I just did some thinking, and I saw some Majora's Mask trailer with beefed up graphics (they looked kinda weird, here's the link) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuN5PJqJHiU...ted&search=

I realise this isn't exactly a remake, it's just foreign I heard, but I saw this and thought, they should remake Ocarina of Time! What do you reckon?
Grahf
I dont think so, while OoT is one of (if not the) greatest video games ever created, I think they should leave it as is and just make new stories instead of wasting time making a remake. There kind of isnt a reason to anyway, because the graphics of the original aren't bad, and that seems to be the main reason to remake a game. If anything, I would remake A Link to the Past in 3D, but I would still rather have them make new adventures.

A final fantasy 7 remake make me grimace, whereas this gets me excited. I would love a OoT remake. The game was great, I would love to see it introduced to newer graphics. It would be so awesome I would buy it in a heartbeat.
Ragnarok
Orcarina Of Time is a great game by itself and I don't really think it needs a sequal. But if there ever was one, I would want to play it.

I might like something like an exact remake of the game with the same graphics engine and characters, but have an all new enviornment for the game.

DON'T TOUCH IT!! I MEAN IT!

Why screw with a classic?

Leave FFVII alone.

Leave OoT alone.

Or I'll hunt you down.
Eva
Why bother? It's a great game and all, but if people go back and remake a lot of great games, then we'll be flooded with a bunch of remaded games, so don't bother. In 5-10 years, you can think about it, but if a Zelda game going to be remade, it's going to be Link to the Past first in my book.

On a side note, there was a member remaking a 2D sprite of the Ocarina of Time, but he just disappeared .
Razael
I say nay. I am against remakes unless its a really old game that would benefit incredibly with current technology, OoT is too fresh to be remade.

I much rather see the same money and man power be used into making a new zelda game or even a brand new game altogether.

And its not like Nintendo hasnt released the game to be played with current systems, there is that zelda collection and Zelda has to appear on the VC in 2007. Its just pointless.

There is a sequel to it hahahaa, Majora's Mask. Buy it wink.gif

I wouldn't mind if they did a remake because I don't have an N64 and have never played OOT. If they did a remake, then I would be able to play it. However, due to the good point brought up, I don't think they should...Like Eva said, if all they did was remake all those good older games, then we'd never have any new ideas...
YourSweet666
I'd say no, just like to a FF7 remake. Even though they are my two favorites games of all, they are simply true classics, and you don't mess around with the classics.
Red_ryaN
id say no.. just because its a classic, and should remain a classic, the graphics imo is whats going to make it so great when people replay it now or in the future, and they can say, " hey remember when these graphics kicked ass" lol
Athrun
New graphics doesn't always make things better. For better or for worse it can change the whole atmosphere of the game, and I think the atmosphere that the graphics gave OOT are perfect the way they are.
JD-san
I'd be against remaking OoT itself. However, I'd like to see future Zelda games done in OoT's style and feel, but vastly improved on content, length and gameplay.
Pesmerga
Twilight Princess is out, which has everything OoT has and more.
So why bother?
Don't remake this game, there is no point in it. I am against remakes anyway.
Flame
Just like with me and FFVII... a remake will never be able to capture that feeling you got when you first fell in love with this game. The reason people like this (and FFVII) so much is nostalgia... and part of that nostalgia is the graphics... Yes it would sell very well, but it would be recived poorly.

No Remake... Anyway, the graphics really arn't bad at all... it definatly does the job well...
rena
Oh well.. it is true what _Pesmerga_ said that TP has got
everything that OoT has and more, the only difference really is
the story wich is better played of when you play it the first time
and that is on an old console where the feeling is unremakable ;D
Cloudsdead
Remaking the game would not be worth the time. It was amazing on its own, even at a time when Link didnt look like a real person and each individual blade of grass in Hyrule Field didnt move on its on. Changing the graphics will not make its core gaming experience any better.

Dont they have enough OoT remakes already? Although, i wouldnt complain about an OoT remake on DS.

Twilight Princess is horrible compared to Ocarina, even worse than Majora's Mask was. Most of the game is completely useless, with weapons and items you use once and never need again, or short dungeons that would be really awesome if they were longer, like Hyrule Castle, but instead you go in three rooms and then you're done.

Ocarina was perfect. Each dungeon got longer and just a little more complicated, but still not song long to the point where you just want to get through it. Even the so-called "Dreaded" Water Temple isn't that bad compared to the tediousness and repetitiveness of the dungeons in Twilight Princess. That year of delays was wasted, since the game still sucked, for a Zelda game anyway.

The bosses were too easy, even the final boss which was easier than in Ocarina of Time, which in itself was easy but still fun. When I found Ganon in Twilight Princess, I just wanted it to be over. The "climactic" sword fight with Ganon was stupid. He can't defend against the back slice. So much for the Chosen of Power... He was weak!

The whole storyline section with Ilia losing her memory could have been really good if worked correctly, but instead it was weak, arduous, and boring. Another of those things you just wanted to end.

In Ocarina of Time, collecting the Golden Skulltulas was pretty fun, since most of the time you didn't really have to go out of your way to get them, but you still had to figure out how to get them. Getting the Bugs just to upgrade your wallets with no other real reward was boring and tedious. Find it, if you can, and pick it. Ooh, how fun. = (

I didn't dread the Water Temple, but that may be because I used a guide on it, I was young and didn't like challenges at the time... I wish I hadn't now hahaha
True Rune
Nah, like someone else said, OoT is still too fresh. :/ Better off being forgotten than remade. Now Link to the Past.. ... idk it might be interesting.
Xanadu
I tihnk you're onto somethin...
