I am a big fan of both series but only have money for one. Which would you buy and why?

well i was never a big fan of mega man but did always have fun playing the games. I am a final fantasy fan so I am going to say go with the Fantasy III because its a final fantasy game and ive always enjoyed my final fantasy games. Plus the screens of the DS release look nice, looks solid.

I would go with Final Fantasy III. I've had a chance to play it and its not bad, but nothing special. I have only heard bad from the Mega Man game, and I really didn't give FFIII much of a shot on the DS. I would at least give it a chance.

I haven't played any of the Megaman Z games. I'm a fan of the MMX games though. So I would go with FF 3.

I have never played any of the Mega Man games either...So I would go with FFIII even though I'm not a great fan of that series either. I only recomend it because the few FF games I have played are at least decent even though they aren't high on my list.

What the hell is Megaman Z? When did this happen?

Megaman titles are the ##### and I've been playing them since the golden age of Nintendo. Honestly though it's sort of a tough choice because the FF3 remake DOES look fantastic...

I guess it just depends on your mood. Do you want a fast paced oldschool action/shooter title or an oldschool RPG? Both titles are solid I'm sure ( Haven't met a Megaman title I haven't liked yet, even the Battle Network games are decent enough ) so it really just depends on what you want to play.

Always go for the Final Fantasy series. Also I hear that as this is an old RPG its dungeons are filled with much more challenges then the current Final Fantasy series. So if you are looking for a challenge I would go with Final Fantasy III.

The have been coming out for some time now. They dont actually star Megaman or Zero, I think, but they are about these two dudes that can get armors that enables them to fight like Zero or X. The games look pretty awesome if you ask me, but I am a megaman x fanboy , gameplay seems fluid and with enough new kinks to refresh the same old formula.

Now about which two games to get, I say go for FFIII because I have always wanted to try that game but couldnt because it bored the hell out of me on the NES, the remake looks pretty good and RPGs take priority over other games. If i had a DS i would go for FFIII, well after getting Trauma Center and Phoenix Wright, but between Megaman and FFIII, i must choose the rpg.

Actually I think that is the real Zero. I don't know much about the story, but what you described sounds more like Megaman Battle Network.

Well then I dont know man, keeping track of Megaman releases is like trying to keep track of a redneck's births and who their fathers are.

I saw some video at youtube while looking for some megaman x and found some video of the DS games and those guys did not look like Zero, well they had the sword but they sure as hell were not Zero.

Oh yeah, I think you mean the new one, Megaman ZX.
The MM Zero games were for GBA.



I think you're right about them not being the real X and Zero in this new DS game though.
But they are in the Megaman Z series.

TED was asking about Megaman Z which I mentioned. And I thought this Megaman XZ might be a cointinuation of that series, but maybe not, now that I think about it. Seems like a new series.

You mean "Megaman Zero" and this happened in '01 while it follows the X6 Zero ending aka Zero takes the lead.

And ZX is basically an sequel to the Zero series and thankfully, you get to play as humans for the first time...but that would be a ##### up to the familiar.

But if I remember correctly, ZX takes place either 500 or 600 years after Zero 4.

There is no Mega Man Z. You might be thinking of Mega Man Zero.

They call it Mega Man ZX because it's a sequel series to MMX and MM Zero.

well i would need to buy a DS first but ffIII play I'm hooked on the FF series.

I've seen the intro for FF3 and it's good but a little long and flashy. It seemed more of a "Look what we can do on a HANDHELD" than more of a necessity regarding the story. But I guess Final Fantasy intros are always showboating. ::Cough FF8::

Final Fantasy III is the game on my Christmas list that I'm looking forward to the most. I think what intrigues me the most are the expanded classes. I believe there are like... 30-something available classes? That's GOTTA influence gameplay, and I'm definitely looking forward to experimenting with the various classes. (It almost reminds me of Final Fantasy X-2~)

So yeah, I'd say go with FFIII. xD
