Shows you some of the hardware features of the console. Good to know it will be using SD cards like the PS3. (Does X360 use them too?)
But one thing that occured to me was how easy the console might fall over if you play using GC controllers. It didn't look very stable standing up like that, so I'll probably have it laying down for Smash Brothers.

The controllers aren't wireless?

The Gamecube controllers aren't.
There are four ports for GC controllers on top.

Ha, somebody is dislexic i guess.

Anyway, we finally got to see where everything is located I guess. I didnt see any other conectors so i can only assume the VR/classic controller has a GC esque plug to the console. Honestly I think its kinda weird to put the ports on top but given the size of the console i think there wasnt really other place to put them. I do like how everything is hidden inside flaps and compartments, kinda cool.

About the SD cards, I just want them to show what cards are supported including type (mini or whatever) and capacity.

I'll answer your queries, Raz.

The Classic Controller connects to the bottom of the Wii Remote, so it is kinda wireless.

I'm almost 100% sure that Wavebirds work with the Wii without using that dongle thing you use with the Cube. Almost 100%, so dont quote me on it. laugh.gif So no worries of the the Wii toppling over if you use 4 of those bad boys.

The Wii can use ANY SD card, up to any capacity; it also take micro/mini SD cards when using an adaptor [which most micro/mini SD cards come with].

Dont worry, SD cards are cheap as chips and game saves wont use up much room, neither will most of the VC games; N64 titles peaked at around 256Mb in size (RE:2) but the other consoles ROM sizes are tiny (less than 2mb).

Hope that helped? wink.gif

Raz here's a visual.

And here's the box in case anyone hasn't seen it yet.

Wavebirds would be more suited for the Wii. Unfortunitely I don't know anyone who has them. But I guess when I buy the GC version of Zelda I might pick up a Wavebird as well.
But unless we have at least 4 of them... what's the point. I know someone is going to trip the console now and then. Need to convice them to get wavebirds, which might be hard.
The Hero of Time
Wavebirds shouldnt be that much these days..if you can find them.

Anyhow, I dont see cables being any more/less of a pain than usual. Maybe you console will topple over, but you take that risk storing your PS2 virtical. blink.gif Nothing to get concerned about, Nintendo stuff is almost unbreakable anyway. laugh.gif

Oh yeah, the 360 doesnt have any card slots, but you can use a USB card reader.

It's funny, after everything Nintendo said about Wii being a gaming machine, its more of a multimedia centre than the 360. laugh.gif

Well regarding the PS2 standing up, the controller wires are longer than the ones for GC, and 4 controllers pretty much always gets tangled up for us before we get everything set for playing. Now that the ports are on top of the console, the length of the cable gets even shorter than normal. So I'd worry about knocking it over with some of the gorillas I play Smash with.

Not worried that the console will break. It looks durable. But I'm worried that if it knocks over the game will get scratched by the lens.
The Hero of Time
This is true, I guess you just have to store it horizontaly when smashing, or even sideways so the ports are at the front.

Though, unlike the PS2 and 360, the Wii is deeper than it is wide, should be less likely to topple over, even with the ports on the top (that stand looks pretty solid).

Personally I'd still store it flat for those kind of games though, for the reason you said about the disc.
Mr. Wonderful
The wavebirds use batteries.

I'l stick to the original controller for now.

Does anyone know about the new Mii channel function? I didn't watch the walkthrough. But your able to create an avater or picture of you. Save in on your Wiimote and play as your avatar in Wii sports and such.

This is why you saw Shigeru Miyamoto play Tennis with his actual face.
