3 PK Flash/Charge Shot and then have Ness/Samus guard. When their shield is low, unleash G&W's bucket and he is send of flying.
It is not the same as you got, but you get the idea. Same with holding JP's shield, untill it breaks and JP is send flying.

black hole glitch FTW.
And what would that be?
And try to keep the one liners to a minimum please, especially when it requires an explanation.

Type in Black Hole glitch on youtube, along with ssbm or something alike and there should be some videos showing what it is.
It is a glitch where you activate the infinite super scope glitch, along with the shields of Fox and a Falco, so that the bullets keep reflecting, then have Peach throw in some turnips, so that the turnips 'hang' between the bullets, throw in some more and then you'll have a green blob of infinite bullets + turnips. Looks like a warphole or something alike it and if you jump in it, it will deal massive damage.

A new glitch happened today, and it looked really funny.
It was on Final Destination. My friend got headbutted by the pokemon Porygon, (a.k.a. Scull Duck) and he was standing on the far right of the stage, but was sent flying in the opposite direction towards the other edge, as usually happens with this Pokemon.
Anyway he landed exactly on the edge on the other side of the stage and did a recovery roll, but right when the rolling animation was over he started flying out of the stage at great speed, as if he was hit twice in a row, or flew twice the distance, but with a roll inbetween.
It looked really funny when it happend, because he was flying so fast and far. We dropped the controllers laughing.

Yah, I know this one aswell, dunno if it is really a glitch or not, but when you get blown at high speed towards the edge and then do a tech roll and get up you will get 'pushed' backwards and blown off the stage. It does look weird indeed.
