The Nintendo camp has decided to take a chance and gamble. Apparently, Ninty has made some major changes to the control scheme of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Wii. According to producer Shigeru Miyamoto, the game will now have room for players to swing the controller for sword slashes, before the B button is the one to press if you want Link to swing his sword, but Miyamoto added that "upon actually playing it, it's more interesting this way". The producer is of course referring to the controller-swinging action.
Aside from that, they also made some modifications to the game's bow and arrow controls. A sort of exchange occurred - if before, players aimed with the Wiimote, then shoot using the D-pad, now that the B button is free, Nintendo has moved it to the B button. Miyamoto felt that that shooting the arrow with the D-pad was tedious, and the B button allows for quicker and easier shooting.
There has been no word if future players will be able to choose between different methods of control.

So there is going to be a Gamecube version?
I wonder, if you suddenly have to put down the controller, will you swing the sword around and behead youself by accident?

Yes, there is a Gamecube version. Pay attention, Aussy.
Maybe that happens, Dart, or maybe not. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it doesn't. Though, I would actually like to see how it does work, since this is the first we've heard of it.
Why is this is Nintendo and not Zelda forum?

More changes? Haven't they ever heard of the phrase "The straw that broke the camels back"? Or "The brush stroke that ruined the masterpiece"? Honestly, I think they need to stop messing around with it. Trying all these things to improve it may end up working against them. And then there's going to be some seriously angry fans.

Why is everybody fearing change?
Change is good. Otherwise it's all the same. Unless we forgot, Zelda was the first to use single button targeting, now it's widely used. Maybe this will follow suite?

How would there be a lot of angry fans about the change if the original control scheme is never even going to be in the final version of TP when it's released? Other than people who might have played it at E3 or some other gameshow, no one except Nintendo have played with the original controls. If they think there is a good reason for change, it is not too late to do so.
