There was a rumour about a £149.99 Wii, but I guess that turned out to be false... £179.99 is still a good price though...I guess. It's the same as the 360 core.

Oh yeah, just like the US Wii, Wii Sports is included.
More as, and if, it develops!

As expected. But I'm wondering about one thing. That "Nunchaku" thing, is that the part of the controller that has the analog pad on it?
Why the heck is that thing sold separately from the Wiimote?

The nunchaku is the part with the analogue stick; it's being sold sepertate cause only around half of Wii games use it.

Seriously?
So do any of these games not make use of the analog?
Metroid Prime 3
Mario Galaxy
Zelda
Smash Brothers
Sonic
They all use it right? And they're the most popular games...
I think that's a pretty lame reason not to include the analog.
So it's 60 Euro for an extra Smash Brothers controller.

Sonic doesnt use it, no.
Smash Bros Brawl is gonna use either Gamecube pads or the Classic controller, not the WiiRemote/Nunchaku combo.
You get one (nunchaku) included in the box with the Wii, and those are all one player games (other than brawl) so...whats the deal?
Pretty much all the Touch Generation titles (things like Pheonix Wright, Cooking Mama, Brain Training, Nintendogs) will only use the Wii Remote.
I'm not going to defend the price; $60 is way to much to pay for a controller, but I can see why they split it up.

Well this is just the launch. Games like Dynasty Warriors and other titles where you need to thoroughly move the characters around will need the analog stick. I dunno, I don't see the need to split them up like that, just because they can.
Not all games used the D-pad or the right analog stick, but they're not sold separately for that.
A controller should have all functions available, even though all games don't make use of them. I mean it's not like an eye-toy camera or Buzz buzzer where only 0,001% of the games will use it.
Oh yeah I forgot that Smash is using the GC controller. (I'm sick, my brain works slowly.)

This is true, but none of them controllers had expansion slots, more than just the analogue stick can be attached to the Wii Remote...in the future.
I get what you're saying here, but, there will be just as many games that use only the Wii Remote as those that use both the Remote and Nunchaku. Non gamers especially will be picking up these touch gen titles that dont require a nunchaku.
If they was packaged together, you'd be forced to pay an extra $20 for something you dont need. Some people might own Wiis with only these touch generation games. This way you get a choice.

Well most likely if there are games that are multiplayer and requires the nunchaku they will probably include one free with the game or something like the gba-gc link up cable. Not very likely that someone will purchase it seperately.
Anyways 8th December! Yay! I'll be able to play it through the Christmas holidays!
