It seems a few names have popped up for the Prince of Falena.
I was reading some information on Wikipedia and I found out a name was given to him there, don't know if this was mentioned in the game or anything, seems likely to me in the first place.

Did anyone else knew about this?

Clicky

I do have to say that his name...is uhm eccentric. Don't know if it is better then Lazlo or not...
I also posted in a new topic, cause not everyone might be reading my gameplay topic.
Athrun
Both Lazlo and.... Freyjadour o.o' sound 'bleh' to me. Not fond of the Hero names in these past two games. I forgot the name of the hero in Tactics though, but he's not a True Rune weilder.
Chalryn
Huh? Ugh, crap. I already named mine Faroush. >.<;
I'm interested to see where this name may have come from. I'm kinda hoping it was just done by somebody on Wiki messing around. I was starting to get used to the Faroush name. :S Freyjadour sounds a bit ridiculous to me, though Frey doesn't sound too bad... Still just doesn't sound right, though. *sigh*
Pesmerga
I like the sound of Frey though, reminds me of Freya (Norish Mythology). Freyadour sounds horrible to me, but on Wikipedia it is said it was used in the novels.
Faroush was used on a Konami save, but other then that, it is not sure of that is the name or Freyadour.

Kyril was a nice character, but the Swallow Rune isn't a true rune, so I doubt he is immortal in the first place..
SonicX_Zero
IIRC Faroush was used in the demo of the game back at the time of development or something. But meh.. Faroush sounds like Phallus or something. xD
LagunaWannabe
Faroush is way beter than Frejadour

are u sure this is confirmed?

Anyone can edit pages on Wikipedia so no I don't think it's been confirmed. I agree Faroush does sound better.
Wein Cruz
What the #### kind of name is "Freyjadour"? =p

I named him "Katsuya" on my game. Frey sounds cool, though. But Freyjadour???? Um...no. =p
LagunaWannabe
I named him Liwlixam.. Which actually works out well, cause there's SO many L names in the game:

Lymsleia
Lun
Logg
Linfa
Lucretia
Luserina
Lance
Lelei
Levi
Lorelai
Lu
Lyon

How'd i get Liwlixam you ask?? Well when i first started Suik V,i had just finished Kingdom Hearts 2

And the unknowns get their names by mixing around their original names and adding an x.. Well my name is William,

Hence, my unknown name would be: Liwlixam

And i thought it sounded badass
Sigs Minock
i named my hero Nyro... i rarely use the default names.

I would call you a massive geek for using other games names but I named my castle and army after Xenosaga terms... *hides away*...

I wouldn't mind naming the Hero Frey, but not Freyadour... Faroush doesn't sound much better either. Maybe on the New Game+ I'll use Frey or Freya (Though that reminds me of the Rat on FFIX who is also female so I prbably wouldn't use that) Just out of interest Can you can change their name on the new game+?
Pesmerga
No, the new game + takes your old name, as far as I am aware of, it could be that they let you change it, but I am not sure about that.

And with that attitude everything on Wikipedia is fake.

Depends. I also stated that just about anyone could edit something like that, but the thing about Wikipedia is that it is heavily moderated, so false information is generally fixed rather quickly.

The Wiki page seems to mention a novelization, but... when was a novel for Suikoden V made? Last I knew, III was the only one that had something like that. Was it just recently released?
Pesmerga
Could be, I am not sure. As far as I know every Suikoden game has a novelization, how else did Tir and Riou got their names, I thought they got their names through novelizations.
LagunaWannabe
I'm not sure, I jumped at that, and searched it on ebay, amazon, and google, and found nothing fitting the criteria. so im not sure

and no, not everything is fake on wikipedia, maybe occasionally some small fact, but it IS heavily moderated, and everything ive read on there so far is true
Pesmerga
I only found his name on Wikipedia aswell, I searched for it on google, but only the wikipedia site came up, so either it is fake, or nobody knows this yet and it is fairly new.
Rhadamanthus
Check Suikox or Suikosource.
Pesmerga
I did some days ago. On Suikosource he is still written as Prince Falenas on the chars list and Suikox hasn't updated their charslist yet, at least it seemed so.
Or did you saw someting I missed?
Flame
Yep, I can confrim that you're name carries over as well... In fact a hell of a lot carries over indeed... I only want the new game+ for the speed bonus... I don't want it to be too easy... I'm probably going to discard or sell all of the armour from the previous game...

I've been doing some research myself and I havn't found anything about the novelisation of Suiko V except on Wikipedia... Mighty Suspecious...

Off Topic: How far through are you now Pes?
Pesmerga
Well, I never found anything about the novelization on Suikoden games at al, Flame. Though I do have to say that I never looked real deep into it. But searching in English is not really the way to go, Japanese would be. I bet that you could find much more if you were looking for information on that in Japanese.

Off topic: I am now doing the final war battle and then heading to Sol Falena, Flame.
Rhadamanthus
I meant the message boards, I'm sorry. They are usually a more reliable source for checking information that official websites, especially in the Suikoden fandom. smile.gif
Crimcon-Knight
Freyjadour Falenas is his real name acroding to the novilization
outlaws of the marsh or water margin
maxxumas
Freyjadour? What the duce? As if his look wasn't gay enough. I'm leaving mine as Roy darnit...(Thats my name) ALthough you can imagine how odd it was when I met the character who's name really was Roy. For a long time, I thought the game was using my name for that guy (who I thought was a girl at first). I was surprised to find that it was actually his name.
Outlawzero
You obviously didn't finish tactics, he's not entirely human, he doesn't age.
Pesmerga
I think you haven't played the games because all the heroes in Suikoden are human. They do not age because they wear a True Rune.
The only non humans are the elves, kobalds and any other of those creatures.
