I don't see a topic for this so...

Well I know this movie is old now in the US, but it just had its opening over here tonight.
One of my friends had it on DVD (probably pirated) for a while, but I avoided seeing it. I promised *insert name* we'd go see this one months ago. But I heard from someone that it wasn't any good, so it made it harder for me to look forward to going out and seeing it rather than just watch the DVD. But we went to see it anyway, and I thought it was really good. I didn't expect the story to be only partially comedy, and then so sad during the last half.

I loved the comedy. Everything from the stuffed duck to David Hasselhoff was ace. Though I didn't expect them to do so well with the sad theme of the movie. Pretty much the whole audience was choked up during some of those scenes, including me I must admit. Especially that part with his dad and the coin was really sad. And his daughter remembering his promise about living to be 200.

So what are you guys thoughts on it?

I really liked this movie, went to watch it with my best friend. It did make me think about my future, and not to take family for granted. I actually didn't expect it to turn out the way it did, I was just expecting a generic comedy, but I must admit it was really well made =)

The duck parts owned though XD

Havent seen it yet but want to because i am a movie nut and always enjoy a movie even though we have all seen Sandler's anthics a million times before. We have been through Sandler's loser stage and now his grown up stage. Might be good for a laugh or two.

It seems like a movie i would like to watch just for the hell of it. I might be suprised with Sandler like when i saw Punch Drunk Love, but you can blame Paul Thomas Anderson and me being quite a big fan of his work, and the appearance of Phillip Seymour Hoffman who basically can show up for 5 minutes in a movie and make my day.

Anyway, if i get a chance I'll give it whirl, even if its just to watch the scene where he slows down time to see the busty chick run and bounce and watch Kate Beckinsale in a movie which its always a joy.

I saw this constantly being advertised when I was over in America in July but I wasn't quite sure what to make of it. It looked like it has some funny bits, but Sandler is a bit of a hit or miss for me. Sometimes he can be hillerious but a lot of that time I can't quite understand why he is so big. The whole idea of adding some rubbish moral to the story also put me off quite a bit.

Then again, the Hoffmeister is in the film so it's probably worth watching.

this movie actually suprised me. It was a good comedy with an overal good story and good moral point to it. I highly suggest it for anyone looking for just a good solid movie with a good side of comedy.

At the beginning of the movie i found it too cheesy for my taste but after watching into the sadder and more touching parts it got better. it was a real tear jerker and was executed really well. the message was great and the comedic parts (some of them) were hilarious, while others were just blink and stare moments. i hadnt expected the movie to be as serious as it turned out to be, but i stand corrected.
