Lately, while searching for something to use in this graphix tournament, I've been finding a lot of these so called C4D pieces of art. I'm kind of interested in the way they look and was wondering what exactly are they? Is it a 3D piece of art, or not? And, if anybody has any of these types of pieces, could you possibly show me them, so I can know what to look for?

Cinema4D is the program to make 3D art, though I think C4D is more based on modeling than programs like 3DS Max. (3DS Max = teh abstract stuff you usually see.)
Technically, they're not 3D they just give the illusion of being 3D. (LOLOLOL, sorry I had to say that. Foucault ftw!) But yeah, digitally they'd be 3D art. Are you interested in Modeling or the Abstract stuff?

I'm mainly interested in the abstract art cause it's the only thing I know how to create. As for the Modeling, would that be more on the lines of the kind of stuff your usually creating?

Nooo, I don't model. I actually don't have either program and I don't really like making abstract stuff.
BTW, I could have the programs mixed up. D: I remember this guy saying either 3DSMax or C4D was better for modeling but I can't rememberrr.
Well, here's what modeling basically looks like.

And....abstract stuff.

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of the abstract work hahaha.

Ahh, ok. I see what you mean now. Yea, the abstract stuff is what I like. The modeling just looks so plain to me. Is that whats its suppose to look like? There's nothing going on.

Well....if you're modeling you CAN take it all crazy and whatnot. I'm sure his intent was to show what a modern interior design looks like with the really sleek flow and geometric shapes. It's actually one of the best modeling jobs I've seen, just because I would kill to have that as my living room hahahaha.
But yeah...the abstract stuff can be made with either 3DSMax or C4D, and usually is accompanied by brushing in photoshop. (I personally dislike it, it's very overwhored for something that doesn't express anything.)

Ohh. I didn't think about that at first, but it makes since now.
(sorry for getting off topic here)
As for the whole abstract thing, yea, I'm beginning to believe it is a bit over done now that I've seen the mass majority of sites that are made to help those who enjoin it. I guess it wouldn't hurt to seperate myself from the majority to learn a new style. Just not sure where to begin, though the advertising style looks pretty interesting. =/
