So, I have been thinking about the testaments again. They are a very mysterious bunch, but then I thought about episode II's ending where Albedo "dies" and says to Rubedo "Look, I'm Free" and whatnot, So I wondered why Albedo would become a Testament if he wanted to be free so badly. But anyway, then I thought about Voyager and how the whole reason he was a Testament was because of U-DO making him do stuff. So I thought, hey, wait a minute, Albedo and Voyager are both Testaments, and the thing they both have in common is that they both had some interaction with U-DO. Then I remembered the ending of Episode I where Wilhelm says that it was a shame to relegate Albedo to such a minor role, and he told, I think Kevin, that Albedo would not come into contact with U-DO because he is not that powerful. So I had the Idea that the Testaments have something to do with interacting with U-DO. Please post thoughts on this idea, and if you know stuff about Episode III, please try not to ruin anything, and if you think you might ruin something, just dont post it. This would be greatly appreciated.

Before I start to think about that, didnt Albedo already came in contact with UDO, in the flashback on EP1 where Negrido is down and Rubedo carries him and Albedo goes nuts, wasnt that U-DO?

On the surface I think that's logical. But I think of JR. He was in contact with U-DO on multiple occasions. So, i'm still rather confused behind how they came to be who they are.

I used to wonder about this myself, but I think he might have meant being "free" in a different way. And since I've said this before (and I'm currently too lazy to type it all out again xP ), I'll just quote myself:
QUOTE (Me)
At first I just thought that Albedo wanted Rubedo to kill him so that he could finally die, be freed from his immortality and rest in peace. But now I think Albedo wasn't aiming to die and be set free in that sense, but rather the only way to become a Testament is to die first. And Rubedo was the only one who could end his life for him.
So basically, he had to be "free" to become a Testament. Though then the question still remains; for what purpose did he want to become a Testament? I don't think it's just because of their overwhelming power, he probably has a certain goal in mind. And in a few days we'll know for sure. =p

Albedo's role in Episode 3 is so... minimal.
The other Testaments get more screen time, thankfully, Albedo's got more than all of the put together in the other games, anyway.

I think that the story originally had someone else being the white testament, but because of alterations, a new candidate was never introduced and they had little choice but to make Albedo a Testament. I kind of wish they didnt though because I liked the ending to Episode II. And to answer chaos768's question, while Rubedo did come into contact with U-DO, he is still alive, so he can't be a Testament.

Nah, I seriously doubt someone else was supposed to be the White Testament. Albedo becoming one already fits in with events from Episode I, so I'm quite sure this was planned to happen. I'd rather say that perhaps the altered Episode II made the possibility seem somewhat awkward, but it appears Albedo has yet another goal in mind.
Actually, most of the Testaments appear to have their own goals. It almost seems odd that they stay so loyal to Wilhelm, because I'm not so sure if they really share Wilhelm's plans. But Wilhelm probably just has the upper hand. But he'll reveal his wicked plans soon enough. =p
