Sorry if this was already posted. I didn't see it on any of the previous pages. And this board is so dead so.

Anyway, out of the four (I say 4 because I'm including Xenosaga 1+2 for the DS), what are your favorite character designs? They've altered them every time, so what do you guys think is the best ones? Be it individual or if you prefer one games entire cast revamp.

For me, it's a mix of the games.

For Shion, my favorite is her original design. Her look in the third is nice, but I still like her 1 game design better.

KOS-MOS, I'm very partial to her 1st game design, but I like her look in the third. It's a tie between the two.

chaos, I like all his designs, but I think his design from the third is my favorite.

For Ziggy....he pretty much looks the same in all the games. But his look in the DS version is nice.

Jin, by a landslide his Episode 3 look.

JR., Episode 2 all the way.

MOMO, eh'...I never thought they really did a great job with her.....but probably her episode 2 look.

My picks are exactly the same ones you mentioned actually.

Mine is a mixed bag too. Uhm, let's see...

Shion ~ Episode I; Yup, her original look fits her best imo. In the newer ones she doesn't seem as "geeky" as she's supposed to be. =p
But from what I've seen her Epi. 3 look > Epi. 2 look, by far. I've never liked her Episode II design very much.

KOS-MOS ~ Episode III; All her looks are fine, but I prefer the more realistic yet still somewhat anime-like look of Epi. 3 most, which I'll almost always like more than a full anime look.

chaos ~ Episode III; Uhm, I used to like his Epi. 1 design, but when looking back at it now I no longer do. He just looks weird, and his skin color appears to be more dark orange than anything <<'' . I highly dislike his Epi. 2 design, it just looks so... bland. His Epi. 3 design looks like his best one to me now, but in fact I think he looks best in the concept art. xD

Rubedo ~ Episode II/III; I seriously dislike his Epi. 1 design, what's with those exaggerated out-of-proportion anime cheeks? He looks like some sort of froggie! His Epi. 2 design is nice, as well as in Epi. 3. But to decide wether I like his Epi. 2 or 3 design more I'd have to get a better look at how he appears live in Episode III first. xP

Ziggy ~ Episode I/II/III; He pretty much looks the same in all 3 episodes.

Jin ~ Episode III; He got revamped to look almost identical to Citan from Xenogears. That about says it all.

MOMO ~ Episode II/III; Another one whos Epi. 1 design I dislike a lot, also due to her overdone out-of-proportion anime design. She looks mostly the same in Epi. 2 and 3, only her hair seems to be more curly in Epi. 3. The Episode III design seems to be slightly better, but again I'd have to see what it's like in-game before I can tell for sure.

As you can probably tell, I'm not too fond of the so-called anime design. =p

Ziggy remains the same throughout the whole series. I love the mature look Shion has going on in Episode II, same with KOS-MOS. Chaos from EpI all the way, this includes the voice actor. MOMO from epI, IMO she should not "grow up". You know keep the whole [insert someone we all know here] memory alive and crap. Jr pretty much stays the same too(since he doesn't age) so the designers left him as is.


Me either cause the characters look like crap. Amateur drawer FTW >_>.

Shion - Episode 3 because she gets more variety in it. She gets like 5 costumes in that one (Scientia, U-TIC infiltration suit, "White Shirt", Vector Uniform, and normal one).

chaos - Episode 3. His other designs sucked. Episode 3 hits the nail on the head though.

Jr. - all of his designs are great, in my opinion. Though I liked his Episode 2 one best. No coat in Episode 3? Bastards.

Ziggy - although he remains mostly the same, his lips and eyes change from Episode 1 and Episode 2. His best artwork was in Episode 3 though. Plus his swimsuit .

MOMO - Episode 3 by a couple of hundred thousand kajillion miles. Her other designs made her look terrible, with all the panty shots, or the stupid looking shorts-ish sort of thing she wears. Plus she was kind of ugly in Episode 1 and 2, and in 3 they've got her perfectly.

Jin - Episode 1 made him rather ugly with their deformations, Episode 2's design was boring, so Episode 3 is really the best one.

KOS MOS - is it alright if I say Archetype? No? That's more T-Elos anyway. Episode 1 or Episode 3. Missing Year design was like she was wearing a one piece swimsuit. Episode design was boring. Episode 1 had a nice one, and both Episode 3's costumes look nice too.

Miyuki's Scientia uniform rocks, also.

I don't really see the difference between Scientia and Vector uniforms and I think Vector uniforms are boring and plain.

shion- probably her episode III with the vector or scientia uniform, the way she was meant to look.

chaos- episode III, generally, I like the episode III designs of everyone better and chaos is one of them

jr.- probably 2, not sure about his 3rd design yet, his coat better be there, its part of his character.

Ziggy- he always looks the same, doesnt really matter as long as he doesnt have a swimsuit

MOMO- definitely episode III, her episode I design was way too anime infulenced, and I didnt really like episode II designs

Jin- Like Xerno, with him looking almost exactly like Citan, he will probably be one of my favorites (I really didnt like his costume in the first two)

KOS-MOS- definitely III, then I, and II imo just sucked, it made her look horrible in my opinion.

Miyuki- never really cared about her, probably the 3rd game though.

Shion - Episode I... I think she looks good in her scientia uniform in XS3 but I liked her geeky look in Episode I... she looks the least likey heroine and that appeals to me for some reason.

KOS-MOS - I liked episode I but her Episode III designs are maybe just a bit better. Her Episode II design is cool in theory (Being able to see the energy-type stuff run through her and making her pratically see-through SOUNDS cool) but it just annoyed me eventually.

chaos - I've liked all the designs (though I found Episode II to be too plain) but by far Episode III is the best. It's nice to see the return of the random strand of hair on the top. Definatly the best design so far.

MOMO - Again, Episode III has made her actually look good. She's too anime in episode I and her costume was a little too boring in episode II.

Ziggy - There is a difference? As long as he isn't wearing the swimsuit I don't care *shudders*

Jr - I like his facial proportions in Episode III but his Episide II clothes looked the best. EPI was just a eye-sore.

Jin - I hated his costume in Episode II, but he is finally looking uberly cool in EPIII... I can't wait to use him this time around.

Ahh, it's been a while since I came to this forum.... well, since Ep. II is coming out in less than a week I thought I'd drop by to see if there are any interesting convos.
Well for me it goes like this.
Shion= 2nd and 3rd
Kos-Mos= 1st and 3rd
Ziggy=same....
MOMO= I never unlocked all her outfits in the first so she was very plain. I like her 2nd and 3rd.
Jr.=I don't really see any diff.
Chaos=3rd because his previous ones look very femine ( XD can't spell!)
Jin=
